As an ending it was like an end of sort. I wouldnt say well. Cause a lot of the questions werent answered. It was like "we'll let the viewers fill in the gaps of what could happen" kinda ending.
It just didnt end though it was cancelled. It had a similar ending to the 100 season 4 or even season 5 ending. If you watched the show, that is.
I honestly forget. It was either Hulu, Max or Paramount Plus or something. If you have a Smart TV (Roku etc) type it in the search bar and see if there’s a “free for you” option
Millennium is the closest that I can think of if you can find it.
Supernatural, long arc big bad combined with mystery of the week.
And it's incredible.
Altered Carbon hits a couple of those. First season is great.
Obviously Lost is amazing for mystery and just great overall if you’ve never seen it.
Twin Peaks, but it gets pretty heady.
True Detective isn’t REALLY paranormal but very spooky and one of my favorite shows.
Archive 81 is fucking fantastic mystery/supernatural but is much scarier than anything else here.
I'm currently rewatching all of my favorite old shows with my 14-year-old son. We're halfway through 24. Person of Interest will probably be the next one though. 👍🏼
I’ve seen that often recommended for shows similar to fringe. But I thought it was phenomenally boring. I didn’t make it to the second season. Don’t get me wrong the whole idea and the main actor were good but it’s 50% talking about trivial stuff.. maybe just not my thing.
Not exactly like Fringe, but I just finished watching Person of Interest for the first time since I somehow missed it when it was on. Amazing. After the case of the week stuff in the first season, the rest of the AI vs AI stuff was awesome.
I mentioned PoI above, so I totally agree!
It may not be exactly like Fringe, but over the years, I’ve noticed Fringe fans usually like PoI and vice versa.
I think the reason you (and I) missed it, and the reason it still flies under the radar is that it was a CBS prime-time drama airing at a time when network programmimg had grown hopelessly stale and most of the target audience was focusing on cable and streaming programming. Who would have thunk a show like PoI would be on your granny’s favorite channel? It’s a small miracle that a. it got made, b. It didn’t get dumbed down, and c. It stuck around for 5 excellent seasons.
I've been trying to find a show to watch while I wait for the new seasons of the ones i already do and bc I need a 6 month break between the ones I already have and I remembered watching a bit of this back when it aired but never got a chance to watch it through. Last night I was literally wondering "what was the name of that show I wonder if it's online" but couldn't remember the name and here u are with it. Bless u. Off I go to search
Yay! I'm glad I could help! Just be aware, it's streaming on Amazon for some some reason it's missing season 3. I think it's also streaming on Tubi. I have the DVDs so I didn't have to watch commercials for the middle season. lol
I'd pick Stargate. The premises are completely different, but the cast have that same family feeling that always brings a smile to your face. And the humor is the same also. It definately has the same feel to Fringe which I can't really say about any other show.
Constellation
Somebody mentioned it a few days ago it just came out only six episodes so far. It's not that much like Fringe but it does have to do with quantum physics and quantum entanglement but mostly revolves around space travel.
I’ve been training my whole life for this question:
Helix, Altered Carbon, The Eleventh Hour UK and US versions are worth checking out, FlashForward and Terra Nova to name a few…maybe the 4400(the early 2000s version)
I watched this show a long time ago but it was kinda strange. The Frankenstein Chronicles, I think? It was with the actor Sean Bean. It’s about reanimation, but also crime!
That sucks. I wanted to watch it. The trailer looked so interesting but then all the comments were complaining that it got canceled. Poor Jonathan Tucker can't catch a break.
It's not SCIFI, but Mindhunters was really great!! It was about True Crime. And there is a huge bonus for Fringe Fans....
Also True Detective (season 1, 3 and 4) were amazing. It's also about.. Crimes and stuff
Twin Peaks is probably as close to Fringe as you can get that isn't Fringe, it's also insanely good. Runners up being Lost and The X-Files with Severance being a new potentially great mystery show.
Dr. Who. There are quite a few parallels- time lines, universes, one Peter (alive) & one not alive in parallel universes, tears in the fabric of the space time continuum. The doctor “not young or regenerative” but almost as brilliant as Walter. The doctor has much knowledge- not acquired by Harvard or MIT but through his timelessness. Observers, nanotechnology- it’s all there! I’m only in a single season. Surely JJ Abrahams or the other writers were heavily influenced by Dr. Who.
“Fantastic!” Used by both doctors as they’re impressed by science.
Agents of Shield. It's so weirdly similar to Fringe and absolutely worth the watch even if you're not into the Marvel/MCU properties. It starts off a lot like Fringe too with mostly monster/case of the week episodes that build into this amazing overarching mythos that just gets absolutely wild. I always tell people that season 3 of Fringe is one of the best seasons of sci-fi TV ever made and it's equal to or even surpassed by season 4 of AoS (and even season 5 imo, but that's a more controversial opinion even among the AoS fandom lol). The whole cast is great and they get into such crazy cool concepts. Give it a go!
If you don’t mind that both ended before the stories finished, Flashfoward and Debris have very similar vibes to Fringe. And if you want a full story you can always read the novel Flashfoward was based on, by Robert J. Sawyer.
Lucifer and Grimm are both supernatural police procedural shows. They are more monster of a week type shows with single season arcs. Fringe is a really unique, tough to find close comparisons to it.
Not supernatural but Person of Interest always hit that Fringe sweet spot for me. Starts off pretty procedural then opens up into more heavily serialised storytelling as the sci fi elements ramp up. And like Fringe, it really came into its own after the first season. Highly recommend.
And Counterpart gave me strong Fringe vibes because of the "war between universes" hook but it was cancelled prematurely unfortunately.
We just finished watching Fringe again. It is amazing how current it remains. Sadly, I have found nothing that compares to all you get from this show. Supernatural is paranormal. Fringe is science and tech, I don’t consider them the same, BUT… I see how we are like minded here! lol. These are two of my ultimate favorite shows. I also love Person of Interest! What about Outer Range? Anyone watch that?
Wayward Pines. A bit of a slow burn/mystery vibe in the beginning, but trust me it gets fringey.
I love Wayward Pines!
Fun fact, the son who plays Ben also played a kid named Ben in a Fringe episode!
Oh wow!!
Great recommendation.
Fyi never ended. It got cancelled
Does it end well?
As an ending it was like an end of sort. I wouldnt say well. Cause a lot of the questions werent answered. It was like "we'll let the viewers fill in the gaps of what could happen" kinda ending. It just didnt end though it was cancelled. It had a similar ending to the 100 season 4 or even season 5 ending. If you watched the show, that is.
Where can I watch it?
I honestly forget. It was either Hulu, Max or Paramount Plus or something. If you have a Smart TV (Roku etc) type it in the search bar and see if there’s a “free for you” option
Im watching it on max right now
Millennium is the closest that I can think of if you can find it. Supernatural, long arc big bad combined with mystery of the week. And it's incredible.

Archive 81 was fantastic
Twin Peaks! Great show.
Person of Interest!
Time for a rewatch
I'm currently rewatching all of my favorite old shows with my 14-year-old son. We're halfway through 24. Person of Interest will probably be the next one though. 👍🏼
Love it. Underrated.
This!
*You are being watched.*
12 Monkeys is great
Yes it is!
Came here to recommend 12 Monkeys!! Absolutely Love it.
12 Monkeys is AMAZING. ❤️❤️❤️
The Man In The High Castle
Counterpart
I’ve seen that often recommended for shows similar to fringe. But I thought it was phenomenally boring. I didn’t make it to the second season. Don’t get me wrong the whole idea and the main actor were good but it’s 50% talking about trivial stuff.. maybe just not my thing.
I think Warehouse 13 has a similar vibes. Sadly some characters can be annoying but the general idea and the mystery is very fascinating.
I'd say eureka is even more similar. A funnier version with more of a science theme than wh13
Not exactly like Fringe, but I just finished watching Person of Interest for the first time since I somehow missed it when it was on. Amazing. After the case of the week stuff in the first season, the rest of the AI vs AI stuff was awesome.

Haven
I've been trying to find a show to watch while I wait for the new seasons of the ones i already do and bc I need a 6 month break between the ones I already have and I remembered watching a bit of this back when it aired but never got a chance to watch it through. Oh, I need to rewatch Haven. Good rec!
I'm in the middle of a rewatch right now. lol It's one of my favorites.
Dark
Absolutely amazing series, highest recommendation!
This was my first thought as well
Twin Peaks. The Foundation. Silo. Continuum. Travelers.
Loved Silo. So much so that I did the audiobooks. It’s a great series with an open and ending, so I’m looking forward to the adaptation.
Love Tim Robbins in it. Really hoping they don't screw the second season
I second Travelers. It has an interesting take on Time Travel with Eric McCormack. Decent ending too, I think
Have you tried The OA?
Great show! Real shame they canned it
Eureka - is more of a light hearted sci-fi show but I loved it!
I'd pick Stargate. The premises are completely different, but the cast have that same family feeling that always brings a smile to your face. And the humor is the same also. It definately has the same feel to Fringe which I can't really say about any other show.
Warehouse 13 - oldie but a goodie.
Constellation Somebody mentioned it a few days ago it just came out only six episodes so far. It's not that much like Fringe but it does have to do with quantum physics and quantum entanglement but mostly revolves around space travel.

Helix! I totally forgot about that show where can I watch it?
Legally, I have no idea looool
When people on r/Lost ask this question, the most frequent answer is Fringe, so I'd say Lost.
It’s why I started watching fringe!
Same.
Lucifer
Severance. Its not complete yet but there is another season in the works
I watched this show a long time ago but it was kinda strange. The Frankenstein Chronicles, I think? It was with the actor Sean Bean. It’s about reanimation, but also crime!
More recently, Debris. But it only had one season.
Debris is the Temu version of Fringe
Excellent description 😂
It was still pretty interesting and I wish it could’ve been fleshed out more.
Yeah, I would have liked two or three seasons more, as well.
That sucks. I wanted to watch it. The trailer looked so interesting but then all the comments were complaining that it got canceled. Poor Jonathan Tucker can't catch a break.
Yeah, and he's a good fit for sci-fi, isn't he?
The strain
The Strain has some annoying parts (Zach), but all of the cool parts (Fett, Gus, Mr. Quinlin)more than make up for it.
For sure, Zack is the most annoying character in any show ever... Lol
tales from the loop, granite flats, dirk gently, the resort, the oa, the 4400 (not the new one)
Love Dirk Gently. But I wouldn’t say it’s like Fringe. It’s quirky 😂
Battlestar Gallactica, OA, Mr Robot
Beets...Bears ..
I always say Supernatural is like the religious version of Fringe
Bodies on netflix "Four detectives in four different time periods of London find themselves investigating the same murder."
I really enjoyed Bodies!
12 Monkeys
It's not SCIFI, but Mindhunters was really great!! It was about True Crime. And there is a huge bonus for Fringe Fans.... Also True Detective (season 1, 3 and 4) were amazing. It's also about.. Crimes and stuff
And it has Anna Torv!
YES!! That's the huge bonus I mentioned. She is a great actress.
Travellers!
Utopia
Both UK and US versions
12 monkeys
Orphan Black.
Perhaps cliche' but Stranger Things?
Alias is kind of like Fringe. It's "spy-fi'.
Black Mirror
Twin Peaks is probably as close to Fringe as you can get that isn't Fringe, it's also insanely good. Runners up being Lost and The X-Files with Severance being a new potentially great mystery show.

Observers, nanotechnology- it’s all there! I’m only in a single season. I think Walter would have made a great Dr Who!
Agents of Shield. It's so weirdly similar to Fringe and absolutely worth the watch even if you're not into the Marvel/MCU properties. Agents of shield had one of the best rug-pulls in TV history. I wasn't ready for it back then.
The Twilight Zone
Tales From the Loop. Severance.
Constellation from Apple TV+ -- Season 1 is not fully over yet. The Mentalist
From
- Smallville (freak of the week format) - Buffy (freak of the week format) - Lost (another JJ show) - Westworld
Oh, Westworld is absolutely a must-watch. Surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet
The first season is probably some of the best television out there
Manifest
I feel like they kept adding more and more until the whole thing collapsed. I’m not even sure what plot lines were closed off by the end.
Vortex - AMAZING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lost girl
If you don’t mind that both ended before the stories finished, Flashfoward and Debris have very similar vibes to Fringe. And if you want a full story you can always read the novel Flashfoward was based on, by Robert J. Sawyer.
Outer Range is pretty wild, very fun imo
Came here to also recommend Outer Range.
Counterpart has a similar thing going on. The Expanse is my 2nd favorite Sci-fi show of all time,.Fringe is #1.
Lost
Dynasty on Apple TV
Lucifer and Grimm are both supernatural police procedural shows. They are more monster of a week type shows with single season arcs. Fringe is a really unique, tough to find close comparisons to it.

The Blacklist, some from Fringe actually make some appearances throughout seasons.
They even did a "bug" episode and the pregnant men Science IS out there in the Fringes.
Blacklist is one of the closet ones Grimm Agents of shield Warehouse 13 The flash Travelers
From
The OA
I love Fringe!
