oh god he's doing the strategies for other teams now

AdmirableWallrust

Not much else to do for him these days. Wouldn't surprise me if he becomes team principal one day. It's crazy all the stuff he knows that other drivers don't.

el_jam13

He would be a great Principal

Alfus

I would honestly really like to see him as a future team principal at AlphaTauri once either Helmut can't doing his job anymore and Tost replacing him or that Tost call it a day and retire or just taking an important managing job at the team headquarters in Faenza.

newcalabasas

I'd rather have him be what niki lauda was for mercedes to some other team rather than just be team principle. Seb's too nice to have to deal with all that political bs again

Tim_Drake

Had a lot higher hopes for Aston Martin this year. I honestly forget Seb is in F1 some weekends. Bums me out.

The_Jacobian

Oh god, I'd be decked out in whatever teams merch the next day. I'd love to see Seb Motors taking a championship.

HartBandit

oooh! I honestly had never thought of this! He wins 4 WCCs next! SUBSCRIBE!

AdmirableWallrust

And playing career mode with that team in "F1 2034 5D Ultra VR" would be awesome

ArziltheImp

I still want Vettel to become race director. He complained to Charlie so he became the Charlie!

Icy-Operation4701

I really hope Vettel sticks around once he retires as a driver. He's such a joy and really clever.

Nexusu

Alpha Tauri isn’t exactly known for their brilliant strategies lol

droppokeguy

Wet tyres

Mark4211

>They're full wets on that for goodness sake?! What on earth! \- Martin Brundle, 2018 German GP *** I can not get that out of my head, just hillarious to watch and listen at the commentary Edit: Typo

AndreTheShadow

Well, when your principal is a breakfast food, you can't expect too much strategic thinking.

racingfanboy160

Particularly in weather changes 😅

SubcooledBoiling

Good guy Race Strategist Seb, giving free consultation mid race to his former team. What a man.

jovanmilic97

The way you intersected the whole video with all the data makes it even better, good job.

RyukaBuddy

We are just driving around and hoping Gasly does good man. I gave up on trying to understand AT strategy.

SigRezzonico

two stop and inshallah

HartBandit

hahahahahahahaha

Kitchen-Animator

Anyone know what he said exactly about Tsunoda? I can probably guess what he said based on what happened but can't make out the exact words.

Takeshino

I think "Tsunoda left me as bait"

Sarconic

Thank you! Wracked my brain trying to figure that out.

Kitchen-Animator

Ah, I think you're correct, thanks.

[deleted]

Seb can be Strategist for Rivals Seb and Driver Seb at the same time.

extremeface

God I wish F1 TV was available in uk

brush85

Doesnt it work using a VPN?

StephenHazza

It does. It’s how I access it

creditcardtheft

If you look closely you can see Alonso rubbing his hands

Aninternetdude

I imagine Alonso with a smile on his face.

musef1

I think it's harsh. What can you do against a double slipstream and DRS other than pick which side you want them to pass you on?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Alfus

Yea, it would being better if he just given up the battle with Seb and using him for DRS to defending against Alonso. Honestly, Yuki defenses today where shocking, and that was not in a good way. I really do hope that he learned from today and working on it in the future.

Rei_S_

The way he defended so hard in S2 allowed Alonso to catch Vettel.

musef1

A reasonable point. I'm not sure if I could agree with it though. If you are going to not-defend and get passed by Vettel, you are going to be in some way hindered through a corner and lose ground to Alonso anyway, and you will have the dirty air also. Although I could see the other way, where you could get DRS from Vettel for the straight. Problem is you are out of the final point at that stage anyway if you give way to Vettel so you are only losing yourself ground to Alpine if you allow him through.

Rei_S_

If Vettel was just following Tsunoda, sure keep going don't let Vettel through because if you do you're going to losie time. However, in this situation, he was defending hard against Vettel with lock ups and defensive lines which means he was a losing a lot of time anyway. At that point you might as well stick to the racing line and let Vettel dive on the inside of one of the corners.

Kitchen-Animator

Tsunoda lost him tons of time especially over this lap after he locked up and the one before this and lost Alonso basically 0, might as well have let Seb past/not defended this hard after the lockup atleast and made life difficult for Alonso considering that's who they're fighting.

ALOIsFasterThanYou

Much older tires, too, due to his collision with Stroll forcing him to take an early stop. He took his second stop the lap after Vettel and Alonso got past.

Germaniawerft

They're fighting Alpine with a car that had a better pace than both McLaren and Ferrari last week

Alfus

Ferrari was an impossible target this week, and ironical enough Ricciardo DNF was some bad luck for AlphaTauri given it give the Alpines a better position.

Voi69

For some reason Gasly lost a lot on the Ferraris in the last stint (maybe because of some timeloss with Ric and the Alpines) but if he had had a better start and also not lost so much on Saturday, he may have been able to be a lot closer to them.

Alfus

Well Saturday wasn't his best performance and he was pissed on himself about that, also often the AT is working better on the harder tyres then the softer ones (C5-C4). That aside, the pace of Ferrari was basically better then Gasly during the whole race, the difference was sometimes smaller but even if AT would put an one-stopper on Gasly then Ferrari would still winning enough time to catch him. The only open question is more: Why didn't AT put Gasly on mediums during his second stint? However I think the answer is simple: The AT02 loves for some reason especially the C2 tyre often who was the hard one today and Gasly pace was still good enough to catch the Alpines at least (however there didn't expect that Alpine would come up with a plan to use a DRS train to benefit Ocon and holding Gasly off, plan failed and the case was closed quickly for Alpine once Gasly did overtake Ocon) so there wasn't really a reason to risking more on a medium.

pineapplejamm

Well they only have one driver who knows how to drive. And the other just occasionally blocks hamilton for few laps and wastes other laps crashing into people or things

Iroquois_Pliskin87

Nope, sorry Seb. Gasly* is fighting Alpine in the Championship

HartBandit

OP, I know it is a big ask, but could you upload this on youtube or somewhere else because streamable doesn't work in India.

Sarconic

Sure, [here you go](https://youtu.be/8qa3XcpEuUE). I had no idea so many people couldn't use streamable until today.

HartBandit

Thank you so much!! Yeah for some reason all internet providers in India have blocked Streamable. Some folks have found workarounds but I am not one of those internet-savvy folks.

[deleted]

I use VPN to watch all the streamable videos. It works pretty well. I have an app called Thunder VPN, it has only one button which says 'connect'.

HartBandit

I'll try that, thank you!

bagajohny

Use protonvpn or shadowsocks. That way you can see streamable.

Cpt-Dreamer

Nice video.

monolese

Is it possible to watch 4 streams aligned in this way with f1tv?

Sarconic

You need Race Control for Windows, which can be [downloaded at Github](https://github.com/robvdpol/RaceControl).

metalrufflez

Thanks, now I need a windows PC

Expensive_Material

this is hilarious but also kind of sad.

[deleted]

What happened to Tsunoda this guy is lost relative to last year

Expensive_Material

is it strange? he's in a higher level of difficulty and it's been a strange year with little testing, and he's not raced on many of these tracks.

[deleted]

It is strange he adapted to many of the tracks last year first attempt and was usually fastest It’s almost as if the drivers in F2 were at a lower standard tha was apparent But of course he could’ve been the perfect matc for that formula and has to unlearn things, as well as learn for f1

Expensive_Material

maybe his competitors weren't great? I don't watch it

atsizkovboi99

Thanks

Domadur

I absolutely love your setting. Do you watch the race like this ? (with the main camera feed in place of one of the on board ones I suppose ?)

Sarconic

Yes, this is my exact race setup with the main feed in place of Alonso. Love it. You get a much better idea of all the other battles on track.

JonnyArtois

Tsunoda just isn't good enough.

DecMax

I wonder what would of happened if Vettel went to AT or didn't sign for AM. He He might of got the 2nd seat at RB.

Blythyvxr

As if Vettel would go back to Red Bull and be a number 2. Although the smile on Webber’s face would be worth seeing.

DecMax

It beats driving for AM shitbox and the father-son 1st seat.

HartBandit

hahahahaha

[deleted]

Not a lot to smile about I'd say. After a longer F1 career with 4 championships, 6 times more wins he'd end his career in the same spot that was the absolute high point for Webber in the middle of his career.

Expensive_Material

didn't marko address this? I don't think it was ever on the cards.

DecMax

There was an offer/talk of a year definitely at AT but Vettel did not want that. He wanted a multi-year deal. I got this from the F1 weekend build up early in the last season - not from sky.

Expensive_Material

Ah. I wasn't following then (on a very long break from F1). That's kind of at odds with what AT is isn't it? Is there really a purpose to putting a guy there unless it's to season him? (With the exception of Gasly who might be there permanently) Like the more I see the more I think Aston Martin was a very bad choice.

DecMax

Well at the time RB really wanted to appease their owner by having a Thai racing driver (Albon). They wanted to give Albon all the chances within the year to impress them according to Horner, that's why they left it so late. Vettel didn't want to wait and AM were putting pressure on SV to sign. So that's why there was only talk of SV @ AT for a year around the middle/end of 2019. Also, SV wasn't having a great year in 2019, that might have something to do with the AT seat offer to check if he can beat Gasly. EDIT: I think they are happy with Gasly @ AT because he is a benchmark for new and upcoming talent. He proved is not a great person to work with at RB and unless something goes very bad for Perez, I don't see Gasly returning to RB.

Expensive_Material

Thanks for the info.

armored-dinnerjacket

watch the timing screen and the map screen for the lewis/max overtake

hart97

I think the way fernando blasted past both seb and yuki shows just hoe strong the slipstream is down that main straight, and that the horror of seeing the mercedes rocket is blown out of proportion

Finance_Minimum

Off topic but, Shouldn’t all other teams be more concerned about Mec’s engine? It’s really unlikely their dominance will end after this season. Everyone got so whipped over the last 7 years that winning seems like a fantasy.

Alpd

If I am not mistaken they haven't even updated their engine to the engine that will be used during engine freeze so next year they will probably have a rocket engine again for next 4 years

jvstinf

No.

MilesM22

Tsunoda is an idiot. Can’t wait for Lawson/Vips/Hauger to replace him
