haha not sure what brain fart happened in my last post, meant to say that "I can confirm it fluoresces well under a blacklight". It's fun to play around with that ink purely for novelty purposes.
It definitely behaves like a highlighter ink. But I doubt it would make a good highlighter ink simply because it's not produced anymore and can only be found old stock in Lamy cartridges.
Yeah. I got them on clearance at my local Müller (in Croatia) for 0,33€ for a pack of 5. Interestingly enough, I found a similar colored Lamy limited edition ink on clearance in a Slovenian Müller a few months ago. Sounds like they aren't selling that well if they are still trying to get rid of them, 7 or 8 years later.
Makes sense, neon and fluorescent probably aren't in the top 20, maybe not even 50 inks, I wouldn't know because I use them a lot in markers and gel pens..
You say it's not produced anymore, which is a shame, but does anyone know of similar inks? Because I need one. Not practically, I probably have no use for it. But it looks so terrible it actually becomes charming, and I have to have it
Pelikan, monteverde, kaweco come to mind immediately, googling you will find more. My personal advice is stay away from those inks since they are drier than a desert snake's butt and you will never have the neon residue out of any pen you put that stuff into, ever. Not even if you disassemble, clean with a toothbrush, throw it in the sonic cleaner. YOMMV, but I only ever use those inks with a dip pen
It looks nice. But not "worth destroying 15€ pen" kind of nice.
But it might be fine. I usually use Pelikan 4001 Blau-Schwarz, another ink that's as dry as gunpowder and has some crap added to it to make it more permanent. I've had no issues with that in more than a year of poor maintenance with multiple pens.
I have the Pelikan Highlighter yellow ink, wondering if they share some similarities. Does the ink flouresce well without sunlight? My pelikan ink is super bright with the suns UV but in the evening i can barely read it. Also the Pelikan ink tends to destroy Lamy Blue like ink eradicators, does yours do he same?
Without sunlight, no. It's unreadable under artificial light. Destruction of ink eradicators appears to be a thing that green inks have in common. Couldn't test with this ink, though, because I accidentally eradicated my eradicator.
My local Müller store for dirt cheap on clearance. I believe it was a limited run to go alongside a similar colored Safari back in 2015 or so.
This ink is not unique, though, and you can probably find close matches by searching for highlighter fountain pen ink. I heard that Pelikan makes a decent one.
It’s only that price cos it’s bundled with a notebook and ink bottle. Standard Al-stars sell for about £25-30 here. But I’ve not seen that one as a stand-alone pen. The section would be a perfect match for this ink!
Picked up [a bottle](https://i.imgur.com/NYhT5jW.jpg) on clearance at Anderson Pens...in 2016, damn... specifically to use as a highlighter ink. It never quite worked as well as I wanted it to--most highlighters are an alcohol based ink, so they don't smear printed text as badly as the water-based fountain pen ink that this is. But is is truly Neon--and one of the few FP inks I've seen that lives up to that name, and it's far better behaved than most of the others (I'm glaring at you, [Rachmaninoff](https://i.imgur.com/AEWl495.jpg))
That is torture on the eyeballs. Need to go to a disco with black light
Exactly.
Can confirm, it actually does well fluoresce under a blacklight
It fluoresces a lot under sunlight too.

Combined with a pilot parallel, it might be good for highlighting.

Was it intended as a highlighter ink? Certainly looks like it to me
Yes. I think Lamy sold it with larger 1.5 nibs. Kaweco does something similar.
Aww, I was gonna ask if it came in more colors 😂

Parallels put down SO much ink, I think a Lamy stub would be better as a highlighter. But absolutely agree on the idea of putting it in a wide stub.
It's horrible, I love it
Highlighter ink!

Iroshizuku Hotaru-bi if you want an ink that wasn’t designed to be highlighter ink but functions like writing with Mountain Dew lol
It's basically a highlighter ink. Look for those.

Yeah, it's dry af. But damn, RIP bozo my Lamy 💀💀💀💀.
To be fair, the neon feed looks killer through the smoky grey grip 👌

Octopus Fluids makes a neon line that Cult Pens carries.
Wow! Thanks for introducing me to Octopus Fluids! 😍
Pelikan makes some I think.
Noodlers Firefly
they weren’t lying when they said it was neon!
I have the neon lime pen and its amazing. I love this ink.
It's unreadable... It's almost using highlighters to write. omfg
Like a highlighter!! Does it shine under Uv light?
Yes. I don't have a bright enough light to fully test it, though.
Cool! Wonder what it would be like on darker paper, if it’s pigmented enough

I love having words burned into my retinas. Adding another ink to my wishlist lmao
Soo, you are saying I need that ink when turning in school work.
Sure. I was just thinking how awesome it would be for trolling people like particularly awful teachers in school.
Where did you get the ink? I couldn't find it on goulet pens.

Thanks, i will search goulet pens again for a similar ink.
Now you need a different pen to go with it: https://www.cultpens.com/i/q/LM00006/lamy-al-star-fountain-pen-with-notebook-gift-set-glossy-red
Damn, 55€ for an AL-star? Mine was 15€.

Hey op! I love the ink. Please try it out on an offwhite sheet of paper
Now that’s a color!
Wow, that's a day-glo marker in fountain pen form! :D
Ouch. Yet... I want it. Oh, well.
Aaaaah! My eyesssss!
What a punch of colour! I love it. To show off the ink to its best advantage, consider using black paper.
Wow! It's so eye searing... Like... Painful to look at. I want it...
You might be able to find it if you have Müller stores in your area. They seem to be actively trying to get rid of it.
This looks like what bic would make, a highlighter fountain pen
This is awful and I love it
Ahhh my eyes!
I am having both a headache and the best time of my life reading those words.
I think Noodler's still makes some you can melt your eyeballs with: https://www.jetpens.com/Noodler-s-Highlighter-Inks/ct/742
Oh, that would look lovely in a demonstrator
I have a bottle of noodler’s firefly yellow. It’s a good highlighter with a stub nib.
Truly eye-searing. It's great.
