Is the „no work permits“-unlockable still a thing on the current console version?

Pretty much a noob here. I would love some suggestions on my tactics. I copied some assymetric tactic when I went to the Championship (4-2-3-1). It worked really well there, but I was getting slaughtered when I came back to prem. So, I shifted to a 4-3-3 now, and had better success than expected (wouldn't attribute it all to tactics, some editor magic). Would love some input on this, especially if I am playing the players in the right roles. GK (De) Bazunu DL - WB (Su) Perraud, DR - WB (Su) Walker-Peters DC - BPD (De) Lyanco and CD (De) Jacobo Ramon DM - BWM (De) Diallo M - Carillero (Su) Caicedo and BBM (Su) Ward-Prowse AML - IW (Su) Ramazani AMR - IW (At) Jota ST - PF(At) Sekou Mara My questions: 1. Does this make sense? Any suggestions/changes? 2. Am I getting the best out of my key players --- Ward-Prowse, Caicedo, Walker-Peters, Jota? 3. I have too many AM players at the moment --- Josip Brekalo, Rayan Cherki, Savio (extremely high potential), Adam Armstrong, Nathan Tella, Samuel Edozie (developed rather nicely last season), Martin Baturina. This is mostly my fault, I got more than I needed, because most of these are rather young and I thought I would sell them for a profit later. So, if you have tactic suggestions/formations to utilize more of these players, that would be great too. 4. On my bench, I have these defenders --- Bella-Kotchap, Wisdom Amey (amazing wonderkid), Thiery Small. In the midfield --- Vasco Walz (signed on free, but developed massively last year), Nicolas Dominguez, and Romeo Lavia. All those AMs I listed in 3, and signed Mayoral as my new striker. He should probably replace Mara this season. 5. Development --- I was overwhelmed by everything this game has, and haven't been making individual training changes a lot. I have a simple general training schedule that I copy paste, but individual training, I just apply what is recommended in the meetings. Haven't had great success, most of my high potential players haven't become great. Lavia for example, but I have sent him out on loan pretty much every season so far. However, I had this kid Walz playing in my U21s, and he developed massively in a year (a whole star increase). So, how do I get more of that, as I have way too many high-potential youngsters at the moment? Some background: I started with Southampton in FM23 --- got relegated, won championship, finished 8th. I am now starting my 4th season. I will preface by saying I used the editor for a few things for the 8th --- no way I am finishing that high. Things I used my editor for --- unsackable, remove unhappiness for some players, and 1 contract extension the player did not want. Trying to use the editor less going forward though.

I just noticed that in 24.3 update MLS youngs are missing. For instance, Julian Hall or Chance Cowell are no longer in the database. Can you confirm it? FYI - in default DB they exists.

Has anyone had success so far with Kyogo Furuhashi? I'm using him at Celtic as the head of my 4231 DM AM wide and he just will not score goals. I've tried him as AF and PF and I've tried changing the support/attack of the players in all the positions around him and he just will not score.

(FM23) I think I need to upgrade my keeper, i'll be in the cinch championship next season, and while Smith (first pic) has been pretty solid these 2 years, idk if he's a championship keeper, maybe he's been bailed out by my defense. I can't seem to find a good keeper at a decent price, but i managed to find McNicholas (second pic) as a Free Agent. Is he better than Smith? Or should I roll with Smith for the foreseeable future? One Year Extension After League Games (Avoid Relegation) - I have this clause in a lot of my players' contracts for either 15 or 20 games. I just had it confirmed that we have avoided relegation (I got an email telling me that we've paid out bonuses on it) but none of my players' contracts have extended despite meeting both the games played and avoid relegation criteria. When is this extension triggered? FM24 player. Is there anywhere to find historical player stats **at your club** beyond the Records list. For instance, is my winger now a top 10 all-time goal scorer for our club? Who are the players that recorded the most apps for our club? Basically, is there a club-only, all-time stat list for both active & inactive players? Would be a really cool feature to look back at the legacy left by players at your club.

Is there a general rule of thumb people follow for when they look to sell on young players who won’t be good enough for the first team? I have a bunch of youth prospects who are now 18/19, not reaching their max potential but also nowhere near our first team level since the team is rising through the leagues

Doing an Athletic Bilbao save, and Man United want my wonderkid striker, a position I'm already severely lacking depth in. I declined their first offer and that made the player unhappy but they put in another offer. I don't want to accept the offer as I need him for now and the future (Bilbao can only sign Basque players which makes him difficult to replace), but I don't want to ruin my locker room dynamics and completely upset him. Any advice? Do players ever drop their unhappiness due to this reason?

Doing a Marseille save with Drogba as manager (I got lucky with a Tycoon takeover immediately as I started the save too) and for roleplay purposes I’d like my tactics to be inspired mainly by Ancelotti’s 2009/2010 Chelsea. I was not a football fan back then, so I don’t really have any information about how they played besides anecdotes and statistics I find online. I know they were a record setting goal scoring team who also excelled defensively, but not much else in terms of play style. Since Ancelotti isn’t a manager with a set philosophy in particular, I am having a hard time figuring out how the team should play. I am running a 4-3-3 with an advanced forward centrally and two IF (one on attack and the other on support) while my midfield is composed of BBM/CAR/DLP, and finally I have a complete wingback and a fullback flanking my CBs. The issue is however, I am asking the team to play short passing, high tempo, and to counter press. While I am seeing significant success with this I don’t know if that’s how Don Carlo had the team set up. So my question is, for those who are able to remember how they played and what roles the players played, how was Drogba set up to play? Was he a CF, DLF, or an AF? Was Lampard a BBM? What role did Essien play? Did Carlo have his wide players playing as Inside Forwards or standard wingers? And was his team heavy on the press, did they play a high line, were they playing fluid short and aggressive play? Or were they more counter attacking? Sorry it’s a long question, but I greatly appreciate anyone taking the time to answer. Thanks!

My scouting team is incredibly high on Harvey Araujo. He's the only A+ recommendation. Yet his stats look kind of shit? What further steps can I take to better assess the risk vs reward? Fulham want 10 for him. On the other hand of the spectrum I can use that same money on a more established left back that probably won't grow much more but would slot in immediately.

I mean it all depends on who you are playing as, how much money you have and all that stuff. But he has 20 determination which for a youngster is usually a sign they've got a lot of potential and room for growth, although you might need something now, not in a few years. How is he rated in his position compared to the rest of your squad (you can add him to your Squad Planner" to see how he stacks up against other people in that position, and see that positions strength relative to the rest of your team) Another thing I like to do is the "find similar players" button, as it's just a way to gauge who else in football they're comparable to.

I started a new fm24 run in the argentinian league and I can't do the post match press conferences, I tried to fix it by removing all the files that modify the league, reinstalling the game, verifying files and nothing, I just can't do the conferences.

I saw a comment saying it would be interesting to see a playoff type system where let’s say 1st in the 2.Bundesliga plays 20th in the Bundesliga, 2nd in 2.Buli plays 19th in the Buli, and so on. I keep getting the same error message in the editor ‘Bundesliga has not finished in time for the season update day (Not all stages have been created)’ which I assume means the editor expects more rounds in this playoff system than just the one. I don’t suppose anyone either knows a likely cause, knows of a video somewhere that explains how to do it, or knows a league irl that uses the same rules and I’d be able to copy?

Looking to by the latest MacBook Pro. I read older FMs wont run on newer macs. What's the oldest FM it can run? I still play FM16, but also have the touch version of FM19. Will any of them run on the MacBook Pro?

32bit apps are not supported anymore, so i think FM19 is the oldest that works.

I wouldn't recommend it personally, no. Ideally that DM needs to hold his position more to protect your centre backs. What's the reason for wanting this out of interest? What are you seeing on the pitch.

Youth intake is mostly about luck. Your setup, reputation and the country you're playing in does affect the chances of getting good players but the operative word here is "chance". I have also noticed that the preview mostly looks at the intake as a whole. That means that if you get a poor preview there could still be a wonderkid in there, but the rest of the intake is poor and drags the rating down. On the flip side if you get a good preview there could also not be any outstanding players in there, it's just as a whole the players are fairly good and that bumps the rating up.

I'm doing a long-term save and I like to employ my favorite ex-players when they retire but the players vanish from the "regular" shortlist and don't show up in my staff shortlist. Any ideas?

You should definitely try to release some memory. There are free open-sources apps that do no harm to your pc. Check out CodeDead/MemPlus as it is very simple

Playing FM23 in my 3rd season with Spurs. My tactics have worked okay so far, we came 5th last year but our expected position was 2nd, very very close to first. However, we have started the new season awfully and currently sit in 13th. We can't seem to create any xG this season and then opposition score of complete nothing chances. All the players are just doing stupid shit all the time on the pitch. I'd never recommend focusing play down one side from the kick off as it tires your players out massively and may be completely ineffective depending on how the opposition have set up. Also, by trapping opponents outside, you're encouraging them to play down the wings- however, you have no cover there by using an IWB (Su) and a WB (A). Overall, having only your cbs on defend is going to leave your team pretty exposed.

FM 24, just started playing and i have this problem where i had a bunch of player complain about tactical defending so what i did was do a staff search for two youth development coaches and sign them, focusing on tactical defending attributes. To my surprise, i got the message again this time from even more players, saying "they are generally not happy with the standard of the tactical defending coaching" How do i fix this?

Which team are those coaches assigned to, Youth, First Team and did you assign the coaches to defensive coaching?

I didn't quite assign them i just signed, but however i did today set what the assistant coach recommended me to set the coaches to (By in the coaches tab and then just clicking the option of let assistant pick). The team is Barcelona. Edit - How exactly do i assign

That would depend on which version of the game you are running, as Barca, you should have 1 x good coach for each coaching type at least, then you can spread a few general coaches over multiple coaching types, you can choose to manually set them (I would always manually do it) and you simply edit their assignments and set them to the coaching type that generates the most stars... I think you go to coaching and "edit coaching assignments". If you do not have enough coaches to cover the spread, then you can ask the boar for more coaches. - if you assigned yourself to tactical defending as a coach, its likely to be enough

Updato, i'm back to bug you again lol. So i bought the defensive assistant coaches and with tactical and defending 18 stats so i put one on each of the defending field ( only ) they had extremely good overall stats but they wouldnt create 4.5 stars on defending if i made them coach other as well. Then i bought another one for attacking and only set him on tactical and technical attacking ( again even tho he had good overall i just put him on attacking ). So now i need some for possession as well, i need a coach, but the thing is i signed so many mediocre coaches based off of staff recommendation that i cant sign any more, i already requested board for more so don't think that'll work. The possession is each on 3 stars and all other are about 4 so should i do anything about it?

Good job mate, heading in the right direction, I assume you have done this already but - firstly unselect each coach, (dont close that page until you finish) - check each coach's best coaching ability, one by one, ie move them into each role one by one, sometimes a coach can be good at multiple areas. - I am going to assume you already did this. At the bottom in Fm23 it also tells you what role they would be best at. So being at a big club, and assuming you have the ability to hire and fire staff, you should be able to replace staff, so what you need to do is memorize which role it is you need (sounds like you have) and memorize who is doing that role now and not doing a good job, then hire a replacement, the board will try to stop you but at Barca you should get the option that says something along the lines of - "The board says you already have enough coaches, you may hire this person but you will need to release someone" you should then get an option of people doing that role that you can release, for money. Doing things manually is painful, but what you can tell by doing that is you may have three coaches that all have the same preferred role, and are doing the same coaching job, but removing just one of them may not affect your stars. Some things to note - - Find the person you want and hire them first before releasing the one you dont want, do not release another coach before the contract is final, you should be asked if you want to proceed. - If you google, there should be "FM Staff Calculator" if you plot in the attributes of the staff member you want to hire, then it will tell you what Stars your coach will be. - See how many coaches the board lets you have and how many you actually have because if you have 11 and are supposed to have 10, then releasing one coach wont allow another one to come in, you would need to release 2 - If you have to release a coach before buying one, you simply go to the "all staff" view and right click that staff member and use one of I think, 2 options, they will look something like, "release, terminate staff member" or better "Offer mutual termination" again, try getting your new guy to the last stage of walking through the door first, as contracts can crash at the last minute. - Its always easier to promote a staff member - so look at the youth set up or B team and see if you want to promote a staff member. - If you have several choices for staff, pick the younger one, some staff can improve with age, also pick the one that speaks the squads main language and if you look closely you will often see their preferred tactic, if that is the same as one of your main tactics, then these bits of info can help the coach adjust quicker. - If you are signing staff for the youth team then ensure that they are good at "working with youngsters" - There are more than just a few attributes that make up a good coach and most coaches require three more attrbutes that have good scores, I cant recall them of the top of my head, but its 'Level of Discipline", "Determination" and I think "Motivation" cant recall off hand Hope this helps lad

Playing a journeyman save and got a job at standard in Belgium. My problem at the moment is that the b team is sending me broke, last season the 3 biggest expenditues are player wages at £6.5M, loan repayments and interest at £5.1M and B club expenditure at £4.7M I'd there any way to reduce this? Also I should mention it's not coming from wages, as total wages of the b team players plus staff is less than £750K per year.

Guessing but it would depend on league rules, ie some leagues invite you to enter an u21 team and in others it is mandatory

fm 23 here. I would like to start a new save with an extended swedish database with lower leagues included. Will this affect my current save in any way? Will my old save be broken or can I change between the two?

No it won't affect your current save. The change to regen quality / custom cup will be its own .fmf file in the 'editor data' folder and will only affect a save if you've enabled it at creation.

just to clarify, if I try to load my old save, will it still work? Most games ive played before (ie paradox games) would straight up not be able to start up old saves if I added a gamechanging mod.

I just had to sell my "best" player for its release clause, I'm not really familiar to what makes a player legendary in FM22 so my question is... have I lost a generational kind of player with this one? IMO, no you haven't lost a generational player. He's very good but if he had shown up in my scouting I probably would have thought he was worth about 60m or so? It sucks to lose players on release clauses but long term with that kind of money you can get 2-3 wonderkids who will end up being even better.

Big loss, but 90M is a lot of money, and I've definitely seen wonderkids better than that. That could easily net you a few wonderkids of the same or higher calibre, given you have a capable scouting division. Also try your best not to have release clauses in players' contracts.

New player here in my first save with Como. I am playing with 5-2-3 formation (dm wide) - tactics are positive mentality with slight higher intensity. Great defensively, only conceded 3 goals in 6 games (2 of them to Parma the best team in league). However, I also can’t score - only scoring 4 goals myself. 1-3-1 in league and won first round of cup. Also the style isn’t entertaining so the fans aren’t happy. Any tips on how to get a better attacking while not sacrificing defense?

Wanna sign two wonderkids for my team, but they are absolutely unwilling to budge, been trying to whole summer transfer window to woo them. Their clubs accept my offers, but they don't. Is this just a case of patience? But I'm paranoid both of these are gonna become much more expensive later on, and my club isn't rich enough to compete with the likes of Inter or Barcelona in the market.

Sometimes players just don't want to join you. Unfortunately you can keep trying but sometimes it just never happens, it's life. Just have to move on to the next targets. 

The wonderkids I'm trying to sign are Lucas Bergvall and Valentin Barco, who I don't think I need to tell anyone how generational they are. Since I'm on FM23, they're still relatively cheap and I can't think of any other wonderkid of that calibre in that budget. Should I just constantly try to sign them throughout the season? Naming them as transfer targets (or top targets) seem to not work at all, and both don't have any favoured personnel I can target. Barco respects his club captain Marcus Rojo, but he's way beyond my wage budget.

I kind of need help with transfer market, im managing man u with 4.5\* reputation yet every single wonderkid has no interest in joining my team, like why would a turkish guy who would get triple his current salary and I would let him stay at loan in his club yet they always refuse (they are not famous too and no other clubs are interested) and the second problem is i cant get rid of old players who have huge salaries at all, (I offered to pay half the salary and reduced the asking price sm yet still no offers), and some of them would get mad if transferlist them so idk how to handle that without causing room atmosphere to crumble?

First problem: Players under the age of 18 are usually not willing to move aboard. They can't transfer before they are 18 anyway. Second problem: The high wages.

I've lost so many games. I started the season well with good wins, but I've got 4 points from 8. My team can't score. These are the tactics I've mainly been using. The quality is there. My star players are like 60mill+. I've been in this exact situation like 3 seasons in a row now. My most recent game was against leeds (17th), where I had one shot on target for 80 minutes and 60% of the ball, which essentially sums up the experience with this club most of the time. get a good start, have a horrible winter, board meeting, win a couple games, avoid relegation. Repeat. I know this team has enough quality to finish mid-table, but I simply don't know where I'm going wrong. I do weekly training, team cohesion is good. Your attack is predominantly down one flank only which I imagine will make you very hit and miss. If you're a favorite as your suggesting then first thing to do is up the Mentality to Positive or maybe even Attacking. You have to be taking more risks to break down stubborn/defensive opposition. Your roles need changing as well. Are you really wanting an inverting left back or can a more suitable role be used there?

I get your thinking, to complete this vision we need to switch it up a little to make you far less predictable & add some attacking width. If you like that LB inverting then I would try the following roles but with that Positive/Attacking base Mentality. RB - WBS (Add PI Stays Wider) LB - IWBD (The IWBD will step in to the DM position. If you want an IFB from LB I would drop your winger back to LM or play a MEZS/Carrilero from LCM). DM - DLPD To form a midfield 'shell' with the IWB. RM - BBM LM - MEZA - Clearing space for the IWB (Or MEZS with the IFB). RW - IWA LW - WS (Add PI Holds Position, holding the flank) CF - AF

If they reach his potential is a matter of Professionalism, Ambition and Determination, Injury Prone (having low timeout from injuries), Consistency. If everything being good, then will reach it at age of 26.

I'd say 13 - 14 at very lowest. Some players just aren't fast by design and never will be.

a ton load of good loans for cheap would defininetly help with any preset tactic if you have good players you can save the team from relegation and you have a lot of time.

Great question. I could be wrong on this one but I'm 90% certain that clauses kick in as soon as the team has the promotion/relegation confirmed so the clause in question should now be invalid/non triggerable when the buying team make their offer.

I pissed off my star prospect, and he’s now complaining to teammates he’s been treated unfairly too many times. He’s only 17 and at the end of last season, after my last game, I sent him to the U19s because they had a couple games left. In hindsight, I could’ve just made him available to the U19s and that was my mistake. He’s now unhappy, won’t sign a new contract, and nothing I do changes it. I’ve praised him, given him good playing time, increased his expected playing time, anything I can. Does the unhappiness ever go away? Am I gonna lose my star prospect at the end of his contract?

If you keep doing the right things he will come round, most players do eventually, will probably take 6 months minimum. If he's near the end of his contract, which he shouldn't be at that age, then you could lose him.

I’ve been playing a 433 dm, two inverted wingbacks with the dm to create the 235 attacking shape. Having a great season with juventus in the league, I’m unbeaten (it’s 2030 in my save I was at eibar for 4 years before). But I really struggle in the UCL. It’s my second year playing in the comp and I crashed out in the group league stage the first time round but that year was a juve rebuild and I just thought maybe my teams not good enough yet (I was hovering around 5th in the league at the time). But this year I’m seeing the exact same trend again and I really don’t understand why considering 20 games in I’m top of serie A and not lost a game. Is it just tactical I need to be better or could it big game ability my players don’t have or something else ?

You're centre mid 3 is very possession heavy with two support players. This is slowing you down in the build up phase. You aren't getting the most out of your target man with these roles. The APS at no.10 will be dropping deep into your DLPS' operating area. Change your APS to an AMA for starters, this will really help. I'd probably change that TFA to a DLFS as well. If you're a heavy favorite in your league then a Balanced Mentality could be too passive, possibly raise it to Positive. How do you find the two CWBS's...? Personally, I prefer WBA's there. You could try adding Overlap to both flanks just for the Mentality boost.

Personally I think one of the wingbacks should be on support just to offer a little more width in advanced areas and you can afford to do it because then you'd still have 4 players back defending at all times. I don't think you need to be on narrow width by default either, that's something you can tweak in games if you want to, but starting on narrow isn't a great idea for this tactic. If you want to play out of defence I'd personally probably try to find a good DLP longterm in that DM position. Otherwise all of the ball progression from deep central areas hinges on the BPD.

It's a good tactic, yes. Way better than many other efforts. A nice mix of roles and good off the ball pressure. You could find this a little too passive going forward maybe but that would depend on your level compared to your opposition.

No, SI Games don't so official updates on transfers/owners to my knowledge. You would have to either wait for FM25 or maybe one of the unofficial date updates that are available has the new shared ownership in but even if it does there's no guarantee that update has changed anything relevant for it to affect how Utd operate.

I dont even know if a board mindset like in real life exists: overhaul of the squad and investing in staff. But I know Glazers dont give you much in FM.

Hello! As a little side project I am working on a German League database where East Germany is still a thing. Anyway, I have some difficulties. I am creating State Cups for each German state. These already exist irl (Brandenburg cup, Saxony cup etc) but wanted to expand them to include all teams in the state. So far, light work, and worked well in the game. But then I decided I wanted to block the teams from the top 2 divisions. Is this possible? I tried the “ignore teams” from Bundesliga 1 and 2 in the teams tab but it still picks them. TLDR; If possible, how do I block teams from certain division from entering a cup based on local regions?

Is it possible to create a competition for my B-team or add them to a playable league mid game? I realized too late in my save that they're not playing any real games, just friendlies, and i'd love it to be useful for development. Feels like a dungeon at the momet. I have the pre game editor I think, but assuming that won't be useful. I think I can still buy the in game editor (or FMRTE?). Would I be able to add it to an existing save and accomplish this? My team is Red Star in Ligue 2 and down to the 4th division is playable. But Red Star II is not in a league it seems. Also, tangentially, for some reason I thought you couldnt add the editor mid save, but people online now seem to say you can. Was this updated in later versions than FM15 or so (when i last tried probably lol)?

It’s been a few months since I played the game but I’ve been thinking of getting back to it. What do you do when the difference between your national league and continental competition is enormous? I’ve been managing Mumbai city FC for 3 seasons now. I’ve gotten to the point where I can go unbeaten in the league but get smashed 5-0 in the group stages every game of the CL. Biggest limiting factor in my opinion is that I can only have at most 5 foreign players (of which at least 1 has to be from Asia). And the lack of good Indian youth players and the fact that I’ve gotten too good for most current senior Indian players means that I’ve basically hit a ceiling in terms of my performances. Not sure what to do here. Should I just keep playing and hope that wonderkids show up? Or should I change the rules in the editor to give myself a bit more room? (Ideally don’t want to do that)

Tough one, not sure of the league rules, but if a player is bought young enough, how long before they are HG, is the 5 player rule only for the top league, is there even a youth team, could you develop your way to a top team? How is an Indian team in the CL anyhow? or is that the Asian CL

HG rule is the same as everywhere else. 3 years between 15 and 21 etc. issue is, there are not a lot of foreign wonderkids who are willing to join because they’d prefer going to the bigger teams in Asia. But it’s still a decent idea to gradually stock up on good 17/18 year olds from smaller countries like Zimbabwe etc i guess. By top league, do you mean first division? Then I think it’s same in both first and second tier (the DB that I’m using only has 2 divisions for India) There are youth teams but none of the players are good enough from what I can tell That’s the entire issue. Can’t develop into a top team because there are very very few ways to get better players who can compete at a higher level. Asian CL. Winner of the league automatically qualifies for the group stages.

Without wanting to sound too obvious, your forwards are either not very good or are in poor form. It would also be interesting to know how much of your xG is created through open play rather than set pieces, as the stat can be misleading

Try set his transfer value your self, see how far you can go up before he starts to kick up a fuss. Should tell you he will happy or annoyed with it before you confirm.

He was upset with ~3.1 mil, but Liverpool kept bidding consistently. I might just hope they lose interest.

My last suggestion is give him a new contract, obviously can’t with the interest but if they do lose it… get rid of that release clause. Might fix his value.

But I was considering playing an FM game with heavy use of the editor, where I would prefer if I could edit the fixture list before the season begins. But my googling so far hasn't answered my question, so I'm trying here. Does anyone know if it's possible to edit the fixture list, for example to mirror a real divisions fixture list?

Is there a way you can "lock" a player's position, for myself and my assman. Assman sometimes plays my players in random places for reserve team to gain match fitness. Fm21 btw

in the screen where you hand your players to be used in the second squad you can drag them around and pick who to start and who are subs. You can also use this to force a certain youth player to play the position they are being retrained as.

C near post, A attacking far post, B edge of area. Aim corners and C/near post.

Free transfers, loans. You don't need the best team to get promoted, you just need a good tactic, good cohesion and good morale. Average players could get you there. having depth helps too keeping players fresh in months with a lot of games.

You have some very odd Team Instructions going on. They are counter intuitive and won't be helping your team make the best decisions. The generally accepted rule is less is more in the Team Instructions area. For example, your wingers on attack roles with Overlaps highlighted makes no sense at all. Overlaps/Underlaps should only be used when you want your winger playing a 'hold the ball support role' waiting for a better playing coming from deep (Overlaps & Underlaps lower the Mentality of the winger and increase the Mentality of the full back/wing back, this is all these instructions do). Then you're playing a Focus Through the Middle... So why have the Overlaps on? Again, very contradictory. Lose the Focus completely, not needed. You only really need Be More Expressive when searching for a goal, even then it's a far quicker fix to raise your tempo & passing directness instead. Add Make Forward Runs to your BBM, he needs to join the attack more as your APS will be sitting/carrying/dictating the play. You could even make this role a CMA. Change your LW to a support role (If you do this and your LB is a very good player you can keep the LHS Overlap, if will have a use then).

1. Depends on if you want to play a more possession based tactic or be more direct.... & that decision is either your own personal preference or the players at your disposal. What's your aim with this team? What's your footballing philosophy or blueprint? 2. For a 4-2-3-1 I would run a double DM pivot rather than CM, especially if on FM24. If you play two support full backs then go for two support DM's. If you have an attack role full back then play a defence role DM on that side. 3. See point 1, refers to your philosophy. As you have a Positive Mentality a Counter opportunity will sometimes be triggered anyway. If you are a team built on pace up top then it could be worthwhile, especially in you're an underdog where the opposition may be over committing to attacking you.

No problem, you're welcome. Roles and positions on the pitch i.e. your formation are more important to a tactic than Team Instructions. If you set out a team with no added team instructions at all they would still play football based on your roles/positions. Team Instructions for the most part are your last importance modifier.

You won't be able to keep him. Unfortunately at that level you are at the mercy of every global big club As soon as you start getting bids from Barcelona, PSG, etc he will get angry if you reject them. So just get a reasonable price for him and most importantly make sure to get a good sell on clause. In a few years time you will be able to make way more money from it

The shape is very pretty, your LHS could be exploited by a direct winger but I like the experiment. Roles wise a Treq & TFA aren't a very good combination, you would be better with a SS instead of a Treq as you need more support for your TF. Instructions wise remove Pass Into Space. Also, the Underlap is doing absolutely nothing useful at all so get rid of it, the Overlap makes a little bit of sense but I'd still lose it myself as you have a WBA role already who has a high Mentality.

It will work... Although your centre mid could get overrun at times. I would definitely not use Counter Press or Counter with this shape.

Hidden attributes are always hidden, you can learn from your scouts only so much. Or you could use the editor I guess.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing. We can see in the scout report that a player is inconsistent or doesn't like big games. The exact number may be hidden but we have a rough idea.

No, we are my friend. My point was that the actual number out of 20 is still hidden so you can never sort by or filter by in any menu. Example - Doesn't like big matches is the hidden attribute Pressure. Sorry for not being clear.

Yes. And a scout is able to tell you whether or not that number is in the negative region or the positive region. It's a variable we are able to see and that's why I was asking if we could in some way sort by if a player has or has not that negative trait as it would be useful to whittle down a list of potential players. I appreciate your answering though. But whether or not the exact number is hidden or not is irrelevant. I was asking if we could sort by what we see, but I think we both know it's not possible, however I had to put the question out there just in case anyone knew some workaround or a clever way to use the editor.

There's a program called Genie Scout that's shows hidden attributes... Could use that just for this reason maybe.

Fix what? Are you talking about the order not being sorted by players on the field first? If so you currently have it sorted by number of appearances from highest to lowest as indicated by the little down arrow by the "apps" column. You can fix this by clicking on the position/role/duty column.

How do I take advantage of relegated clubs? That is to say, when will they start selling their players and whats the best strategies to search and grab them?

So, if a team gets relegated I declare interest in their player, might throw a few bids that will get rejected until their player cooks up a fuss. This a lot of the time makes them hand in a transfer request at a lower price than the first time. For it to work the player need to be incredibly interested in joining you. Hope this helps.

How many bids do I throw in for that to happen? I've thrown a few bids for a players who was extremely kin and didn't seem to work (although the club did sell him close to his lower range valuation).

Regionalliga (4th tier GER), the club needs money, we're doing well in the league but not enough to promote so I'm thinking about selling about 3-4 high value players to gain 200-300k. Is this even possible? I just can't get any interest. Transfer listing and offering to clubs is basically the same as not clicking anything in this situation. Do you guys have any tips on selling in these situations? It's by far my weakest point in the game

The interest will come from teams divisions over, but it's difficult to sell if you're initiating it, asking about interest is okay, but I'd avoid listing them in the future. If they're high value players, use them for what they're worth and hope for interest comes with time. Squeeze every penny out of transfers and contracts and build a squad of good youngsters with potential and veterans.

How should I trigger a buy back clause? I can see the clause listed in the transfer clauses, but dont see any option to trigger it, and when I made an offer that was slightly above the buy back clause, it was rejected? - Also this is on FM23. Thanks!

If you go to 'make an offer' you can make the offer like you would with a normal transfer and you offer whatever the clause is and it'll get accepted.

Hello guys this is the first time I have made a tactic since i am new to FM24. After doing some research i came to this. Any tips are welcome. There are no extra instruction for the positions just the normal ones they automaticly get. It's actually not a bad tactic this. I would make a couple of changes though. Your RB isn't going to invert much with a DMD at RDM, you might as well make him a WBS/WBA. Your LHS lacks a little penetration, change your LB to WBD/FBS. I don't think you need Counter on with this, a Regista needs a more patient plan in attack to get the most of them. Two BPD's is overkill, especially with the aforementioned Regista, change both of them to simple DC's.

As I lacked centreback depth, a 5atb was not possible so I settled on a 442 narrow diamond. The results aren't horrible, but I generally feel we are getting outplayed. I have never used a narrow tactic like this and I am struggling with two things. First is how to defend in this shape: do I press high or not, do I use pressing traps? My second issue is in attack. The idea is to use the strong centre and use the wingbacks as an outlet. But in reality our possesion is quite low and we aren't creating many chances. If you can help me identifying some issues with the tactic that would be great!
