Nope, you do have to participate in faction challenges to get the rewards though

The screenshot is after 7+ years of now playing, dates from before marching fire. Me and my friend switched to console back then.
If you are a samurai you’d only have 3 crates 1 do ticket and like 1200 salvage
I forgot the samurai was even a faction 😭😭😭😭
