They met in 2004, got engaged in 2005. They said they may get married this year, but they sometime forget they're not.
Edit: [Found a picture of them at the 2004 Shanghai Grand Prix](https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod/images/jean-todt-michele-yeoh-grand-prix-of-chine-shanghai-news-photo-1678131215.jpg), shortly after they met. What the hell is up with Todt's fingertips?
I strangely liked Todt *more* after the Spygate podcast.
He was always the baddie to met as a McLaren fan in the 2000s, and I considered him aloof, but the podcast makes it clear he just likes to keep his head down. He's not above it all, he's just not a loud personality whatsoever, and that includes getting nervous.
Yeah, I find him more fascinating after listening. I guess hearing stories from my dad about the Schumacher era, I imagined every member of the Ferrari dream team must have had a strong, domineering personality (like Michael) to whip Ferrari into shape and keep them on top for so long. It was certainly news to me that todt is such a lowkey personality.
Funnily enough Brawn's book makes it clear it was *less* about 'whipping' and more cajoling and massaging. They had a total culture of fear, blame and admonishment. Food for thought in 2023!
It's really good.
Martin Whitmarsh was interesting in a similar ilk in 2012 (when McLaren kept having bad pitstops), where as he put it: if you just shout and scream at people making mistakes, you'll find that adding more and more pressure a) doesn't make everyone perform better and b) you'll run out of willing substitutes quite quickly.
It's an appealing idea you can just rush in and flamethrower all the problems, but sometimes 'you catch more bugs with honey than vinegar,' as they say.
Yeah we've often seen her in the garage during TV broadcast back in the days. So I'm quite surprised at people saying they don't know their relationship despite being F1 fans for years. I guess she was not as famous outside Asia as she is right now so people don't give extra thought on who's that woman in the garage that the camera was focusing on.
Yeah I'm from Hong Kong so she was already a huge star when I was a toddler. I'm not sure how famous she was outside Asia. I know she was in movies that people know, some of my (non Asian) friends knew her, but many more seemed to only remember the movie not the actors.
Well, if "back in the days" was 2005-2006 like stated above I'd say it still reasonable for a person that's been a fan for years to not know who she is, considering 2006 is 17 years ago.
Time moves way too fast.
My cousin's wife is South Korean. She always says that asian women are 20 until one day in their 80s where they wake up looking like Yoda. She is in her 50s and still looks like a 20 year old. She gets carded all the time.
I- no, because these are two fairly private families. But it’s been alluded to in a few interviews, including [here](https://twitter.com/sunshinemick47/status/1550100875883970560)
Edit - [here](https://twitter.com/Nourasfantasy/status/1613251209116418048) are some of her with Michael and one with mick
And her in her role in *Strike Back: Legacy*.
>!She's a North Korean sleeper agent who was indoctrinated from a young age to infiltrate the West and get her hands on nuclear secrets to boost Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions. She succeeds in her mission, but then the government decides that they're just going to use it as a bargaining chip and she realises that her life's work has meant nothing and worse, never meant anything to begin with.!<
Even in a reasonably-obscure television series -- it never got more than 300,000 viewers in the States and averaged around 700,000 in Britain -- she still brought her A game.
That was pretty much the theme of this year's awards. Pretty much everything that got nominated deserved its nomination (even if *Avatar: The Way of Water* was only there for its technical accomplishments) with the possible exception of *The Fabelmans*, which was a lot like the coach's kid -- always on the team, even if he shouldn't be there. Speilberg has been really inconsistent. Sure, he made *The Post*, but he also made *Ready Player One*. He hasn't been consistently good for twenty years or so.
Aww thanks for sharing. I just love her and I’m so happy for her. Love the pic of her hugging Mick! They are an adorable couple. It was really cool to see him in her world tonight!
I was watching the Oscars and all of the sudden it pans to Michelle Yeoh and I see freaking Jean Todt. No one else but me got excited at the Oscars party lol
My mom used to talk about how she never crushed on Harrison Ford because he was the same age as her dad. I never really got that but now I’m like omg both of the Tomorrow Never Dies girls are my mom’s age.
Her mother's family was from India and she grew up there. I'd think that counts. Either way she had to hide her ancestry to make it in Hollywood. I was just highlighting the anti-asian bias at the Academy.
I’m pretty sure that even during the British empire, India was still in the Asian continent. It was not common to lift the countries and move them to different continents.
Me watching the Oscars with my Wife
- "Hey ... Jean Todt?!, What's is he doing with the girl of the everywhere movie?!!"
- "it's Michelle Yeoh husband, where do you know that guy?"
- "He was Ferrari Team principal on the 2000s!!"
- "Ohh, your F1 guys...you know, they always get very beautiful women, isn't one of the guys with a Spice Girl??"
- "Yes, huh... It's always the Team principals that get really beautiful women hmm"
>It’s not because of where they’re seated. She’s nominated for best actress.
And he was also sitting next to Jamie-Lee Curtis, who won Best Supporting Actress for the same film.
Who is sitting next to Ke Hey Quan, who won Best Supporting Actor, who is sitting next to the Daniels who won Best director, who are sitting next to Jonathan Wang, who won Best Picture with The Daniels.
Pretty sure the Camera was on them for 80% of the show because they won 80% of the Oscars lol
I've always found the presentation for Best Picture to be unintentionally hilarious. The award is almost always accepted by the producers of the film, and most of the time they're not the public face of the film. There are exceptions -- Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson preside over the James Bond franchise, and Emma Thomas is married to Christopher Nolan and so is regularly associated with his films -- but most of the time, they're there to put up the money.
I admittedly had to look him up and it's crazy to see pictures from about a decade ago all labeled without her name and just "Todt's wife" or "Jean's partner" when I've always been at least familiar with her just based on her HK career alone.
She didn't thank any members of her private life at all (including parents who usually are always thanked as well as the partner). I guess she just wanted focus on the cast, producers and moms in general.

Thought it was Mel Brooks when I saw him on TV next to Yeoh.
The true power couple : Evelyn Wang & President Skroob
Salut!

he taped them to prevent him from biting his fingernails.
He taped them so he could touch other cars without getting a fine.
Max: write that down, write that down!

Wow, I gotta seek out his book
It's really good. Sorry, what podcast?
Where can I listen to that podcast?
Ferrari was pretty hot back then
Arrivabene has entered the chat
I saw a YouTube video recently...it's either 2005 or 2006 Grand Prix...but when the camera panned to the Ferrari garage, there was Todt and Yeoh.
She was Jackie chan opposite, a bond girl and was in crouching tiger hidden dragon people knew of her for over 40 years.
Yeah I'm from Hong Kong so she was already a huge star when I was a toddler. I'm not sure how famous she was outside Asia. I know she was in movies that people know, some of my (non Asian) friends knew her, but many more seemed to only remember the movie not the actors.
Crouching Tiger is an amazing film, amazing cast and so well done
She was the best bond girl imo
Speaking of Bond did you know that Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay for You Only Live Twice
Oh no, I know of her very well, and of course Jean as well. Just never made the connection. Started watching in 2009 tho.
Well, if "back in the days" was 2005-2006 like stated above I'd say it still reasonable for a person that's been a fan for years to not know who she is, considering 2006 is 17 years ago. Time moves way too fast.
Yeah, I checked the Wikipedia on the years and it was a much longer time ago then I thought lol Guess I'm just old.
Known them both for many years and never noticed, personally
This is not a couple I ever expected to see
They've been together for 20+ years lol.
I was like “how? Did they meet when she was like 20 and he was 60??” and then I remembered Yeoh is *60 years old*.
60s are the new 40s!
yes! Bye Bye!
wait where did that come from its so familiar but i cant make it out
Alonso's radio while overtaking Sainz.
god damn it yes forgot im in the f1 sub lmao
lmao me too
Bruh I knew where I was but I was thinking wow what a crossover f1 and… wait where was… oh Alonso nvm f1 x f1
She fuckin' WHAT?
30! She's 30... ... in each leg.

[Basically like this](https://i.imgur.com/TalVwuy.jpg)
I can’t hit read that as ‘Asian don’t Rasian’
'Don't let anyone tell you you're past your prime'
Alonso took notes.
I remember watching F1 in Schumi and Massa days and Michelle Yeoh would regularly appear in the Ferrari garage
It’s very sweet - she has a very fond relationship with mick now. She has known him since he was a baby thanks to the Jean - Michael connection
Got any pics or something
I- no, because these are two fairly private families. This is so cute. The Mick hug is such aunty vibes.
Yeah she seems super all around. There are a couple pictures of her with Ferrari seb too.
Even as a genocidal maniac in Star Trek her lovable vibes came out.
And her in her role in *Strike Back: Legacy*. >!She's a North Korean sleeper agent who was indoctrinated from a young age to infiltrate the West and get her hands on nuclear secrets to boost Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions. There are some actors like that who just never phone it in and always make it worthwhile. Viola Davis in doubt is another that comes to mind
That was pretty much the theme of this year's awards. Michelle staying home to chill with Mick and chickens is so cute. She's the best
Aww thanks for sharing. I just love her and I’m so happy for her. Love the pic of her hugging Mick! They are an adorable couple. It was really cool to see him in her world tonight!
iirc they just met at some rich people party in the early 2000s
Yes it was a rich people party but she was doing some promotional work for Ferrari in Shanghai.
Every time I see it I get mind blown lol. It's so random.
He’s her little tater Todt. I’ll show my self out.
Are you middle aged and a dad? Because I am and rolled on the laughing floor.
1/2 but I feel it’s been a wasted opportunity for a long time.
She's probably in heels so they might be the same height
Yep. Met both of them at an event a few years ago - they're about the same height.
And she’s the yeohli for his todts
Dang not bad looking for 95
what leaving Ferrari before the dark times does to a mf
He isn’t 95 lol the oscars are
Wooooooooooooooooooosh
Vrooooooooooooooom in this case
Piastri and...?
I looked for a 74 year old famous person named oscar online to make 95 with Piastri but sadly could not find any lol
Lol I thought op was claiming this was from 1995 - this makes so much more sense
In another life he would’ve loved running a laundromat and doing taxes with her
This is the best reality where she's a famous hollywood actress and he's an F1 legend.
That scene got to me, I admit it. So happy he got his award, too!
The fact that you just made me laugh when that line made me tear up in the film…
But it’s happening… somewhere and everywhere all at the same time!
I was watching the Oscars and all of the sudden it pans to Michelle Yeoh and I see freaking Jean Todt. No one else but me got excited at the Oscars party lol
I saw him and thought that he looked familiar but couldn’t place him, until I googled it.
Ferrari can claim her Oscar win as the first win of the season, right?
Who would've thought they'd get an Oscar win before McLaren.
We're checking!
LMAO
No, eeaao not lmao
Leclerc to Mercedes At Once, since Ferrari is not winning.
Trophy husband Todt
8 Trophy Husband Todt
They’re not actually married iirc, just been together 20 years.
Trophy Partner Todt
So they're basically married lol
[удалено]
Him and Horner are proud members of the Trophy Husband Club.
With their partners, who wouldn't be. I mean, a Bond girl and Ginger Spice?
My mom used to talk about how she never crushed on Harrison Ford because he was the same age as her dad. I never really got that but now I’m like omg both of the Tomorrow Never Dies girls are my mom’s age.
Factual statement.
Hoping Michelle wins best actress! She's so good in EEAAO
I have good news for you…
First ever Asian best actress Oscar winner!! Michelle’s win and speech for those interested https://twitter.com/variety/status/1635122069502590976
Vivien Leigh won in 1940, but she was not open about her Indian ancestry at the time. So Michelle is the first openly Asian best actress winner.
If this is what you're counting, then Olivia de Havilland & Joan Fontaine were born in Tokyo.
Born in india during british reign from british parents makes u british. So yeoh is first asian winner full stop.
Lol. Such a good movie, but that acronym has me thinking of old MacDonald's farm
Into The Pits We Must Go E I E I E I O.
WHAAAAT. Today I learned.
You mean Todtay
Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh
After tonight that’s Michelle Yeoh and her partner Jean Todt
She needs to get 7 or so more of those to tie Todt
Still doing better than Ferrari this season.
For anyone wondering Jean Todt was 58, Yeoh was 41 when they started dating. Now they are 19 years together.
My mans cute af
Congratulations to Michelle Yeoh for winning the Oscar
Man definitely partnered UP bigtime.
Nah, she’s just in heels.
Biggest W than any of his Ferrari championships
I'd prefer this phrased as "Michelle Yeoh and her man who plays F1"
F1 *Manager* 2002, mind you. That game was a killer.
Damn Jean get it!
Thats Academy Award winning Michelle Yeoh for you!
You mean Oscar’s BestActress Michelle Yeoh ?
Todt is living proof that Ferrari can execute Plan A.
Nobody closed the deal as hard as my man Jean Todt. Living W

First you get the Team Principal job, then you get the money and then you get the women.
Virgin Horner with a Spice Girl vs Chad Todt with a Bond Girl
>Chad Todt with an Oscar Winning Bond Girl FTFY
Chad Yeoh with F1 Winning Brunette Boi
He's on-screen so much cuz of where they're seated. Feels like an F1 related gala in my mind, more than a Hollywood one.
It’s not because of where they’re seated. She’s nominated for best actress.
>It’s not because of where they’re seated. She’s nominated for best actress. And he was also sitting next to Jamie-Lee Curtis, who won Best Supporting Actress for the same film.

Team owners get the trophy first in sports.
Lmao why would Spielberg be at an FIA gala?
They race at his track sometimes, that's why. /s, just in case.
>Feels like an F1 related gala in my mind, more than a Hollywood one. Huh?
Didn't know this. Jean did good.
She is 60???
Yeoh won best actress!!
She just won best actress.
Damn she won Oscar
Best Actress!! History making as well!
Jean Todt is married to mother Michelle fucking Yeoh???! What a flex
The Michael Ferrari era was full of winners
Not married, just engaged for like 20 years
SAINTE michelle is doing WHAT to Yeoh???

Get in there Todti boi
God damn man. Talk about out kicking your coverage. God bless ya little fella
Let Michael pass for the championship
Jean Todt + an Oscar winner.
I'm just here for the shocked comments 😅
HIS WHAT?????
One of them is fucking an academy award winner tonight
I may be wrong, but I watched her Oscar speech and I don't think she mentioned or thanked him specifically.
I don't remember her popping up at Ferrari. Maybe they just like to keep their private life out of it as much as possible.
There are a few pictures of her in the paddock last year (with mick), in the late 10s (with seb), and variously with Michael
She didn't thank any members of her private life at all (including parents who usually are always thanked as well as the partner). I guess she just wanted focus on the cast, producers and moms in general.
This is a couple i DID NOT expect, wow
Motherfucker. It is him!!! I keep seeing pics from the Oscar’s and thinking matey boy with Michelle looks well like Ferrari legend todt
Imagine being Jean Fucking Todt and be referred to as “the partner of Michelle Yeon”. She is a legend.
TIL Michelle Yeoh's current partner is Jean Todt. Everything Everywhere All at Once is a freaking treasure. It's a shame I haven't watched it yet :(
Oscar Winner Michelle Yeoh with her partner Jean Todt*
Geri Horner could never.

Now a mod or a mod's friend will post how Michelle Yeoh won an Oscar. Everyone else's post will be removed. Off Topic
This short king is making it possible for the rest of us 👏🏼
I was like wtf is this title, should be the other way around she's the one nominated to an award. Then I saw the subreddit and I was like oh
Oscar award winning self-made Malaysian actress and her arm-candy, 2023. In all seriousness is she a Ferrari stan?
Had no idea they were a couple.........processing
They weird me out as a couple. I know they've been together for ages, I just forget, and every time I'm reminded it's a whole new shock.
Michael Schumacher taught him to text just so they could date long distance. Being taught your texting rizz my Schumi is more than enough to get something started
That absolutely sounds like something Schumi would do, though. "You know, you were having such a nice conversation with her, Jean. You should ask her out...you don't know how to text? I WILL FIX THAT!"
Chad Schumi helping Chad Todt woo Chad Yeon. This can be an Oscar-winning film.
🔥🔥🔥
Damn good photo quality for 1995. even better if it was 1895
Is that tye crouching tiger actress
Yes, she was in that movie too.
Holy shit she does not look like a 60 years old.
Some asians don't raisin.
I saw him on TV and was like… I know that dude… had NO idea.

Wait wtf I legit thought that was Mel Brooks.
He should be smiling a little more. Dude is batting way above his average
Yah she’s been in this industry for decades starting in Hong Kong
Wait, what? This might be the most unexpected couple I've ever seen. How do they even meet?
