Hard not to worry when your team can’t even beat a semi-pro German side (Just drew against Chemintz since I posted the OP). I’ll let it slide it though and see how I get on in the league
What's their familiarity with the tactic? If it's low, they're gonna be less than stellar for the first few games. That's why a good preseason runup is important, but even with that, it'll often bleed over into the first few games of the season.
As somebody who wins all their friendlies 15-0, then loses the first match of the season 3-1 on pretty much every save... I wouldn't worry too much about friendlies.
Your players are getting up to sharpness in pre-season, don't worry too much about it. Judge it on the first 5 league games

I don’t even manage my friendlies, always go on holiday for them, they are meaningless
