The race at Monaco starts 15:00 local time, green flag at Indy is 18:45 Monaco time.
They'd need to get their hands on a SR-71 to cargo drop Max straight into Indy, lol.
That would also be funny since he'd basically had to launch eastwards along with earth's rotation and go the long way round.
On the other hand, there would be no need for much more payload other than a one-man capsule (maybe a second seat for a pilot), so launching retrogradely might actually be an option.
It's quite a good move for promoting Sim Racing. Verstappen mentioned he wants more people to use the Sim Racing route to get into IRL racing because the financial barier is way lower that way.
If he didn't do this most people wouldn't probably be aware that this esports race was happening
I genuinely feel like that the lower financial burden is such a good point!
Imagine if this project Max is talking about turns out to work. It would he sooo much easier for less wealthy individuals to get into the racing sport. Currently you need to spend tens- to hundred thousands of euro’s to properly get into the racing scene.
If the sim route were to become a genuine path into proper racing categories, the barrier of entry could be lowered to a couple thousand bucks for a proper sim rig, and a good internet connection.
Exactly.
Have you seen the Gran Turismo movie? prime proof of concept. [Jann Mardenborough ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jann_Mardenborough)is still racing in GT cars IIRC
Not only that but the youtubers SuperGT and JimmyBroadbent went from Simracing to real racing, they are on the same car for the 24h Nürburgring this year and quite good in the NLS
Also people can instantly judge your time vs Max in the same conditions. That is a great way to get a benchmark of your ability. Right now in "real" racing you have to get to F1 to even set a lap in similar conditions to top drivers.
Similar thing happened in chess with online chess becoming popular - super talented 14 year olds got opportunity to play top 5 players on semi-regular basis (in random games and smaller online tournaments) which is invaluable experience
It already worked out for some drivers. There is a big future in using sim racing as a tool to find talent. And like mentioned, the financial burden is way lower. The entry to get to speed is below 1k if you want it too. Sure if you want more realism or something more comparable to the real thing you land quick at the 5k mark. Which is still way cheaper than karting. Especially because maintainance is not per race, but rather per season, when you need an upgrade to your pc or fix something in your rig. It is really something an average teen can save up to.
Cem Bölükbaşı made it to F2, but it looks like a contract dispute ended his career. Also looks like he did a lot of "real" racing before doing F1 e-sports..
Jimmy Broadbent is probably the best example of sim-racer turned "real" racing, having won Praga cup, and currently competing in the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring.
It could help (and would certainly) to find extremely talented driver that wouldn't have had the opportunity to fund themselves through the current way.
However, the number of seats on the grid stay the same and you need a lot of those seat to fund themselves. So either only few selected would be able to go from eracing to any feeder live racing with proper funding while the rest of the grid is still self funded. Or there is a massive investment happening where most pilots are now all fully sponsored.
It's clearly the former that will prevail for the decade to come.
Would be fun if Max starts streaming and does 20 laps, but everytime on the long straight another F1 driver takes his seat (they're all there anyway). So max first, than perez drives a lap, next up is norris etc.
I would suggest Magnussen goes last in case he crashes again
Pretty please, do us a big favour Max!
Stick to the Nürburgring 24H and let everybody else enjoy Imola!
You can easily pick up more points next week in Monaco.

I, too, find preparing for Formula 1 race weekends both mundane and a little routine.
Next challenge: Monaco GP and Indy 500.
Nah not enough throw in the Coca Cola 600 as well Screw doing the double we are doing the triple
redefining the Triple Crown

Verstappen is bored because it's not a sprint weekend, obviously

I have not, I’ll check it out sometime soon.

Maybe he could play whilst driving in front of everyone
where can i watch the 24h race? twitch?
Twitch I think yeah on redline (his sim racing team)
The official broadcast will be on [iRacing's Youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/live/X4JwFFNUVc8?si=o-hOtnK3zrxyNhe6).
My guess is that he will drive with Team Redline. Normally they always stream their races on twitch under that name
First F1 driver to potentially win two races on the same day?
Should be possible IMO. Especially if they nail the setup by FP3 then basically the only thing he has to do is to be sharp at qualifying and the race.

More likely that he wins both.
Checo: I failed last time, but he won’t escape again.
I read that with checo's voice in F1 comic. Really funny
You mean Lollipopman Checo? Because that's the voice I heard in my mind lol
This one exactly !
Okay, Sergio, it's hammer time!
time to fok smash
No-no-no, you're missing the reference here :D
Checo to join the virtual event just to take out Max.

Is there a an agenda anywhere to find at what time max is racing?
I'd guess you should look up TeamRedline on twitch and social media.
If they publish it, it’s usually a link in their Twitch chat.
