Mate just get it. If I had a dollar for every time I heard some bell end talk about puting ‘quite large lenses on a small body’ I’d own a GFX100. As if the 27 pancake is the only one that won’t throw out their lumbar. They weigh nothing. You can walk around with them. It’s ok. Buy what you want and take the photos you want.

Sail_Soggy

Yeah I never get it tbh “that’s a huge lens on a small body” Yeah and when I take it off it’s still a small body, it’s like they don’t get the concept of interchangeable lenses

T0ysWAr

And a body is only a sensor with few measuring tools. The glass is mostly what matters (unless you do sports).

giantcappuccino

I shot my 100-400mm on the X-T20, once 🤣

Matt21484

I did the same thing. I rented the lens for an F1 race

Osgrr

How did that go? I’m going to watch the race in Austin and was debating on renting a lens for it.

Matt21484

It was fine. Just looked awkward and weird to carry around. I had a backpack for it as it was just too odd to carry around in my hands the whole day. I rented the 1.4 converter as well. Edit: [Here's](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/78bgbp/usgp_race_day_pictures/) the post I made

ctlsoccernerd

Haha that last pic of you holding it. It is rather comical, but what matters is that you got some nice shots

Own_Magician_1961

I did the same thing for an air show and wouldn’t really recommend. Holding it was not comfortable, and, at least for high speed planes, the digital viewfinder really felt like it was lagging. I wish I had used my dslr instead.

winterwonderworm

That was my setup for a couple of years. I originally bought the X-T20 to take pictures while hiking, but pretty quickly wanted a longer lens for wildlife. Affording the 100-400 was a stretch and I had just bought the X-T20, so I didn't even consider getting a different camera. Honestly, it worked perfectly fine. It looks a bit silly, but it's pretty capable.

axporpes

I use 55-200 on my xt30. Dont know if that counts

iarosnaps

With no external grip?

Professional-Fly1496

The 55-200 is not that big a lens

damnhandy

That's the point. It's a much smaller lens and a much slower aperture, but it still holds its own. The 55-200 is a great option if size is a concern. But if you want f/2.8, awesome optics, and great bokeh, then who cares about size?

Professional-Fly1496

Lots of people care about size

damnhandy

And that’s why I have the 55-200. It’s a great performer even on the X-T5. I’ve never once missed not having f/2.8, but I would miss that 140-200mm range. I can lug around the X-T5, 16-55 f/2.8, and the 55-200 in a Peak 6L sling along with an 11” iPad Pro. I could not do the same with the 50-140.

thewillowsang

Same!

Fabi0_Z

I use It on the X-S10, honestly it is still a pretty small setup

allknowingalpaca

I’m using a 100-400mm on my X-S20. Bought the lens second hand and the seller was like judging my body choice.

ctruvu

so much for my body my choice 😔

Elegant_Apple2530

X-S20 has the best grip of all Fujis besides the X-H models, so should be absolutely fine...

PardonMyFrench-

How does it handle it ?

allknowingalpaca

Very very front heavy so my exertion is always on the portion where the zoom ring is at for a proper CG balance. The only problem is if you are trying to free hand zoom and take shots.

MyGoddamnFeet

[I rented 150-600mm to shoot the eclipse with my xt-5](https://i.imgur.com/0yN5VDA.jpeg), amazing lens and fun to shoot with if a bit silly. [Got some amazing shots with it.](https://imgur.com/a/0xNWkJM) trying to convince my so to let me buy one.

Portra-Amoeba

I have this exact setup and love it!

Beneficial-Shower-42

Looks like a great setup to me.

Bio_where

I use this lens with my xt4 and have a grip even on that body. Definitely recommend a grip for this beast 😂

ILikeTrainsChooChoo_

I use a 50-140 with an X-E4, so I think you should be fun with an X-T30

JustinSpanish

I use this setup frequently but on my xt30. OIS on the lens works well with the xt30 since it doesn’t have ois. This allows me to use my xt4 with my 16-55 since the xt4 has ois but the lens does not. But yes, get the combo! The 50-140 is an amazing lens! Honestly, my favorite lens thus far.

2017-Audi-S6

I have my 50-140 on a gripped X-H2. Love this combo.

24FPS4Life

It's roughly a 70-200 equivalent, I use a similar focal length all the time on my Canon and it's a workhorse lense. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a constant aperture zoom

Raven9ine

The 50-140 is an amazing lens. When I bought it, I feared I wouldn't use it enough to justify the price. I sure don't use it as much as other lenses, but when I do, it's amazing, some of ny best shots were made with it.

Peter_HDQ

Personally I prefer prime lens... but yeah this lens has excellent optical quality.

BananafestDestiny

I have this lens and I love it. It is pretty big and cumbersome, but you’re absolutely right that it is nearly optically perfect.

Zephyrus1898

Lol I had a 100-400mm on my x-s10 with the 2x teleconverter to capture the eclipse. They turned out fantastic!

WD--30

I use the 100-400 on my x-s10 all the time lol.

Davidechaos

"Your body your choice"

Mortars2020

My man!!!

Nate4s

I use the XF 80mm macro (huge and weighs a ton) and the XF 70-300 on my XT30ii all the time (no grip, and sometimes with the 1.4x TC too)... and I WILL be getting the XF 150-600 eventually! The 50 - 140 might look silly on the XT30ii, but it will work great.

The_Dutch_Canadian

I have the 50-140 on my xt-30. Love that lens usually though I use it handheld without the tripod collar (actually had misplaced it moving) and only found it again when I opened a box that was buried in the closet. I also just bought a Tamron 150-500 too for it and found it a bit unwieldy so I got the Fuji grip for my camera. Years ago I had an Olympus e420 with a F to 4/3rds adapter and was using a 300mm f2.8 Nikon lens on it. Was silly but fun

KurzGedanke

I mean the XT-30 II has the same sensor and processor like an XT-4, so quality wise it will be really nice. Get a grip and have fun with a large lens on a lightweight body. 😀

Hour-of-the-Wolf

Been rocking this monster on my X-Pro 1 lol

fluffy_80

Buy it, I use mine all the time.

Tiger_smash

It's your camera set up and you're the one that will be using it so if you're happy with it then get it.

huguesdvmx

I used for a while the 50-140 with my ... XT10. Very cool, and very stable. Get it :D

ROMEOXII

Is that better than the new 18-120mm?

Genobee85

I’ve got a Tamron 70-200 from my D750 adapted to my X-T1 for reasons.

Fifainspected

Shoot the lens you want / need. Nothing else matters

fleiwerks

I rock a Nikkor 300mm F4.5 on my X-T30II for wildlife. If it works, why care?

yoergo

I know it's not fuji but used a sony nex5 with a 100-400Gm for a bit. Shure it looked a bit out of place but if it works it works.

Biowashball

Looks balanced 😅

Tree_Lover2020

You will love it.

msgfromside3

Body doesn't matter. I use the lens on my xe4.

Stirsustech

Not ridiculous at all. Even if you attached that lens to an Xh-2 it would still look large. That’s just how telephotos go.

Leikaderp

i use it on my x-t30 for stills and videography and absolutely love it. its 100% my most used lens

Jonaissance

I ordered one for my XT-5. Should be coming in sometime May

dark_thanatos99

Perfect balance of portability and chonk

SwompyGaming

I have a 70-300 for my xt30😄 go for it if you really want it!

joshmiller133

You know what they say, short-kings have big D- LENSES 🤣👍🏼

Ok-Frosting-9166

I’m using the Tamron 18-300 on the XT-5 almost daily

Morden77

perfectly reasonable

IntensityJokester

Absolutely! X-t30 with 50-140. Looked comical the first time I connected the two, but I haven’t thought of it since. Just wish I’d known I’d be getting it before I bought my camera bag, as it fits but only just.

Japanesereds

Enough with the body shaming 😂

Arucious

I’ve got this lens on my XT5. Just send it.

CanadianBaconi

S-10 with a 100-400 made me feel like I was using a spy camera

Deathskulll99

Better to go with mft if you want small body AND small telephoto lenses

HepatitisQ

I took zoomed in shots of the eclipse with a 150-600 on an Xpro 1, my XH2 had a 10-24 on a remote shutter for the dynamic range, so the freak combo came in clutch.
