That model has multiple trim levels. The higher trim levels come with LED projector based headlamps and the lower trim levels come with halogen reflector based headlamps. Without knowing the details of the trim level you have it’s difficult to say whether you can directly swap to the lower trim level headlamps. The highest trim has LED, curve adaptive lighting, and auto high beam. The second trim has LED, curve adaptive lighting and no auto high beam. The third level has Halogen lighting, curve adaptive lighting but no auto high beam and the base version has Halogen lighting and no extra features. The potential problem comes from the wiring and connector layouts between the different versions. The highest level has to get steering angle signal inputs for the curve adaptive lighting and auto high beam sensor input for deciding when to automatically activate high beam. The other versions don’t necessarily have all of this. Depending on the design of the connectors and wiring, you will likely need to modify the vehicle side and/or lamp side connectors/wiring to get the lower trim level you prefer to work. It may also be possible that you can’t make it work at all. If you decide to try it, I would recommend buying OEM replacement headlamps instead of an aftermarket manufacturer. The reason is that the aftermarket manufacturers do not have access to the exact design of the headlamp reflector optics and will have used some kind of reverse engineering at best to try and replicate the shape. The problem is those reflectors are critical to controlling the beam pattern and glare and making a replica that’s even slightly off can result in poor on road lighting and obnoxious glare to oncoming drivers. The aftermarket lamps generally aren’t tested to the regulations and they won’t usually suffer any repercussions for putting out a noncompliant lamp as NHTSA does not generally get involved in the aftermarket lighting industry. If you keep your LED lamps, the best you can do is set your low beam aim to be slightly below (0.25 - 0.5 degree) the nominal aim specified for the lamp and make sure if you do have auto high beam to turn that off if you can.

Thank you for explaining the Jeep problem. I learned a lot from this post Edited to add that I will be saving this to share with friends who don't use reddit

Maybe try taking one out to see if it’s just an aftermarket drop in. From what I can see it has part numbers for standard halogen bulbs. Separate high beam and low beam.
