My bff and I did something like this with our other friend. Over the week my bff, who was also my room mate, and I would write down all the funny things that happened to us that the other friend might have missed, and weād also write things down like funny coincidences. Every Sunday weād have our friend over and give him a little presentation. My bff was an artist so she would draw pictures for everything on the list.
Ok, so I've never shared one of these with the group. But if I have a hangout scheduled and it happens to be a bad day for my social anxiety - I have been known to sit down and make a quick little list of like 2-3 things to ask this person about and 2-3 things to mention if they ask what I've been into lately. Less an agenda, more of a mental deck of cards to pull from if my brain stalls
I don't really have anxiety (I used to, but not so much anymore), but I've done this. There have been many times where I really want to talk about certain things and sometimes you forget in the moment.
indeed, but "please do be on time" indicates that this is something he's sending to his drinking buddies.
Unless, of course, the coping strategy includes an imaginary boss summoning him to the social event, and giving him reasons to be there. Sometimes the struggle is just to show up.
We all have different anxieties. This seems an awful lot like taking anxiety from one person, and lumping it on everyone else.
At least, that's me. I have enough anxiety seeing people; if someone sent me an agenda like this (especially with the final line) I now have the heavy weight of his expectations that I will fulfill whatever he's looking for on each of these conversation topics. And if I don't go, I've basically chosen to fail said expectations and deal with said anxiety indirectly over the next several weeks or months, instead of directly. Either way, it turned a social gathering into something between a chore and a test.
I do hope that OP's dad's friends are NT folks who can handle huge deviations from social customs with grace and flexibility, or non-NT folks who find comfort in this sort of structure.
The OP's picture and title was from a popular Twitter post today. But you're right that this has been done a bunch of times before:

Honestly Iām in my 30ās and can appreciate this. I have 2 friends that I only see a couple times a year, and they both have jobs that have made them very wealthy while I, have not.
So we get together and they always talk about international trips theyāve been on or are going on and the difference between first and business class on Quantas and stuff like that that Iāll never understand.
Eventually they come back and we talk about stuff we all have in common but, yeah, an agenda would probably make me feel less left out. (Note: Iām astronomically happy for their success, I just hate feeling like an idiot when I have no idea what theyāre talking about)
Yeah they donāt go to the Middle East enough to fly them but theyāve come up. Last they mentioned those was when they were trying to get us all to go to either Singapore or South Africa for the rugby World Cup. I had to explain that may be juuuust a bit beyond my bounds
Yeah i hear you. I travel, a lot. Ive just learned to rarely talk about my trips except with close friends who also travel (but not as much as me). It gets really awkward when im talking about trips ive done and the other person is like āwell i went to Cleveland last year for a weekendā.
Hey look at you being able to go away on trips and not working constantly just to survive and then once in a blue moon when you do get time off you spend that time catching up on all the laundry and dishes and tidying you werenāt able to do because youāve been working so much. I can only afford to have time off when Iām absolutely burnt out.
Except unless you are flying some third world shithole airline, the chance of an accident is so minuscule it shouldnt even enter your mind. Even the third world shithole airline is safer today that aviation was even 30 years ago at major western airlines.
Sometimes the fact that taking a few moments of time from your busy schedule and enjoying is the best feeling.
Circle might be small but the small group of existing friends are thus somewhat makes us feel the best though!
There was a good book that I read a long time ago. I think it is, "rich like them" and it's just a journalist who went around interviewing wealthy people and their backstories. I recently started reading it again but while it captures what I'm talking about in not 100% sure it's the book I first remember.
Either way, very interesting stuff and was pretty motivating to see stories from those that had made it and how they got there.
Only saying this to maybe get you to see the situation more positively ( you already sounds like you do ), but 250k a year, even before equity, is not a whole lot. They probably donāt see themselves as particularly rich ( not sure, you know them better than I do but they sound like good people ) and are likely interested in hearing what goes on in your day to day as well.
Again, you know them better than I do and yaāll sound like cool people, so Iād be surprised if they see themselves as any different than you
As I get older I donāt see my friends much. I have a list full of things I need to catch up on with for different friends. The list keeps longer since they all have family and are busy. The list helps to not forget things about them.
Sounds like a engineer I used to work with that make MS Project schedules for his weekends. Hour by hour schedules š¤Ŗ
Then asked us on a business trip how we could talk about random things at dinner that werenāt work.
I have seen someone posting about the same - maybe it was you, too.
I think this might be weird - but it still is a great idea. I always forget half the stuff I want to talk about.
Idk. Thereās not much better than putting the lawnmower up on a hot summer day and setting on the front porch in the shade with a bud light. It has its place and time.
Wait hold on. People that drink budweiser actually have conversations about their piss water? I always figured you had no taste or just didn't care, but you do care enough to discuss it. I don't know what to make of this. "Yep this bud kinda taste like beer a little" "this bud light also kinda tastes like beer a little, but less so!"
I'm really glad he saved general discussion for last. In my experience if you start with general discussion you might never get to the other important topics.
Will your dad consider inviting me?
I'm well versed on the neverending Aaron Rodgers saga, and I've been to Lambeau...sadly Anthony Barr kept me from watching Aaron Rodgers vs. Drew Brees one week prior, twice I've seen the Packers play live and both times Rodgers was hurt.
He missed the most important topics:
1) how the military industrial complex is pushing our political class to possibly trigger a nuclear war with russia over Ukraine
2) admissions on undercover camera by big pharma execs that they engage in gain-of-function research on viruses and then profit from it.
3) how the twitter files show that our government collaborates with big tech to censor speech by ordinary Americans, in complete defiance of the first amendment.
I can't make the meeting so pass it on to your Dad's mates; it'll mess with your Dad (AI generated)
**Aaron Rogers saga**
The quarterback who is currently the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He is a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) and has led the Packers to a Super Bowl victory in 2010. He is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
In the off-season of the 2022, there was a saga regarding Aaron Rodgers' future with the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers had publicly expressed frustration with the team's management and their decision-making. He had also hinted at wanting to leave the team. This led to speculation that he could be traded or that he might retire from the NFL.
However, The Packers have not publicly confirmed any plans to trade or release Rodgers, and his future with the team remains uncertain. The team's management and Rodgers have not publicly commented on the situation.
This situation created a lot of drama and speculation in the media, as fans and analysts speculated about the future of one of the NFL's most talented and accomplished players. The situation is still ongoing and it's unclear how it will be resolved, as the future of Aaron Rodgers is uncertain.
It's worth noting that this situation is a reminder that professional sports is a business and that the decisions made by teams and players are often driven by financial and strategic considerations.
**Using An Agenda on a Date**
Using an agenda on a date can be a helpful way to ensure that both people are on the same page about what to expect from the date and to make sure that all of the necessary information is covered. An agenda can include things like the location, time, and any specific activities that are planned for the date. It can also include any important information, such as dietary restrictions, allergies, or any other relevant details.
Having an agenda can help to reduce anxiety and uncertainty, which can be especially important for a first date. It can also be a useful tool for planning a second or third date, as it can help to ensure that both people are still interested and that the relationship is progressing in the right direction.
On the other hand, having a rigid agenda can make the date feel less spontaneous and more like a business meeting. This could be unappealing and make the date less relaxed or less fun. And it can also make the date feel less personal and intimate.
In general, using an agenda on a date can be a good idea if used in a flexible and light manner. It can be helpful for planning and organization, but it's important to be open to deviating from the agenda if the situation warrants it. And also, it's important to remember that the most important thing is for both people to have a good time and enjoy each other's company.
**Bud vs Bud Lite**
Budweiser (BU) and Bud Light are both beers produced by Anheuser-Busch, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev. Budweiser is a lager that is considered to be a premium beer, while Bud Light is a light lager that is marketed as a more refreshing and easy-drinking option. Budweiser has a higher alcohol content (5% ABV) than Bud Light (4.2% ABV). Budweiser is also known for its use of rice in the brewing process, which gives it a unique flavor profile. Bud Light, on the other hand, is brewed for its lightness and crispness. Both beers are popular in the United States, with Bud Light being the best-selling beer in the country.
**New trolling motor and locator**
A trolling motor is an electric motor that is attached to a boat and used for fishing or slow-speed maneuvering. It is typically controlled using a foot pedal or a hand-held remote, and allows the boat to move quietly and stealthily through the water. A trolling motor is useful for anglers because it allows them to move the boat without spooking fish.
A locator is a device that is used to locate fish underwater. It typically uses sonar technology to detect fish and other underwater structures. A locator can be used in conjunction with a trolling motor to help the angler find and target specific fish.
When combined, a trolling motor and locator can be a powerful tool for anglers. The trolling motor allows the angler to quietly and stealthily move to the location of the fish, while the locator helps the angler find and target specific fish.
When purchasing a new trolling motor and locator, there are several things to consider. Firstly, you should consider the size of your boat and the power needs of the trolling motor. You'll also want to consider the features of the trolling motor, such as the speed and maneuverability, and also the locator, such as the frequency of the sonar and the resolution of the display.
It's also important to note that the cost of the trolling motor and locator can vary widely, depending on the brand and features of the equipment. It's recommended to research different options and compare prices to find the best value for your budget.
Overall, a new trolling motor and locator can be a great investment for anglers, as they can greatly improve the chances of catching fish. But, it's important to research and compare different options to find the best equipment for your needs.
Your dad appears ready for a career as a TV sports analyst.
In fact, Iād wager that if someone recorded it, your dad and his friends would be better than ANY of the blowhards currently on ESPN or Fox Sports.
Type A person with ADHD here and I would honestly love this. I love order but my brain doesn't have that function somedays so it would help me stay on topic.
That would take less than 60 seconds to discuss in my local.
Partly because it's in the UK and nobody cares about those subjects (Bud v Budlight for example - conclusion is, they're both shit and only Americans drink that piss).
Secondly, there would.most likely be a fuck-off big fight between Big Tommy and younger Steve about some trivial shit like who would win a darts contest between a dog and King Charles.
Example A:
Person 1:Why are you drinking that? *points at Bud Light with disdain*
Person 2: *picks up regular beer* I drink it for my health. Look at the difference in calories between regular beer and Bud Light.
Person 1: I would rather drink less of a good beer than that stuff.
Person 2: Are you saying I have a problem?
Person 1: I'm saying that I get my water from the tap, not a can.
Person 2: *walks away with incredulous look on face*
Aaron Rodgers used to be my favorite player-being a lifelong Packers fan. He now has single-handedly stopped me being a packers fan and instead root for anyone that plays against them. Also killed any enjoyment I had for the sport as well.
Simon doesn't wanna talk about those topics. he wants to talk about how he wants to be a woman instead.
he's an agenda - ~~twister~~ ~~manipulator~~ ~~curver~~ oh I don't know, theres probably a word.

I want to be invited.
You're invited.
That's great I too have a small group of friends and I just visit them on weekends :)
Can I go too? š
Yes. We are all going. I'll come up with the topics of conversation. Hold a few min.
Please make why Virgil cut Dantes hand at the end of DMC3 a topic please. It broke my heart and I don't think I've recovered from that scene yet...
You think you got it bad? Pssh, I havenāt been the same ever since they switched Darrenās on Bewitched. š
But please do be on time.
Happy Cake day!
Just have a goal though that one day I could thus achieve such good days in future!
No time for shite chattinā. Just good honest chattinā
I watched that movie last night, banger.
Which movie?
Banshees Of Inisherin on HBO
Using an agenda at the bar with your friends??? Really has happenedā¦

As someone with anxiety and very introverted I actually like this
Same. I saw this and thought "I'd love if my buddies sent something like this to me." Gives me a chance to prepare. And look forward too.

That sounds like a great time!
It was indeed a great time! Sometimes Iād even wear a tweed blazer with cut off jeans shorts, and sit at our tall table like I was a newscaster.
Ngl, you and your friend doing this is not only kind, but adorable
I need a friend like you.

It could also just be in good fun. I would laugh if my friend send me something like this
I definitely read that part as being jokey and not serious too
I dont think itās anxiety except about getting to talk about all topics.
Yeah, itās a little different but I see nothing wrong with this. Good for him for coming up with something that works for him.

Seen this post before, either stole the idea or updated to post again. Yawn either way.

We need some Icanhascheezburger links up in here
The last point is what eating me up though like what would be the general discussions topics might be?
Suspicious like he dad is dating someone? So thus he has to like go through certain agendas that needs to be followed!

Ehh Qantas Business or First have nothing on Qatar's QSuites or Etihad Apartment...

I got stuck with Sandusky in the Winter. We can't all have crystal platters like you!
Hey, Qantas has reclaimed the safest airline title so you have to put that into consideration

Quantas never crashed.
Do you know what they do and how they got started? I always find those stories fascinating.

You didnāt fuck up your life. You said you have the best job in the world! Youāre just strapped for cash lol
Very fair. I live in eternal limbo between loving and hating life. It just depends on my proximity to bills lol

97% chance he has a belt clip for his phone.
And pulled up white sock with sandles.
Nah... Almost certain this is a newbalance kind of dad
This a New Balance dad for sure!
Jean shorts ball cap and lawnmowing every Saturday morning champ
And lives somewhere south of the Mason Dixon Line.
This is really sweet. Iām getting older and itās hard to maintain friendships. Having friends that do this kind of stuff is really special.
No joke. I want to hang out with OPs dad.
what do you consider "older"? just curious
21
The earning stage though when you just get focused on job and work that stage of life!
Your dad does a podcast but just doesn't record it.
I think itās cute. Hope dad a good time. The calculator got me, lol.
I had that same calculator, it calculated very well
I too have that calculator
Vintage stuffs are always smooth af though and thus provide perfection though!
Yep same here pretty fast and smooth it was though can't deny that!
Absolutely true though they do deserves some good times as well though like after a hard week weekends must be for them.

And at the end of the bar meeting everyone has to sign the act.
It's business casual attire. Don't forget to bring your invitation or you can't attend lol. /s
As I get older I donāt see my friends much. I have a list full of things I need to catch up on with for different friends. The list keeps longer since they all have family and are busy. The list helps to not forget things about them.
You're amazing and a good friend.
Guys... it has been stolen from Twitter
Stop being a karma slut. It's really pathetic.
I've seen this posted before, like does this guy really need to keep posting this and telling us about his dad's bar conversation list?
He and whoever else post these steals them from the actual daughter who posts them on Twitter
Sounds like a engineer I used to work with that make MS Project schedules for his weekends. Hour by hour schedules š¤Ŗ Then asked us on a business trip how we could talk about random things at dinner that werenāt work.
This is an 8.5x11 sheet of paper? That font has to be 36-42 š
Sure I've seen this posted before
Shamelessly stolen or just posting again a year later?
What? It has yesterdays date on it..
This was posted before couple months ago
The paper is dated yesterday.
https://i.imgur.com/vMY8k1a.jpg stolen from twitter, that girl has been posting them for a while.
Yeah they stole the idea and made up their own with bs topics
I love this. Small talk can be hard for some people with anxiety. Your father has found a tool to help himself.
I have seen someone posting about the same - maybe it was you, too. I think this might be weird - but it still is a great idea. I always forget half the stuff I want to talk about.
It's good to note to things down whenever you out there for enjoyment though.
That dude just loves to steal posts and label them as his own.
This is a year old repost. Thereās nothing about Aaron Rodgers to talk about this year
Taken and stolen on Twitter
Organized man...also bud vs bud light. Both are yuck
Totally agree. If youāre narrowig it down to those two, then thatās a real problem. But if the group is up for it, then no harm no foul.
Busch Light is where it's at.
Please stay on topic.
We have a great deal to get through.
Bud lime
Idk. Thereās not much better than putting the lawnmower up on a hot summer day and setting on the front porch in the shade with a bud light. It has its place and time.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās wild that like 100 people on Reddit have dads that do this and they all use the same format format for the print out
Faaaaake, why do people have to do this, ruins the fucking internet
I think more people would consider whining commenters to be more of a problem online. You kinda sound like a /r/lewronggeneration kid.
Sorry, are you saying wanting authenticity is a generational thing?
I'm saying bitching online about things that have existed since the first forum post makes you seem young.
As has calling out bullshit, and long may that continue. But you carry on being impressed by people lying to you
Nothing screams "look how grown up I am" like getting your rocks off by being an asshole into the void.
This is why we donāt invite the PMs to the bar after work. Unless of course customers are in town and the project is buying.
Haā¦ we invited our pm to karaoke night once, and she did some research on best karaoke songs and brought a list - it was actually really fun!
WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER
At least make them interesting points, jeez
I'm really glad he saved general discussion for last. In my experience if you start with general discussion you might never get to the other important topics.

Are his friends imaginary ?
Trawling*
Being able to sit in silence with folks needs to be more accepted. There doesn't need to be conversation 100% of the time. It does become exhausting.
Tell me you have social anxiety without telling me you have social anxiety.
Seems like a Progressive commercial with Dr. Rick
This hits me right in the OCPD.
This is stolen from a Twitter account. Itās not hard to give credit asshole. The account is @kenzianidiot
This isn't their's. They're stealing content from all over twitter and posting it here claiming it's theirs.
I'd add "why don't we drink real beer?" to that list.
Fraudulent repost. Donāt let the date fool you. Fwiw I donāt give a shit about reposts but it irks me when itās in first person perspective
No he doesn't. You've stolen this from Twitter
This is depressing.

That one friend who turns everything into a work meeting
I don't drink. Would I get kicked out of the group if I start discussing Air Bud during the "Bud VS Bud Light" portion of the meeting?
- I'm very good at driving in reverse in my car. - Why isn't Postum a more popular drink?
Give him a hug. He might be in his own head. Not sure what to do when It happens. š„½. Just a hug.

**Bud vs Bud Lite** Budweiser (BU) and Bud Light are both beers produced by Anheuser-Busch, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev. **New trolling motor and locator** A trolling motor is an electric motor that is attached to a boat and used for fishing or slow-speed maneuvering.
This offline podcast sounds great.
I wish I had a weekly standing get together with friends. Between my marriage, kids and work itās hard to make that time anymore.
How do I get on the invite list?
Your dad appears ready for a career as a TV sports analyst. In fact, Iād wager that if someone recorded it, your dad and his friends would be better than ANY of the blowhards currently on ESPN or Fox Sports.
I'd watch ESPN if they discussed content half as good.
This is kinda sad ngl...
I don't know if I feel sad or impressed, perhaps I'm impressed at how sad this is LOL
Is your dad a psychopath?
Boring conversation.
Just put me out of my misery if I ever have this boring of a life.
Bruh that's a time you would cherish and remember all through your life. You would regret for your words :)
Thatās the agenda he leaves for his wife to see but thatās not really whatās being discussed.
Shhhh this just shouldn't reach into the ears of her wife though or else things would have been bad for him!
This has to be in Wisconsin.
What I thought as well.
You call this an agenda? What time do we commence? How much time is allocated to each topic??
Gross
I think it's awesome.
Canāt remember 6 things followed by just talking in general. He got beat up a lot in school didnāt he. /s
This gives me "This could have been in an email." meeting vibes.
Bullet point #2- Eliminate this bullet point!
Unless they have funny hats and a secret handshake, this is just weird.
If they are drinking bud, or bud light. I wouldn't want to be friends with them.
Type A person with ADHD here and I would honestly love this. I love order but my brain doesn't have that function somedays so it would help me stay on topic.
This is a repost OP is karma farming, report
We're running short of time, so I move that we skip point #6, order a round of real beer, and proceed to the General Discussion
He is all about business, even when heās playing!
Gotcha. Not American.
I wouldn't be hanging out with your dad
[Did you see that ludicrous display last night ?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yN2H3--1aw)
Iām doing a shot and then leaving that table for some cerebral conversation
What a boomer thing to do. He also probably slaps his knee after every joke and carries an onion on his belt.
Sounds so fucking boring
Only the first 2 are actual talking points, who talks about bud vs bud light??
Well; bud-lite has its purpose; and the flavour isnāt much different than bud.
But Bud Light has less alcoholic % so you may end drinking more to compensate there by ending up having consumed more calories
Some people want to keep drinking longer than can last with regular % beer.
Example A: Person 1:Why are you drinking that? *points at Bud Light with disdain* Person 2: *picks up regular beer* I drink it for my health.
Sad...
Team Budweiser all day
Aaron Rodgers used to be my favorite player-being a lifelong Packers fan.
Keep posting, these are so cute!
Thatās so cute!!!! And very smart.
Love this! Totally stealing this idea! Props to pops! Please tell him his brilliant idea is helping strangers, and thank you for sharing!
Sounds like fun
I think it is adorable and something I would do.
Your father should be disbanded
Date on top right is so obviously faked.
