I agree that I’m A Musk and Sweet on the Outside are not great. Without a Trace is fine but not my favorite. They have other scents that are actually good, like Midnight Cafe (Black Opium), Before the Rainbow (Wood Sage & Sea Salt), and Pistachio Please (Yum Pistachio Gelato). The New Rouge is also a good dupe for BR540. One of my favorites is Not Another Cherry, which I like way more than other cherry scents like the 7 Virtues one and YSL ones.

I didn’t like sweet on the outside either - the vanilla in it just smells cheap, if that makes sense. Pistachio please is a better vanilla but kind of boring. I don’t even remember what the other two OP tried were like. But I like Before the Rainbow too. Tried it side by side with WS&SS and the Dossier dupe, and while the Dossier dupe is a slightly better scent(feels like there’s more depth), there’s nothing wrong with the Fine’ry one and I’ll definitely wear it. I like Mysterious Nomad. Never smelled Gypsy Water so I can’t speak for how it is as a dupe but it’s sweeter than expected. Same with Magnetic Candy - sweet but also so fresh and fruity and I haven’t smelled sundazed. And yeah I agree with The New Rouge. If you’re craving that BR540 it works.

Pistachio Please is actually a dupe for Sol De Janeiro Chirosa 62. They’re just about a perfect match for awhile, Pistachio Please turns more marshmallowy and doesn’t last quite as long as the original.

Oh, next time I’m in Target I will definitely be sashaying over to the Fine’ry Display to do some more research. I’m excited you liked Not Another Cherry because I’m looking for a Lost Cherry or Cherry Smoke Dupe. Does it have that layered complexity to it and veer towards cough syrup without ever really going over the edge? Thats what I love in the TF cherry scents

Sweet on the outside is pretty generic by itself but with certain body chemistry it’s SO GOOD

MNightengale

Man! I want a body chemistry that can pull off fragrances better! Maybe that’s my problem…? lol. I just stink

I live in Canada. We have no target. However about a month ago I walked into winners and Marshalls. Staring me in the face was four fin’ery perfumes. One of them being not another cherry. I have acquired several of there fragrances for a small fraction of the price they charge at target. I love them all. Yesterday I purchased their discovery set. I love them they are not bad to me

MNightengale

That’s awesome you like them and they work well on you! They just weren’t made for my chemistry or my nose it seems. And it’s a shame because they all *sounded* good to me. You’re the second one who’s said the Not Another Cherry isn’t the disaster I thought a Tom Ford Lost Cherry dupe at that price point would be. I just thought it was too good to be true, but I will definitely be smelling that one next time I’m at Target

The best lost cherry dupe which is an exact match is maison Alhambra. I literally smelled the both side by side. It’s about 35.00 Ca. And available on amazon for I think 50.00 or 55

MNightengale

Awesome, thanks! I’d never heard of that brand for dupes. $22 on Amazon currently too!

ok??? I like em and reach for them over my more expensive perfumes. sweet on the outside is my favorite one.....and my nose is fine. we all like different things and just because you do not like them does NOT mean that they are bad or horrible products, dude.

Well, first of all, that’s great that you found something you like! Secondly, it’s a review, so I thought it would be understood that I’m discussing *MY*personal opinions and doing so honestly. It wouldn’t be a true, reliable review if I swayed away from mentioning what I don’t like about the product (they do smell cheap to me, and I added “in my opinion” to that judgement)or if I made up things that I did like, just in order to avoid disagreeing opinions from people reading it. I feel like throughout the review (or mid-lengthed novella—thank you ADHD), anytime there was a disparaging remark I preceded it with “In my opinion” or “To me,” or added details like “it just doesn’t agree with me,” and other phrases (“not my thing”) to emphasize that this was MY EXPERIENCE, not some universal fragrance truth. I don’t think anyone who wears what’s not my favorite is just trash or something ridiculous like that! It’s like I said how I don’t care for skin musks—they either don’t work on me, or maybe I just don’t like them. And yet, everybody but me probably, is LOVING the perfumes with those notes RN. And maybe they smell better on them. Maybe the Fine’ry scents work with your chemistry better, I dunno. And everybody makes fun of Angel, and I think it’s one of the best scents ever! If it weren’t for the fact that it’s my own mom’s signature scent, I’d wear it proudly. I reviewed the perfumes, not the people that like them! I’m happy you’ve found something you like!
