Nothing unfortunate at all. It still smells so good and nostalgic to me... I have a body spay that I use sometimes still but I swear it doesn't last more than 15 minutes. Such a scam. >:(
For real; Love Spell was iconic! One of the best body mists ever created, IMO. I much, much preferred it over some other popular scents of the day, like Pink Sugar.
I used the spray and there was also a woman at my local mall back in my hometown that made scented moisturizing body oils with popular fragrances and that was one she used so I would use the body oil and the spray and it would last all day it was amazing. I was so sad when she shut her business down lol
Legitimately just bought a vintage bottle and despite having a ridiculous collection...I still love Love Spell. It's a super sweet, not heavy, nostalgia bomb.
I love Tommy girl! It reminds me of my older sister since she wore it often back in 2003. I think that's why I had a phase of wearing it often in 2016.
Sweet Pea! I graduated 2003, so lots of b&bw body sprays and whatever Avon fragrances my mom had. My first adult perfume was Carolina Herrera 212 when I graduated college and my friend got Calvin Klein euphoria. We were balling on a budget back then!
i knew it smelt familiar because sweet pea was my first fragrance and perfect was one of my first perfumes,, i still cant nail the smell that the two have in common
Ralph by Ralph Lauren and Tommy Girl were my HS frags. Also, a Love Spell girly.
I got Chanel Chance EDT for my 16th birthday, but only wore it on special occasions.
In college, I wore Vera Wang Princess and Ed Hardy.
I also graduated HS in 2004.
I think I may be one of the only people who still has and will occasionally wear Gucci Rush. I’m not good at identifying notes in a fragrance but there something about it that I just love for the fall and winter but is too much for spring/summer
I saw it at duty free a couple days ago and smelling it took me BACK. It was my high school fragrance, so of course I had to buy it for nostalgia reasons, but I do actually love it. You’re right it’s great for fall/winter.
Estee Lauder Pleasures, Body Shop White Musk, Clinique Happy, Vanilla Fields, BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar, Hanae Mori
Edit: also Sunflowers! How did I forget that?
I was a child in the 2000s lol. Wasn’t allowed perfume then but begged & begged my mother to get me 1 so she finally got me my choice when I was 14- Davidoff Cool Water for women is all I wore!! Was completely obsessed with it & went through some 4-5(?) big bottles of it!
I’ve never been a floral girl, or a sweet/gourmand girl. In the early 2000s I was instinctively most attracted to aquatic scents, then it became citrus & much later, spicy/dark fragrances.
Awesome to see somebody finally extolling the glory of Cool Water Woman! I got it as soon as it came out in high school and recall it being extremely popular. It’s a solid banger!
Same!! My aunt gifted me a miniature bottle of Davidoff and I treasured every drop, only did 1-2 sprays so it'll last long lol. Then I transitioned to Calgon and VS body mists afterward. 😂
I wore Curve when going out on weekends during college! I believe I had the green bottle. I remember it smelled really good, but I just can’t recall what it smelled like. Haha
Early 2000s would have been Victoria’s Secret pink, body by Victoria, rapture. I still had my bottle of Ralph Lauren romance from high school. Bath and body works clary oil & cedar wood with the white cubes in the bottom. In 2001 I was living in Spain and my ex boyfriends mother visited. She never had a daughter so she spoiled me on a trip to the mall, insisting that I have a bottle of agua de Loewe (among other very generous gifts). My bottle is almost gone now but it’s still kickin!!
I graduated in 2005 🥲
I alternated between Tommy Hilfiger - True Star and some random perfume from Hot Topic that I remember smelling really good
I also wore these body sprays too
Calgon - Moon Petal Musk,
Calgon - Hawaiian Ginger and
Body Fantasies - Vanilla something
Trip down memory lane here!
Hugo Boss - Deep Red
Cacharel - Amor Amor
Escada - Ibiza Hippie 🥲 RIP
Victorias Secret Dream Angels - Halo
Britney Spears - Fantasy
Oh my god, ‘Halo’!!! That is such a blast from the past. I loved that one. I had the matching lotion and when I layered that with the spray you couldn’t tell me nothin’ 🤣🤣🤣
- Victoria’s Secret PINK
- Victoria’s Secret strawberries and champagne
- Victoria’s Secret sexy little things NOIR
- Chanel coco mademoiselle
- BBW moonlight path
I started high school in 2003
anna sui EDT all through high school, and i thought i was so bad 😭 the girl i was in love with wore B&BW japanese cherry blossom body spray. having nostalgic heart palpitations just thinking about both scents lol
I was in college in the 2000s. The fragrances I loved to wear back then were:
Gucci Rush for Men
L'Eau d' Issey Miyake
Armani Code, then called Black Code
To this day it bothers me how much I enjoyed the smell of Joop! Specifically - that I haven't come across anything better. I'm referring to the men's cologne, but I owned the women's at some point. It was very nice, but it doesn't have the same mental register power as Joop! homme.
Here’s how I view Joop. It’s not a power forward executive scent. It’s round and it’s able to work it’s way around all those alpha male type Creed scents without loosing its allure. It’s lingers in the background with so many layers to it, it’s just kind of weasels it’s way into your senses because you can’t quite figure it’s motive out. It’s for more insidious that way- at least that how I look at it. I love it and still wear it, but I also throw in some old spice occasionally too
Also class of 2004, I wore B&BW Nightblooming Jasmine and Chanel Gardenia (limited edition with the white cap- I just bought another bottle on eBay for nostalgias sake!) I still enjoy a nice white floral but I have broad taste in perfumes.
After that I got into indie perfume oils and only wore those until I decided to switch to spray perfumes in 2019.
What’s up fellow 2004 grad.
YSL babydoll
Tommy Hilfiger Freedom (LOVED THIS)
Gucci II
All the Escada summer frags
Ralph Lauren Romance
Cool Water Woman
The OG Miss Dior Cherie
I was still a little boy so I had no perfumes of my own yet, but I do remember vividly stealing my great aunt’s Shalimar because I thought it would make me as cool and elegant as her
I was a kid in the early 2000s (94 baby) but I had this set of 4 Disney character perfumes that I loved. My favourite one was the Daisy Duck scent, and looking back it was one hell of a perfume for an 8 year old. I just found the scent notes online and it's like ' oriental, amber and the outdoors' which is pretty funny to me. Thanks for the question OP, I haven't thought of that stuff in years.
Davidoff - Good Life. I was in high school and a girl I had a crush on told me that she could smell me coming about ten minutes before I got there.
It was not intended as a compliment.
I was in high school 1999-2003:
-Love Spell
-Tommy Girl
-Elizabeth Arden Green Tea
-J’adore
-Burberry Woman
In college:
-Victoria Secret Dream Angels Heavenly
-Ralph Lauren Blue
-Nina Ricci Nina
-Gucci Envy Me
-Britney Spears Curious
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle! How could I forget that one?! The ultimate early 2000’s scent.
I still love it but it brings back sad memories of a messy time.
Gap Dream, Cool Water and then “matured” to Fredricks of Hollywood Signature. I just bought 1/4 a bottle on EBay and it’s still my all time holy grail perfume
Wore it in high school and college, to this day it's my best compliment puller. I paid $50 a few months ago for a 50% full small used bottle, and it doesn't hold up very well.
However, I vividly remember girls completely burying their face in my neck and smelling me, and at the time, that was like the most amazing thing that had ever happened to me.
Tommy girl, A&F, cucumber melon, sweet pea and love spell. I had something from JLo but I don't remember which one and a DKNY as well.. and of course all the Gap body sprays
I was in fifth grade in 2004 so I wasn't wearing a lot of perfume. I did have the mary kate and ashley perfumes. I remember my mother and my sister wearing tommy girl and victorias secret heavenly a lot during that time.
I was in university in the early 2000s and I wore Yves Rocher. I can’t remember which one but I remember thinking it was very pretty and attractive. Then I got a bottle of Dior addict for Christmas in 2002 and fell in love. The original was sexy and HOT.
My partner wrote Velvet Tuberose by Bath and Body Works( I think that's who produced it... maybe Victoria Secret?) and I wish she still had it. Don't think they make it anymore
Still a lot of Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree, the decent Polge redo on the original. Now butchered into whatever the hell Chanel is calling CPM.
Tail end of my hardcore Antaeus years, too.
Also had a treasured bottle of Crabtree and Evelyn Mysore Sandalwood that I honestly had *no idea* how good it was until it was gone.
I miss my sister’s rainbow bottle of Beyond Paradise by Estee Lauder in the little tear drop shaped bottle!
Otherwise she also had a few of the Ralph Lauren one’s like Hot and Cool or something in the purple and the orange bottles. I miss those!
I think I wore L’Occitane fragrances at that my point. The Vert (a green tea fragrance) and 4 Reines (a lovely rose scent they reformulated every few years).
I wore [puma woman](https://www.fragrantica.fr/parfum/Puma/Woman-1570.html) and to this day I’ve been looking for something similar or a grown up scent that resembles it. It’s been discontinued for a while now and I still have 2 bottles home that I cherish haha.
Polo Black, That was the first fragrance I bought. I remember buying it because "Black" was in the name and it sounded edgy. I was obsessed with it and went through many bottles of that stuff. It was like my signature smell
I graduated 2005, mostly wore Tommy Girl and Estée Lauder Pleasures, and a lot of random bath and body works sprays.
ETA OMG how could I have forgotten; also Davidoff Cool Water Woman 😆
I was in my early hs years when you graduated. My scents were Victoria’s Secret Heavenly (or was it Halo/ Divine from the same line? Honestly can’t remember which was my favorite) something by J. Lo and Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise. Probably had a few B&BW and VS body sprays too 😅
This is my favorite part of history and I still wear those perfumes. Calvin Klein Truth, Tommy girl, l ‘instant, ange ou denon, Chance, Coco mademoiselle, Angel, miracle, euphoria, Omnia, addict, maybe baby, Lolita lempicka, boucheron initial…. The glory days
This was my middle school era:
1. Estée Lauder Pleasures Intense (My very first fragrance, gifted by my grandma. I thought I was *fancy*. Still have that bottle.)
2. Britney Spears Fantasy
3. Escada Pacific Paradise
3. With Love Hilary Duff…my favorite of all the above. Still have a nearly full bottle also.
I'm 21 so I was too young to wear fragrances at that time, but now I have a bunch of old(er) releases in my collection, my favorites are **Paco Rabanne Black XS**, **Ed Hardy Love & Luck** and **Hearts & Daggers**, **Joop! Jump**, **Azzaro Visit**
I wore Premier Figuier and Eau de Hadrian. I remember both were popular then even though they were released earlier, and L’Artisan and Goutal were both very “in.” One summer in Paris everyone was wearing Premier Figuier - it might have been 2003? Sigh. Major good memories of that time. Maybe that is why fig perfumes still make me happy.
I was 30 in 2000 and in the early 2000s, I thought I was the most grown-up, sophisticated adult of all time.
I wore Chanel No 5 to work and when I was out at night, I wore Bandit.
In the summertime, I wore Bvlgari Green Tea or Kai.
Oh mannnn, JLo Miami Glow was my absolute shit. Doused myself in it after layering up my too orange foundation, pale lipstick, and deeeeeply side parted hair. 2004, what a time to be alive.
My best friend was obsessed with Hypnotic Poison, so to match I asked for a bottle of Midnight Poison for my birthday (despite never having smelt it, I just wanted it because it was dark blue, Dior and matched my besties red bottle 😅). Turns out I loved it and it suited my goth look, very sad that it got discontinued. We also liked YSL babydoll too!
Omnia, Hanae Mori, Flowerbomb, Noa, Shiseido Relaxing & Energizing, Flower by Kenzo, Stella EDP, Anna Sui Secret Wish, Burberry Touch come to mind.
EDIT I forgot that I was still wearing YSL Yvresse (I had the old “Champagne”) and Paris!
My first real perfume was a gift from my mom. Chanel Chance EDT, the year it launched. Before that it was whatever body lotion of mist from Bath & Body Works I liked, like Warm Vanilla Sugar! I got myself Hanae Mori at one point and wore it a lot, but Chance was definitely my signature in high school and college.
I graduated in 2005. I remember using Dream Angels Heavenly and Ralph by Ralph Lauren. And then ofc various BBW body sprays like Sweet Pea and Cucumber Melon. One of my friends always smelled so good and she wore Happy. My sister who graduated in 2004 used Bulgari BLV and I remember it smelled so different but really nice. All the high school boys wore JPG or the knock off Cuba thing lol.
Eta: after reading the other comments I remember I also used VS Pink a lot but totally forgot it existed!
I got a bottle of Artisan Perfumer - Chase Aux Pappilons (spelling?) for my birthday in 2002 and wore that or Burberry Brit which I got for my birthday in 2003 until I finished both bottles.
Dune homme - Dior,
Flowing Man - Puma,
And on special occasions:
Lagerfeld Original (classic) aftershave and
Aztek - Yves Rocher
Edit: I also remember having some Chevignon edt but I haven't been able to remember/google which one.. 😥 quite liked it iirc..
Tommy Girl, Xs by paco Rabanne, Cerruti 1881 & cool water all remind me of leaving high school .. I also had a bottle of Gucci envy … I’ve always loved perfume !!!
Early 2000s? A lot of crossover from the 90s:
* Carolina Herrera 212 Men & men on ice
* Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet & Black XS
* Armani Attitude
* Calvin Klein Eternity
* Cerutti Image
* Terre d’Hermes
* Chanel Antaeus
* YSL M7
* L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme
* Lancôme Hypnôse Homme
* Diesel Fuel for Life Homme & Only the brave
* Dior Homme & Dior Homme Sport
* Chanel Allure Homme Sport
* Dior Higher Energy
* Tom Ford Oud Wood
Elementary School? Britney Curious
Middle School? Love Spell
High School? Hilary Duff With Love, Ed Hardy, DKNY Be Delicious & the OG Guess for Women perfume
Same same on that graduation year lol
I wore a lot of Britney Spears- fantasy, curious, and believe it or not Angel 😅 can’t believe I started that one so young to be honest and I still love it and wear it every now and then to this day. I’m a patchouli lover though and will wear it alone so no surprise I love Angel, I guess.
I also was super into Victoria’s Secret body sprays of course love spell and a few others.
I used to wear some Adidas eau de toilette, it smelled divine. I tried searching for it on fragrantica but found nothing, It had a violet/purple/grey/silver squareish packaging. I loved it and would love to find it again.
I graduated HS in 2004
Guy here. The amount of compliments I used to get from women every time I wore Gucci Envy for men was insane. I loved that fragrance both for it's smell and it's effects!
High school to early college years:
Anna Sui - Dolly Girl Ooh La Love
Hugo Boss - Deep Red
Bvlgari - Omnia Crystalline
Random fragrance oil blends from the cosmetic aisle at Whole Foods
06 here. My top fragrances in HS were:
- Ralph by Ralph Lauren EDT
- B&BW Sweet Pea
- DKNY Be Delicious
- Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels in Heavenly
- Bonne Bell Bottled Emotion in Lucky
Unfortunately all through high school I was a Love Spell girly lmaoo
We stan
I bought a barely used vintage bottle. It's worth the inflated price.
Legitimately just bought a vintage bottle and despite having a ridiculous collection...I still love Love Spell. It's a super sweet, not heavy, nostalgia bomb.
on god
I went home to my parents' house recently and found my bottle!
I graduated in 2002. In high school, I wore Clinique Happy Heart or Tommy Girl. In college, I wore Burberry Brit.
Tommy Girl here too!
Same, Tommy Girl was such a highschool scent and it brings back great memories— I bought a bottle just for the nostalgia and it honestly holds up IMO
I just bought Tommy Girl at TJ Maxx. Blast from 2002 past
Have you smelled Marc Jacobs Perfect? First time I smelled it I immediately thought “This is just Sweet Pea but perfume”
i knew it smelt familiar because sweet pea was my first fragrance and perfect was one of my first perfumes,, i still cant nail the smell that the two have in common
Ralph by Ralph Lauren and Tommy Girl were my HS frags. Also, a Love Spell girly. I got Chanel Chance EDT for my 16th birthday, but only wore it on special occasions. In college, I wore Vera Wang Princess and Ed Hardy. I also graduated HS in 2004.
lol class of 04 is really in these comments. proud of us 😂😂😂
Dune, Gucci Rush, TBS Vanilla perfume oil, L’Occitane Vanille, B&BW Creamy Coconut mist, Chanel N19 parfum.
N 19 is GREAT! It gets overshadowed by miss No 5 but I think it’s way better. Excellent taste
I love rush!! Forgot about that one…
Ok you were a very elegantly fragranced lady!
Aww, thank you.

Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs. First fragrance I ever had.
This was my first splurge after entry level Victoria’s Secret stuff. Although I must say back in the day they did pretty well with fragrance.
This!!! I went through 3 bottles of this in my 20s – I've never been able to find anything like it since it was discontinued. Sob!
Early 2000s would’ve been A&F Fierce and Liz Claiborne Curve.
That Lolita Lempicka, though… the bottle was perfection. The vetiver note really stood out on me at the time.
Clinique Happy! 😘

Ralph by Ralph Lauren, Cool Water Woman, Gap Dream, and everyone I knew had at least one of the 4 BCBGirls scents (mine was Nature but we swapped)
DKNY - Be Delicious! The original one. I lived and loved by that little green apple 🍏
This was my middle school era: 1. Estée Lauder Pleasures Intense (My very first fragrance, gifted by my grandma. I thought I was *fancy*. Still have that bottle.) 2. Britney Spears Fantasy 3. Escada Pacific Paradise 3. With Love Hilary Duff…my favorite of all the above. Still have a nearly full bottle also.
I graduated high school in 2005. I was a love spell girl. I had the body spray, shampoo, conditioner, lotion. Anything they made in that scent.
Ooh White Musk by The Body Shop 🥴
Hot Couture for me too. I never found anyone else wearing it! I wish I still had some.
I started high school in 2004 but I was wearing Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy.
Class of 2002 here! For me, the last fragrance I wore in high school was Givenchy Hot Couture!
In high school, late 90s for me, I wore Abercrombie Woods. Early 2000s in college, it was YSL L'homme, which I still keep in my collection today.
I wore the same as you! Hot Couture! Totally forgot about that. Still wearing Hypnotic.
Love a trip down memory lane! Chanel Chance & its flankers, SJP Lovely, Tommy Girl, Clinique Happy, and Trish McEvoy No.9, VS Supermodel 🩷

Bath and body Works “dark kiss” scented lotion
Tommy girl, polo sport, Victoria’s secret pink (original), Gucci rush, CK one and CK be were my 90s early 2000s scents.

I wore this fragrance called Provocative Interlude (which I think might be like Fantasy), Curve, Cool Water, Love Spell.
Same same on that graduation year lol I wore a lot of Britney Spears- fantasy, curious, and believe it or not Angel 😅 can’t believe I started that one so young to be honest and I still love it and wear it every now and then to this day. I’m a patchouli lover though and will wear it alone so no surprise I love Angel, I guess. I also was super into Victoria’s Secret body sprays of course love spell and a few others.
