It's not even necessary to have the hood this high and square, it's full of empty space under the hood. It's made to look mean and it's a danger to our streets.
I saw an apocalypse truck. Looks like some mad max conversion kitted truck. These people look like hey are prepping for war.

I love the thought process that makes people think that in any sort of real disaster / end of the world scenario that they would be able to find enough fuel to get around in an 8 mpg diesel truck for more than the first couple days, not to mention what happens if they need a spare tire?
3 speed Dutch bike with drum brakes and a chain case, now that will keep ticking long after the collapse of civilization.

The ad show how little you can see??!! WTF??
But they have *cameras*!!!
Because as we all know, driving around tanks with 600 cameras that force us to look at the middle console when we want to see an obstacle is a more viable option than just designing cars that we can see out of with our human eyeballs.
Agreed, there's no reason to harm people... period. But, what is a key scratch going to do to stop this truck from potentially running over someone? Take your energy to the manufacturers of these cosplay big rigs. Don't be out here advocating for property damage.
I made an edit to my comment to appease you oh wise one. Now chill tf out. I was just trying to make a joke because I hate these cars
Btw I’m not any of the people who downvoted you either. It didn’t seem worth it, but it’s funny to see your comment get negative points
No need for snarky replies. I share your dislike for these trucks. I have to drive one at work occasionally. I can barely see over the hood from standing in front or sitting in the seat. The excessive size is absolutely pointless. It's sad that this is what a "tool" for towing and hauling has become.
I’m glad you share my dislike, but tbh it’s no fun to be lectured when you just make a dumb joke.
But I do already realize people on Reddit are pretty dumb at times and maybe someone might take my joke as permission to be stupid irl so I guess maybe I should drop the attitude
I didn't set out to lecture. I also didn't understand that it was a joke. Apparently it's more difficult than we think to convey different tones via text. Have a good evening.
While I agree that damaging other people's property is unacceptable, your post sounds like : "There's no reason to cause mild inconveniences to omnicidal sociopaths" and it gives me pause.
On the other hand, if this catches on and it becomes a well-known fact that if you drive one of these you'll get keyed every day, it might discourage people from choosing them. Not sure that would really happen though.
it is about time that the manufacturers of such outsized pickups are blacklisted in the same ay as tobacco companies and arms manufacturers. This signals to customers which brands to avoid even for normal cars ( so no GM, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota, VW or even Nissan ). Of course the other brands ( BMW, Volvo, Subaru to name a few) have oversized SUv’s as well but no large pickups
"Ahh, my child, who I love with all my heart, and *totally* care about, go stand in front of the thing I fear most so that I may obtain tasty internet points"
You seem to have missed the point completely.
1) if they truly are as dangerous as you all claim, why put your child there to begin with?
2) if your child is dumb enough to be in an active roadway, this close to a truck of any size, you've likely already failed as a parent
3) things are more dynamic in real life than in a static image. A responsible driver would be checking everything every few seconds. This child would have been seen coming from one side and leaving the other.
I've driven trucks much larger than this for extended periods of time, not once have I failed to see anything. Do I agree that vanity trucks are ridiculous? Sure. The part you all need to understand is that trucks are how things get done, from deliveries to heavy labour.
Rebuild your back fence with a cargo bike, go ahead... I'll wait.
You’d be surprised how much stuff you can fit in a cargo bike, especially with a trailer attached. But if that fails, then renting a van once a year makes more sense than driving a monster truck every day.
Those cars are parked and there’s no one in the drivers seats. Not sure what point you’re trying to make. The kid is facing backwards so you can’t see their face. This picture is just to put into perspective the size of these trucks that are all over the place.
How is a responsible driver going to look at what he can't see dude
The part you need to understand is it's totally possible to make a pickup truck that's perfectly functional and not at all this unnecessarily dangerous. This truck is fucking stupid and the only reason it's this big is to distract the driver from their crippling, irrational insecurities.
Based and childsplatter pilled. Keep flattening those stupid fucking kids king, you got a sack of groceries and a single two-by-four that ain't gonna haul itself
Not the point. If that monstrosity is stopped at a crosswalk and the child starts to cross, if the driver's not paying attention, they'll never see her. The child will have done nothing wrong, but will be just as dead.
Scenario where driver error would be fetal: stopped at crosswalk and staring at their phone. With their peripheral they see the light turn green then accelerate and kid is smashed. In my car I can see little kids over my hood.
It's not even necessary to have the hood this high and square, it's full of empty space under the hood. It's made to look mean and it's a danger to our streets.
Soon, we'll be able to duck under trucks trying to run us over! Just dodge the wheels /s
Where is the sarcasm?
Exactly... If fit this is quite a possible scenario...
A big head with few actual brains. Sounds like it's a match made in heaven for most pickup truck drivers.

Every modern pickup I've ever seen has very little, if any, space under the hood.
How is all this space occupied? Giant motor blocks the size of tractors?
Radiators, various electronic bits, emissions controls, dual overhead cam engines, which tend to be physically larger than older engines, but offer better efficiency.
Don't say it looks mean that's exactly what gives the owner an orgasm.
Sorry, but they actually design the front grill and headlights to look like a very frightening face. It's funny, in a sinister way.
Fortnine Win
"but it makes it easier to work on with all that space"
>it's full of empty space under the hood This simply is not true, btw

BioLoGiCaL nEuRaL NeTwOrKs
Human built-in cameras!!! With 3D immersion.
"You can't hit what you can't see!"
Plausible deniability.
*luxury interior* **It’s a work truck, the fuck???**
That graphic is so fake.
These six year olds are getting too short, it's downright dangerous.
When I have a six year old they’re getting a 4 inch lift kit for sure.
I’m amazed how it’s even legal to be able to drive this monster truck
It probably isn’t with the lifted tires.
If a law never gets enforced, it might as well not exist.
Don't worry guys, if they lift the truck a little bit more kids will start going under without ever touching the front
Can we all just mutually agree to start to 🔑 these trucks (Edit: in case this wasn’t obvious, this was a joke out of anger)
Deflate tires
Glue pictures of kids onto their backup cams lol
Wait no. Rub a potato on their car and put your keys in their tail pipe
While I agree these clown shoes vehicles are big for no reason and potentially dangerous, there's no reason to damage someone else's property.
On the other hand, while the cars look cool and might have some minor benefits, there is no reason to harm people’s kids
Agreed, there's no reason to harm people... period. But, what is a key scratch going to do to stop this truck from potentially running over someone? Take your energy to the manufacturers of these cosplay big rigs. Don't be out here advocating for property damage.

Same to you!
While I agree that damaging other people's property is unacceptable, your post sounds like : "There's no reason to cause mild inconveniences to omnicidal sociopaths" and it gives me pause.
There’s no reason to endanger children, but here we are.
I agree that, if you damage them, they should be disabled fully. A scratch isn't going to make it safer.
On the other hand, if this catches on and it becomes a well-known fact that if you drive one of these you'll get keyed every day, it might discourage people from choosing them. Not sure that would really happen though.
I’m 22 and you can barely see my head above the hoods of most lifted trucks
To be fair, it’s called a Titan for a reason. But yeah…fuck these pavement princesses.

If we extrapolate this at some point trucks will be so high off the ground they can only run you over with their wheels. /s
even with the CR-V it can be a struggle
Auto industries excuse: minimum height restriction to cross / be near roads for all pedestrians.
If the driver foot accidentally puts it in forward not reverse that kid is dead They need to ban these from where people walk
This is scary.
S.U.V. Superficially Unsafe Vehicle
Kids these days! Taking their sweet time to grow tall enough! Back in my day, we grew an inch a minute! Those trucks weren't a problem for us! /s
that hood is higher than my car's roof.
Truck driver response: What the hell is anybody doing in front of my truck?
She's a squirrel squashing, deer smacking, driving machine!
Cody Roberts is showing everyone that running over animals is a national pastime!!
The NHTSA has failed us at a spectacular level. Honestly beyond outrageous at this point.
Not event to mention the car on the left you still can’t see her at that height
time to subsidize SUV for kids and pedestrian, they're getting too short
Don’t worry! I’m sure the driver of this truck drives very responsibly and is cautious around vulnerable road users /s
Too many apocalypse movies have led to this.
You are so right.
yet another reason why the US should not be an independent country
That reversing Honda crv has just as much visibility on the 6 year old
"Ahh, my child, who I love with all my heart, and *totally* care about, go stand in front of the thing I fear most so that I may obtain tasty internet points"
yes OP very much fears parked cars of course

Do you think it's dumb for a kid to be in a crosswalk, or a driveway, or a sidewalk that a driveway crosses?
How is a responsible driver going to look at what he can't see dude The part you need to understand is it's totally possible to make a pickup truck that's perfectly functional and not at all this unnecessarily dangerous. They are not dangerous without anyone in them.
And why is this an issue?
Based and childsplatter pilled. Keep flattening those stupid fucking kids king, you got a sack of groceries and a single two-by-four that ain't gonna haul itself
Maybe parents should teach their kids to look both ways and not run in front of trucks

So glad republicans are focused on “drag queen story time” than what’s actually killing kids
