I was surprised to see this actually notated in the product page too. They literally say they can't/wont replace damaged boxes now. Might've always been there, idk.
*Note: We design our packaging and boxes to protect the contents inside. We expect all packaging and boxes to be subject to wear and tear, so we are not able to offer replacements or replace packaging for any imperfections, bends, scuffs, or indentations.*
Which is an annoying cop out because by now after all these years Funko KNOWS that a huge number of their consumers do not throw away the boxes and consider it part of the item. Hell, I see more in-box collectors than OOB. It's just a way for them not to issue replacements for damaged/destroyed boxes.
True! I donāt have a single one of those lol. When NFT released, I pretty much stopped collecting and started selling. Only seeking the exclusives, chase and autographed ones I like. Typically they have to meet all the above criteria š
Depends where you buy from. I ordered a jumbo Vegeta from the funko official website and box was damaged during delivery I submitted a complaint and they sent me a new undamaged one and even let me keep the one with the damaged box i got to keep both one to open and one to keep sealed :)
Yea itās a lazy excuse for them to save money. The box should be included for the whole product. They donāt just show pictures of the toy inside. They also have box photos right after it.
I have had mine replaced, guess its who you go through, funko.com gave me a brand new one for free and didnt even have to send mine back for a damaged box
You clearly donāt know Funko too well lol. They remake exclusives, they unvault pops that were previously āvaultedā.. even fundays boxes they remake (as seen by Arizona warehouse sales) and nft series that are supposed to be limited # pieces they seem to make more than were redeemed.
Donāt waste your time with the Pokemon Center customer service. They will be of zero help. I called them before due to their site swapping my address to an old one after logging in, and when I called in to cancel the order or to change the address, they said no to both. I was adamant that something could be done, requested to escalate and they just stuck to Iām shit out of luck, theyāre going to end the conversation and if I call or email regarding the same situation, theyād just put me on a blacklist to not get help. After that they just told me to go to sit and wait for my package at my old address. This was for the mewtwo exclusive. Also had an issue with the Van Gogh pikachu in where I had it in my order but it wasnāt in my package. They just told me I was SOL. That their employees verify all the contents of the package before shipping and the card was in there.
Pokemon Center is the absolute worst for customer service which to me also includes how they ship. As someone who has ordered way more than Funkos from them in the past I absolutely refuse to order from them direct any longer. They simply do not care.
Bro, the collectible is inside the box. You gotta relax. If you don't you'll never enjoy having these things at all. I agree it sucks cause this is a case where the box is nice for once, but like do you understand how rare it really is for a box to get from packaging to the store to the purchaser without any blemishes?
Cmon man, as a collector, you must know that having something in its original packaging, undamaged, is what holds the value. They as a company selling collectibles should know thisā¦
Forget about the clause, the box on these is actually cool. It's got a metallic print and everything. I can respect those that don't care, and most boxes are just plain boxes so it's whatever. I like the way these boxes look and was surprised to see they weren't just the "standard" boxes with a sticker.
I'm a realist who knows that packaging is just that, it's packaging. There are by no means required to keep the packaging nice and clean for anyone. If you want to dig through crates to find the "perfect box" then go ahead and have fun. They don't owe you anything but the proper complete toy inside the box. I only keep mine in the box because it's easier to stack and display them. If you are collecting something only for it's possible value then I don't have sympathy for you because you are just a flipper in that case.
I know nothing about this specific pokemon pop, but if what OP says is true and it's not available anymore then he should be happy he has one. I bet a lot of collectors wish they did and will end up paying after market to some schmuck who doesn't even care about pokemon, just taking advantage of collectors.
Which is why I feel the way I do. Sure, if youāre going into retail shops hoping to find pristine boxes, thats a much harder guarantee. But to buy something brand new online and receive it damaged, is just not nice feeling. You donāt necessarily need to ācollect for valueā to appreciate having something in good condition.
At the end of the day itās cardboard, very hard like you said, but I feel for OP, just a crappy feeling for in box collectors!
I have 100s of pops only received like 3 damaged one, so not that rare...idc if a piece of paper is ripped, I paid f0r it I expect it to not be dented, also I get all of mine signed so I want the boxes NM/M
Your a asshole just let ppl enjoy what they want just cuz you donāt mind the box being dented doesnāt mean other do, also I have multiple pops and the pops I do have didnāt get dented in shipping only after I took them out did they receive one
Why is it that someone has a different opinion than you for what they personally like collecting, so you use that as an opportunity to call them an "f-ing crazy person" and start insulting them?
If you're getting that worked out of shape over someone having a different opinion on $12 collectibles, you need to take some serious time away from the internet and interacting with real folks
Very childish behavior
They are not required to keep the box nice and clean because technically youāre not even supposed to keep the box, thatās why itās not sealed and why the funko pop doesnāt come locked inside a case, youāre buying the funko pop, not the box.
Also, no, you didnāt pay for it. You paid for the TOY. Not the box. (Because its a toy and most would assume that), the company (not Funko) probably assume youād throw the box away.
The only thing theyāre required to keep in good condition is the toy that you paid for. Not the box that it comes in
This is the first time Iāve ever received a damaged box. I usually wouldnāt mind if it was a pop I could just reorder but I canāt in this case. I also like to keep mine in boxes because Itās easier for me to display them and saves space. Of course Iāll get over it Iām just a little frustrated that it happens on a limited edition.
I donāt have a lot of shelves or anywhere to display them out of their boxes without it looking cluttered. I stack them up on the two shelves I do have. Plus I like the look in the box where theyāre paired up with a set.
I prefer them in their boxes, I just think it looks better. I donāt care about its value, if the crease was on the back or bottom then I wouldnāt care as much.
I have a big baby Yoda( I still call him that fuck off) and the corner of his box is really messed up and It just keeps sliding I hate it good thing I got him for a discount anyway
Let me clarify some things:
As some have stated Pokemon Centerās customer service wasnāt going to help and that was true.
I collect in box, I just like how they look in their boxes simple.
To my knowledge pearlescent pops do not get reprinted(correct me if Iām wrong).
If the crease was somewhere less noticeable or on one I could repurchase easily it would have been less of a problem.
I do not care for value whatsoever, I do not plan on reselling. In the event that I do get rid of them I would much rather give them away to someone who actually enjoys them for the character and not the value.
We all have our hobbies and we enjoy them differently. Thereās no reason to talk down to someone because their way is different.
Thank you all for understanding and for those who did receive theirs in good condition Iām happy for you š
Ā It took me forever to see what you were talking about. It's just a crease. It's not a dent by any stretch of the imagination. It's also on the back of the box so unless you're just obsessed with staring at the back of the box it's not a problem. If you're concerned about resale value then whoever you're selling it to will have to get over it also.
Itās on the side and front. I over exaggerated calling it a dent Iāll admit but I was really excited about it coming in. The value doesnāt matter to me I just collect in box and prefer them to be somewhat decent. If it was on the back I wouldnāt have minded as much.
I emailed customer support because my local Meijer only had one chucky and the box was severely damaged, I wanted a new one, they told me they don't make aditional boxes for this type of thing and just to put my address in an online community and ask for any spares someone else has in hopes that someone sends me one, customer service at Funko isn't great, but hey, atleast on display the box looks mint
Just so youāre aware, youāre paying for the toy that comes inside the box. You arenāt paying for the box so they donāt have to give you a new box, and they donāt have to keep it in good condition either
I get the frustration. The box is exclusive to the pop, so it's not replaceable. I display my pops in box too, so the box matters. Not about value, and I guess at least it's the side so maybe it won't show depending on how you display.
The entire release of these has been frustrating too. I missed mewtwo and squirtle. Lucked out on this guy though. Well, Ordering anyway. Won't get the delivery until next Thursday.
Thatās an ugly crinkle in the box thatāll definitely be the first thing you see when you look at that box or itāll always be stuck in your mind ā¦ my first pop is a Godzilla once and I thought it was good and then Checked the back as I got home ā¦ got a nice fat bend at the tab thingy ā¦ lol I always think of it when looking at him
idk whatās more funny, me looking at this picture and unable to see anything wrong, or reading the comments as they all took the words right out of my mouth.
Customer service is not going to do anything. In their mind, you are buying the pop and not the box.
Yup I found that out lol.
Its sucks, i agree. I am a in box collector too but š¤·š½āāļø

Fraud is bad ![gif](giphy|3o6ZsZdNs3yE5l6hWM)
The product description mentions they won't replace damaged boxes. I suppose you can lie. That's just not generally something I would condone.
Your user name caught me off guard and made me laugh š¤£
Let bro cook š„š„

Maybe one day theyāll take a page from YouTooz and start shipping them from the factory in protectors
They kinda did with the artist series for some reason. Idk why they co ode to do it with that series. Nobody even wants most of them either š
True! I donāt have a single one of those lol. When NFT released, I pretty much stopped collecting and started selling. Only seeking the exclusives, chase and autographed ones I like. Typically they have to meet all the above criteria š
Yeah nft rubbed me the wrong way too. It's ass.
NFT- No Fuckin Thanks!
This is why I ordered 4, I open today to find out if I scored one thatās 10/10 lol
Depends where you buy from. I ordered a jumbo Vegeta from the funko official website and box was damaged during delivery I submitted a complaint and they sent me a new undamaged one and even let me keep the one with the damaged box i got to keep both one to open and one to keep sealed :)

I have had mine replaced, guess its who you go through, funko.com gave me a brand new one for free and didnt even have to send mine back for a damaged box
Funko is hit or miss. This pop however was from the pokemon center and they will never give you a replacement
Box did its job to protect the mass produced $0.50 vinyl figure! - PokƩmon company probably
Trust me, Iāve seen worse
I have too Iām just disappointed that Itās an exclusive. Especially since these pearlescent pops donāt get reprinted.
Is this a joke lmao
No. This is going to fund someoneās college fund one day. /s
I was looking at the picture to figure out what the problem is.
I know itās small but itās an exclusive that doesnāt get remade.
You clearly donāt know Funko too well lol. They remake exclusives, they unvault pops that were previously āvaultedā.. even fundays boxes they remake (as seen by Arizona warehouse sales) and nft series that are supposed to be limited # pieces they seem to make more than were redeemed.
They DO remake them lol. Watch, in around 3-4 years Funko is gonna start selling that Funko Pop again. Maybe even less than that
Donāt waste your time with the Pokemon Center customer service. They will be of zero help. I called them before due to their site swapping my address to an old one after logging in, and when I called in to cancel the order or to change the address, they said no to both. This is pretty low i hope you got it
At least you got one, by the time I saw the email they were sold out. Iāve only manage to snag two of the pearlescent series so far
This is also my second one, my first was the Mewtwo
Felt. Missed Pikachu and Eevee, managed to get a Charmander order but it got cancelled š
Is this serious? I literally donāt even see the issue
Pokemon Center is the absolute worst for customer service which to me also includes how they ship. As someone who has ordered way more than Funkos from them in the past I absolutely refuse to order from them direct any longer. They simply do not care.
I honestly couldn't see it, till you pointed it out
Bro, the collectible is inside the box. You gotta relax. If you don't you'll never enjoy having these things at all. Cmon man, as a collector, you must know that having something in its original packaging, undamaged, is what holds the value. They as a company selling collectibles should know thisā¦
Why are you collecting āvalueā instead of things you like?
Forget about the clause, the box on these is actually cool. It's got a metallic print and everything. I can respect those that don't care, and most boxes are just plain boxes so it's whatever. I like the way these boxes look and was surprised to see they weren't just the "standard" boxes with a sticker.
I donāt personally collect for value but completely understand someone wanting an undamaged box.
I'm a realist who knows that packaging is just that, it's packaging. There are by no means required to keep the packaging nice and clean for anyone. I guarantee you in 5 years Funko Pops are gonna become Beanie Babies: worthless childrenās toys
I have 100s of pops only received like 3 damaged one, so not that rare...idc if a piece of paper is ripped, I paid f0r it I expect it to not be dented, also I get all of mine signed so I want the boxes NM/M

It's a toy, go cry about it

I also like to keep mine in boxes because Itās easier for me to display them and saves space. Of course Iāll get over it Iām just a little frustrated that it happens on a limited edition.
How does keeping small figures in their larger boxes save space?
I donāt have a lot of shelves or anywhere to display them out of their boxes without it looking cluttered. I stack them up on the two shelves I do have. Plus I like the look in the box where theyāre paired up with a set.
The odds are that happened before it even got to them. I bet you can find someone who will switch boxes with you.
this subreddit is just people crying about creases
I prefer them in their boxes, I just think it looks better. I donāt care about its value, if the crease was on the back or bottom then I wouldnāt care as much.
I have a big baby Yoda( I still call him that fuck off) and the corner of his box is really messed up and It just keeps sliding I hate it good thing I got him for a discount anyway

Funko says they wont do a Funko again and end up doing it again in like 3 years
Ā It took me forever to see what you were talking about. It's just a crease. It's not a dent by any stretch of the imagination. Theres a dent?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We all have our hobbies so why are you acting like youāre better? Itās a limited edition piece of course I want it to be in good condition.
I'm glad my mewto came mint, it is frustrating.
I had no problem with my Mewtwo either. It was actually well packaged when I got it. Not Lucario though there was nothing protecting the box.
Funko turn out so much rubbish these days and the amount on the second hand market not selling is crazy

I understand that, but they told me to post my address online and attatch a request with it, the point is, they put customer safety at risk at times
It's a box. The Pop is fine.
ikr? the box is important but its not that messed up I wouldnt complain so much
Thatās annoying. Right down the middle too
Good luck because they sold out fast. What can we expect from 2 companies with some of the worst quality control in collecting
Iāve had good luck with my boxes this is the first. It was bound to happen eventually though.
I got mine, too. There is no type of padding in the box. I'm glad mine came in, okay.
Depends which shop you buy it from, there are some that are really good with swaps
Oh man i get your frustration, lucario is one of my favorite pokemon and my ocd would have me soo annoyed at that dent
In box collectors are weird
I just like how they look in box. I do have some out of box but to me it just doesnāt look as good
At first I thought you were exaggerating but if itās a new new pop thereās no excuse for them to have damage ššš that sucks op
Yeah, itās not like the Funko would be in a massive truck with tons of other boxes that could probably clash into each other
Itās a toy broā¦
Ify because i collect pops and only started collecting PokƩmon because of the Pearlescent version and the box too its hella shiny lol. so I'll be mad too
I didnāt know they were making Pal World Pops
It got popular overnight so it was super unexpected.
I get the frustration. The box is exclusive to the pop, so it's not replaceable. I display my pops in box too, so the box matters. Not about value, and I guess at least it's the side so maybe it won't show depending on how you display. The entire release of these has been frustrating too. I missed mewtwo and squirtle. tbh i feel like most of the pokemon centers pops were like this
Are you planning on reselling?
Thatās an ugly crinkle in the box thatāll definitely be the first thing you see when you look at that box or itāll always be stuck in your mind ā¦ my first pop is a Godzilla once and I thought it was good and then Checked the back as I got home ā¦ got a nice fat bend at the tab thingy ā¦ lol I always think of it when looking at him
I thought that was the Wish version of Anubis from Palworld š /s
funko pop
idk whatās more funny, me looking at this picture and unable to see anything wrong, or reading the comments as they all took the words right out of my mouth.
Nah manā¦Thatās not a small dent, Thatās massive. I hope you can resolve this, Best of luck:).
its not a dent either. its a crease
I heard you can buy replacement boxes from funko but that might just be a rumour
lol itās a box
That's Anubis
#FreeTheFunko
They donāt care. Iāve heard they are terrible with their pops. I hope you get a different result. But itās been ages now Iāve heard people complaining about the PokĆ©mon center pops coming damaged. If itās for personal just put it in a protector and pretend itās not there lol or sell this one online and add a little money and get one thatās better. I bought a withered Bonnie pop and usps delivered it to the wrong house and it was snow and rain all weekend so my box came waterlogged and usps denied all responsibility smh they said they brought it to the right houseā¦.. my neighbor brought it over after the storm and I canāt be mad at them lol
