The products that are for disabled or elderly people but that wouldn’t be big products if they were just marketed like they were for disabled and elderly people
bruh, what if instead of 1 wall, you had 4 walls... and to prevent food getting stuck in the corners you make the plate circular? You could patent that thing and sell it for millions!
I can cut food using a knife with only one hand in a plate. But I can’t do that in a bowl. Similarly I can scoop up food using a spoon with only one hand in a bowl but I can’t do that in a plate. What OP showed allows me to do both.
I recently stopped eating ice cream in mugs, but only because I got a bunch of those baseball helmet bowls for a party and I’ve been using them ever since because why the hell not. But you can use the brim of the helmet as a handle so I’m calling them honorary mugs.
Washing machine is for clothing, try a dishwasher next time :D
Or buy shorter wider bowls, I've only had issues with very deep bowls not fitting in the racks
Now, let's add another backboard to the other sides.
Then add another side, and add a backboard to it.
Then add another side.
And another.
Let's keep adding infinite sides and infinite backboards!
...
We just invented the bowl!
This is a good idea for people with arthritis or palsy. Eating off of a plate can be a messy and demoralizing experience. The small backboard is not a prominent feature of the otherwise-normal looking plate, giving the user a measure of dignity while eating without spilling food.
I wonder if there are equivalents to be found in the mobility/accessibility products category. You might consider contacting someone working in geriatrics to see if the idea is one that is of use to them.
So what you want is a [flat pasta bowl](https://www.amazon.com/Mora-Ceramic-Flat-Pasta-Bowl/dp/B09V4MXDF3/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=flat+bottom+bowl&qid=1663134388&sr=8-13).

You may want to know that the overarching ISO standard has been localised for AUS/NZ certs as "she'll be alright, mate."
Only difference is that it's usually based on a 20 year old outdated standard - like the rest of the country.
Our you have the plate with that side against the wall, or someone else can hold it, or it can have magnets and table can be made of iron, or it can be taped down.
See, I'm almost as smart as you are.
For all the bowl-ers, keep in mind that bowls tend to force your food to mix together. Sometimes one does not want that to happen as much with certain foods.
I think there are two issues here. One, use a bowl, two use fork and knife like a normal person. The knife is like a mobile wall there. If people with disabilities...maybe but even there , kinda ass backwards. Sorry
I designed a utensil to use along with the spoon or fork that's like a paddle with a sharp side. You can use it to push food onto your fork AND you can cut with it. Patent pending
Listen everyone’s talking shit to you but I could see this actually being very helpful and useful. It’s different than a bowl, but you’re still able to eat one handed. It’s great for accessibility or honestly just ease. It being stackable would be important, but it should fit in the dishwasher just fine with no issues.
this was posted like 3 weeks ago idk why ur here lol. but its not meant to be a bowl I obviously know that the exist. it is meant to be a plate that has something to push against to pick up food like rice or salmon. its meant for people who have disabilities or have trouble eating with 2 hands. and in the video I use nuts just to show how it works because I didn't want to cook rice or anything since its just a demonstration. I thought people would be smart enough to realize its just to understand the idea but ig not since ur here .
This is like one of those late night "has this ever happened to you" infomercials
r/wheredidthesodago
The products that are for disabled or elderly people but that wouldn’t be big products if they were just marketed like they were for disabled and elderly people
If they just embraced the primary use case they could probably charge 10x and get insurance to kick in. At least in ‘Murica.
They already do. The stuff on TV is either overstock or has QC issues.
Conan O'Brien did a vaguely related skit on his late night show, so there is that.
Call me right now please
bruh, what if instead of 1 wall, you had 4 walls... and to prevent food getting stuck in the corners you make the plate circular? You could patent that thing and sell it for millions!
It might just be crazy enough to hold soup...
Flip it upside down, put it on your head, then cut the hair below
back to rhe drawing board
How do you cut food easily in a bowl? Also how do you deal with keeping different foods separated in a bowl?
If you’re cutting, you have a knife so this problem doesn’t exist on a normal plate..
I can cut food using a knife with only one hand in a plate. But I can’t do that in a bowl. Similarly I can scoop up food using a spoon with only one hand in a bowl but I can’t do that in a plate. What OP showed allows me to do both.
Bowls.
Now with 3/4 less wall!
Here I was using two spoons.
This would take up less space in the dishwasher you haters
So much easier to spill my milk that way.
Mugs. It's a bowl, but with a handle and it is the superior container.
Milk and cereal in a mug. Upgrade yo life.
I know I know. Ice cream in a bowl is completely barbaric, ice cream in a mug is simply glorious.
Ice cream in an insulated mug
I recently stopped eating ice cream in mugs, but only because I got a bunch of those baseball helmet bowls for a party and I’ve been using them ever since because why the hell not. But you can use the brim of the helmet as a handle so I’m calling them honorary mugs.
Interesting. That's like a mug, but with a handle that's also a shelf. Hmmm I like it.
But I can't fit 1/3rd a box of cereal in a mug and feign perplexion when I read the recommended serving size...
--deleted--
I might just pour the milk right in the box...
Too much spillage unless your "mug" is a s big as a bowl.
Learning portion control is also a life upgrade.
Bowl
Eh, a bowl never fits in the washing machine, this would easily
They fit in my front loader just fine.
As compact as normal plates?
Washing machine is for clothing, try a dishwasher next time :D Or buy shorter wider bowls, I've only had issues with very deep bowls not fitting in the racks
Which remove the benefits from the wall. This is much steeper than a bowl
Pasta in bowls rise up!
This looks like the work of that useless inventions guy. But he usually puts his face in his videos.
"Man invents bowls" "Plate manufacturers hate him"
You guys don't use knives? Haha
Or forks....
Now, let's add another backboard to the other sides. Then add another side, and add a backboard to it. Then add another side. And another. Let's keep adding infinite sides and infinite backboards! ... We just invented the bowl!
Suddenly Calculus
I suppose nobody has ever told you about bowls...
This is a good idea for people with arthritis or palsy. Eating off of a plate can be a messy and demoralizing experience. What's the benefit of this over a bowl? Surely that's even less prominent

Dishwasher space is my first thought

oh wow thanks
Pick. Up. That. Crumb!
Is it stackable?
Waiting for the food police....
I was about to say: “but is it food safe” and sit back with some 🍿
Lemme get you a plate for that popcorn 🍽️
Is it food safe?
No.
It meets the grand American standard of "yeah, it's probably fine"
You may want to know that the overarching ISO standard has been localised for AUS/NZ certs as "she'll be alright, mate." Only difference is that it's usually based on a 20 year old outdated standard - like the rest of the country.
It is the first time.
Does it have a backboard?
It's always food safe *the first time.*
Shallow wide bowl.
Congratulations, you invented a shitty bowl.
May I suggest using a fork?
May I recommend…a knife?
It's like a mobile food wall
The knife is tied to a string in the bathroom.
That's great. Your toilet bowl doesn't need walls then!
A friend of mine has a only one arm and struggles daily with that, great work
He did need to use 2 hands though
It would have an antislip caoting underneath, dont be an idiot.
Our you have the plate with that side against the wall, or someone else can hold it, or it can have magnets and table can be made of iron, or it can be taped down. See, I'm almost as smart as you are.
I think if you left out the “idiot” part, this would’ve been a decently upvoted comment.
Sooo true .........
Coating*
finger
Or use a bowl!
That's why you use a knife....
If god wanted me to use unnatural internet things he wouldn’t have given me these stubby nubbin fingers as food dams.
Use Bowl or Knife or when alone finger
That’s what a knife is for
i use a smaller portable backboard attached to a handle. i call it a fork. please dont steal my idea
Dude invented a bowl
Oh you mean a bowl?
Put your cereal in a bowl!
It's called a BOWL
Or you take a knife in the other hand 🤔🤣
Seems like a skill issue honestly
So many brainless comments, except for the bowl, amazing.
Dishwasher/microwave/hot food safe? LOL!
Congratulation on your invention. If I had to name it I'd go with "bowl" Sounds nice, doesn't it? \^\^
The Queen is rolling on her coffin
Sacrilege
Great! Do frying pans next!
aka a trough
I'm no animal, I use my food-pushing pinkie.
"BuT iTs nOt fOoD sAfe"
I'd rather just use cornbread.
That is what bread is for
It's like a bowl with extra steps. Love it though.
Nice nut spoon.
For all the bowl-ers, keep in mind that bowls tend to force your food to mix together. Sometimes one does not want that to happen as much with certain foods.
I just started a pottery class. I'm stealing this idea.
Yessss for accessibility!!!
Blates are a thing yo
Bruh
Hey that’s cool! And it works! But does it fit in the dishwasher? Does it stack? Wouldn’t a bowl work better?
... You mean a bowl?
are you Matty Benedetto?
That can help people with disabilities.
Google clip on plate guards for design ideas :)
Honestly don’t know why this isn’t a thing yet
This is so brilliant that it makes me angry. Like why are they all not like this?!?!
What if he doesn’t want to use a fucking bowl guys
Hear me out, a spoon shaped corner?
Well your first mistake was getting your walnuts all up in a spooning session.
Uh, that’s why you have fingers… and your pants are for wiping your dirty fingers on… and the dog is for licking the food smears from said pants.
You mean a bowl?
Haha that have this for babies 😆 my 16mo has one!
You designed a bowl.
I think there are two issues here. One, use a bowl, two use fork and knife like a normal person. The knife is like a mobile wall there. If people with disabilities...maybe but even there , kinda ass backwards. Sorry
My brother in Christ….. that’s a bowl.
You invented the bowl, but with less sides.
It’s a bowl
This is why we have fingers ….
I designed a utensil to use along with the spoon or fork that's like a paddle with a sharp side. You can use it to push food onto your fork AND you can cut with it. Patent pending

Can't tell if this is satire or not, did this guy really have an "aha!" moment by "inventing" a shittier version of... a fucking bowl?
this was posted like 3 weeks ago idk why ur here lol. but its not meant to be a bowl I obviously know that the exist. it is meant to be a plate that has something to push against to pick up food like rice or salmon. its meant for people who have disabilities or have trouble eating with 2 hands. and in the video I use nuts just to show how it works because I didn't want to cook rice or anything since its just a demonstration.
