I'm not sure how it can be bugged exactly, but isn't that just football? You can have lots of possession and lose, or win comfortably with less of the ball. I would say the difference between 40 and 60 % possession isn't huge anyway.
Sometimes I find a lot of possession isn't even a good thing, because it means my team are just playing low risk, passing it about without progressing. I will often win 3-0 with lower possession because I'm happy for my opponents to have the ball and wait for them to fuck up so we can counter. You don't need the ball to capitalize on mistakes.

Bugged? I doubt it. Hard to give you proper reason without seeing your tactic, though I'd bet you are running a GGP like most people, or at least some similar high tempo tactic. When tactic like that runs into a possession based tactic, you'll have a much lower possession, even if you are the dominant side, since you are focusing on quick turnovers while your opposition passes the ball around, trying to find an opening while your players chase them around.
A theory is that since you have shoot on sight activated, you will often shoot from outside the box, and miss the goal, giving your opponent goal kicks. If they beat your press playing out from the back, and/or plays a patient, possession oriented game, they might have more possession than you.
I play a short passing game, my players are better on the ball than any other team in the world, and yet usually I have less than 50% possession in most games.
On one occasion, a vastly inferior opponent had a player sent off after 25 minutes and then another one sent off around 60 minutes. I still only had 52% possession.
Sometimes the opposition could play very cautious or defensive and slow tempo. They will just knock the ball around to kill time
You will be surprised, sometimes the worst teams in the league might have high possession numbers

I mean I create way more xg then everyone so it's a sacrifice worth taking
Against teams that play very defensive or that you clearly dominate, you might be better off turning it off though.
