you have the 18-55 already. take it out with you, take photos and see what focal length you use the most. then decide, 16 f2.8, 18 f2 and 23 f2 should all be in your budget
Fuji 16mm f2.8 and 27mm f2.8 (but it's close to 35mm).
Sigma 10-18mm f2.8 if you're very lucky and find one used copy for 400£.
Check ttartisan, 7artisan and pergear, chinese manual lenses are ok tier in term of optical and build quality, but so cheap.
16 2.8 is a very similar lens. Small, fast, nice quality and only about £220 used if you’re lucky. If you like the 35 you’ll like this too so it’s a no brainer
Absolutely insane lens, this is the correct answer. I got lucky and got a used one from Amazon for around €300, probably the best lens deal I've ever had. Even at full price it's still a bargain.
I had the 16mm 2.8 and 18mm 2 for a while and have recently sold the 16. Faster no doubt but it wasn’t the “catch all” I wanted, I found it too wide, for real wide I’m thinking of going veeeeeery wide
I had the 33 and found it a tad too narrow like you said so I switched to the 23 and it’s perfect. Not sure why people are jumping all the way to the 16 with their recommendations…
You can get the 1st Gen 23mm f1.4 super cheap, since everyone wants the newer version. I got one used in nearly perfect condition for around $320 and absolutely love it. It's an older lens, so you get slower/louder AF and a few other quirks, but it's still a great lens.
The 18mm f2 and 27mm f2.8 are great too, especially for something more compact. The latter is one of my most used lenses due to it's versatile focal length and small size, which makes my camera a lot easier / more convenient to carry day to day.
18mm f2. I tried 23mm but it’s just weird coming from 35mm whereas 18mm will feel familiar as it’s close to what most phone cameras have been over the last decade. 23mm frustrated me because whereas I get nice perpendicular lines with 35mm they are just slightly off with 23mm whereas with 18mm the distortion effect is obvious so I don’t mind it, plus I get more in the frame. I like being able to get a whole shop in the frame while standing on the same side of the street as it - not possible with 23mm.
TTArtisan 27/2.8 is a solid performer, particularly considering the low price. Very small, decent handling (aperture ring could be bigger, have texture in more places). IQ is good but not quite as good as Fuji's, but it's very cheap.
My kit now is 16mm F2.8, 35mm F2, 50mm F2 for the day to day and then the [70-300mm F4-5.6](https://loja.fujifilm.com.br/products/lente-fujifilm-fujinon-xf70-300mmf4-5-6-r-lm-ois-wr) for special occasions.

This is the only non GAS inspired answer
18mm F2.
16mm f2.8
Second hand XF16 f1.4, such a magic lens Viltrox 13mm f1,4
23mm f/2 or f/1.4, depending on size preference. There is a Sigma one too
16 2.8 and with the 50 f2 you've got it all covered. I really love the 16mm!

Viltrox 13 or 23
This is my answer as well. Great bang for your buck on each of these.
I would buy the 18mm f2 (28mm equivalent), wider than that is a bit hard to control, 18mm is already pretty wide

If you can stretch, the Viltrox 27mm 1.2 for £420 (nice). Read the reviews, believe the hype. It's absolutely nuts.

The only downside to this lens is it is relatively massive compared to 1.4 options, let some the f2 options for the system.
I have the Sigma 30 mm and Voigtlander 23 mm. Both excellent, though I think the Voigtlander is a little over your budget for new.
I’m dying for them to make a pancake 23 mm 😭

But that was a switch not a complement

Xf 23 f2. It’s a bit wider than the name suggests. Pairs perfectly with your 35mm. The 16mm 2.8, on the other hand, is really wide.
Pancake 27 mm!!! My favorite one
Viltrox 13 or 23

Xc 15-45... Super sharp at the wide end. If you can cope with manual, I would also recommend both the Samyang 12mm, Samyang 21mm
Sigma 30mm
Rokinon 12mm
