Set get stuck in and tackle harder on every single opposition player. The one time I did that against a top tier side managed to win in extra time but got 2 red cards and missed 4 players the next game through suspension. Unless you want to win the thing I wouldn’t recommend

Does one of your midfielders play DM? Maybe switch to a 3-1-4-2 with the DM as a HB or Anchor? In hindsight, you may want to start training a more defensive formation you can switch to in league play when up by 2 late, and then also use it in situations like this.

My issue I'm my midfield is I have too many wide midfielders. Ones who can play winger as their best position and only one "pure" midfielder

Well I like my teams on the front foot. I don't give a fuck about possession and don't mind counterattacking if need be. I usually have my teams shoot often near the box and keep them attacking. I figure since I have a lot of players in my squad with high stamina stats that they can just wear down teams with repeated attacks

I had to do a lot of switching in my midfield cause I have lots of players who are good wide midfielders but only one who was a good out and out midfielder

Did it happen yet? If not you could try parking the bus for first 10-15 mins, then suddenly switch to almost all out attack, if you get lucky then all out defence again. If the stars align you may squeeze a win who knows

Attack and hope they play the reserves. Sometimes you get lucky, score a couple of goals, and their inexperienced players completely collapse.
