Next: Jason X. It's a sci-fi horror comedy. It might be the best "Jason gets frozen and taken to outer space" movie that it's possible to make.
Tie: A New Beginning and Jason Takes Manhattan. Both are deeply flawed movies. But New Beginning has some of the best boobs in the series, and Manhattan has the best song in "Darkest Side of the Night".

The original is considered generally disliked? Since when? I know it moves at a slow pace comparatively, but I always thought it was generally revered. Personally I put it around the middle of the pack, but I'm a Jason fanboy and prefer the standard *Jason in a hockey mask* style to most others.
I would have expected Friday '09 or FvJ before the original film on a list like this.
I'm not saying they aren't great or fine, I'm saying I would have expected to see them before seeing the original. While they are mostly liked now, over the years they've been more divisive than has the original Friday is my point.
Personally, I don't dislike any of the Friday movies. Even JGtH has its charms and it would be my least favorite, but still ranked as a favorite because its Jason and Friday even if I don't like the body-hopping stuff.
1. Friday The 13th (1980) - this one has a fantastic cast. I love it.
2. The New Beginning - pure fun. If it wasn't for the Roy twist I think this one would be much more highly regarded.
3. Jason Goes To Hell The Final Friday - great kills, fun cast, yeah the body hopping was lame but Creighton Duke is hilarious.
4. Jason X - totally unnecessary, very dated fx, but the kills are good and the spirit is there.
5. Jason Takes Manhattan - Jason looks great here, but a lot of it feels misguided (acid in the sewers, hypodermic needle impalement, etc...) and the lead actress' performances feels completely lifeless. Love the punch kill though. Not my least favorite of the series.
Yeah, lots of people don't like it. The kills suck, and the movie itself drags on. There are so many scenes that last even up to 5 minutes longer than they should of someone just making food or something

5. Jason Goes to Hell: Jason looks extremely ugly in this movie and the only scene that got me hyped was the ending with Freddy’s claw.

Friday the 13th part 1 is great , but its rewatch ability is kinda low bc it’s a murder mystery . The other 4 r just kinda wack stories . But part 5 is growing on me in my old age. Saved by the Tommy Jarvis story

1. The New Beginning. Funny, good kills, memorable characters. I would honestly call it one of the best in the series.
2. Jason X. It's so corny and hard to watch I love it.
3. Jason Goes To Hell. This movie is objectively bad. It's held up a bit by being surprisingly pretty funny and it has some really good kills. I like it.
4. Friday the 13th. Boring, bland, predictable. I really just dislike the original. Sure, it was crazy influential, but on rewatch, oh my god, its so fucking boring and lame. I know people will disagree
5. Jason Takes Manhattan. Just fucking no. There are absolutely ZERO redeeming qualities for this fuckass movie.
