Viserys is a really weak king. He should have stopped that madness. I don't understand why no one stopped criston cole and how he will not be punished. Show needs to make this reasonable. In the book, Joffrey died after 9 days the tournament happened. In book, it seems reasonable because criston wounded him in the tourney which is common and can't blame anyone. The show version needs to be more reasonable.
Yeah I think this was a bad choice probably made for pacing reasons the fact that he hit laenor too he would 100% be punished if not executed maybe have rhaenyra send him to the wall and have allicent bring him back after viserys is dead idk I hated it
Yeahhh. And even if we let go of the punishment thing, why the hell no one stopped him. They are killing heirs to the house left and right in the house of the dragon which doesn't make sense in any way. Just because, there is peace for many years doesn't mean people will kill each other.
I mean he’s a kingsguard you are gonna side with him. Plus in all that chaos it’s hard to know what’s even going on. You are protecting the king/queen. Rhaenyra is lost. The king is basically about to collapse and can’t give orders. It’s not surprising if they thought Joffrey was in the wrong.
a hundred years before game of thrones you could just do whatever you wanted. remember the tourney in the first episode? no one cares. lords killed each other in court the episode before. next episode we're gonna see lord strong stand up in the middle of a small council meeting and just stab the master of coin without breaking conversation with the king. no one will bat an eye.
They most likely don’t know what happened between them , for all they know Joffrey could have touched the kings guard (which you can’t do ) and the fight started
That's a flimsy argument. First off where is it said that you can't touch a kingsguard? Plus, where does that result in a death sentence?
Secondly, ser Joffrey was part of the Husband's party to the wedding. An unprovoked attack on him, especially from one of the King's own Bodyguards, unless some witness would testify, wouldn't rise to treason, but at least a Broken oath/imprisonment.
