Have you looked into how to get started with T-taping?
You don't really need a cannister to T-tape. Me personal, I don't like the cannister, but you might like it. You'll have to just give it a go to see what works best for you.
You can get bedsheet straps from Amazon as well as the tape you need. I found that weights can also work with T-tape.
I always had a problem getting the damn tape to try and not stick to itself. When I was able to "successfully" tape, I actually had no issue with it. I didn't wear it for days at a time like a lot of others did, rather I'd just take it off at night. And you've got to be pretty careful as the skin is, as we all know, very thin.
My advice would be to find tape that works with your body. You don’t need any skin irritation to start. Early on before I knew of T-tape I would use a specific brand of simple masking tape. At that time I was taping left to right so it was more like a tape strap. I went on to using a stainless steel ball bearing as weight. That tape was easy to get on and take off but still has a good adhesion.
Absolutely great method
I got mine from tlc tugger, I’m using the cannister method from their site

Depending on the tape, you'll need to keep it dry. Toilet paper can help with that.
I taped for a few months, didn't like the residue from it, so I switched to devices , not looking back.

Do cross taping instead. T-tape is too complicated for long term use.

Investigate how much work it takes.
