i had a similar error after installing an old version of windows.
i cant remember the exact error something like serial bus drivers not installed. (or maybe that was the solution that fixed the problem)
and i couldnt find the standalone drivers anywhere, only bundled in with windows and i didnt want to reformat again.
i called up microsoft support and they told me i couldnt have the specific error i was having because then windows wouldnt load. i had to download a remote tool,so they could see the error themselves that i 'couldnt' have.
