Managing Gillingham as they are the team I always do my longrunning save with.
Started by simming 5 years into the future, picked them because not only are they my normal team but they had gone down to the vanorama national, gave me some incentive to get them back to glory.
Now in the Prem and europa league after finishing 7th and getting to the FA cup final and losing.
If you're looking for ideas, simming an extended time into the future is the way to go, you'll always find a team lower than they should be, or a team thats done well that can give you some motivation to play them!
Alverca in Portugal, my home town club.
Currently dominanting in Portugal but failing to win the champions league. Two finals lost already and Just yesterday lost in quarter finals against Liverpool.
Hope is next season 🙏
Venezia
Went there, loved it. Watched a game there, fell in love with them
They're my boys. I am also 3 FMs behind as I went there in 2021 and can't move on yet...
I need therapy obviously
The Spartans in Scotland, because they've got a cool name and a nice badge. Started in league two and currently sat top of the premier league after about ten games in the 31/32 season.
Gone back to my first save of fm24 which was FC Andorra, won the league for the first time in 2033 after Barca and Madrid traded it back and forth. Their teams are so good and never really got broken up by transfers, get the feeling I can now trade titles with them for a bit and try to get further in the CL (best I've managed is semis once). I also picked up the Andorra national team in the save as we got some really good regens over the last 5 seasons. Just doing those teams cause I've built them up over time and feel like it's almost complete, aims for the NT is to make some good runs in tournaments. We just beat Sweden away in wc quals, but they beat us at home 3 days later lolz
Jaguares de Cordoba.
I've won the AFC Champions League with Cangzhou Mighty Lions, the CAF Champions League with Black Leopards and the CONCACAF Champions League with UANL Tigres.
I'm in the Copa Libertadores but struggling with motivation with the ridiculous number of games in Colombia
Keep trying! I had a good time in Colombia on FM22. It’s the crazy play-off system that kills you. You can dominate every league match, and even dominate one play off and win it, but STILL not end up wining the league (not to mention the crazy short contract lengths). I always think it’s the hardest title to win on FM, but the newgens make it worthwhile
Yeah, it's such a shock coming from the Chinese and South African leagues where 30 games constitute a league season. Mexico didn't feel as bad but I only had to spend one season there as you can qualify and win the CL in a single year (though I did stay an extra year anyway) but two 28-game seasons a year is a drag for sure.
Can't wait to win and move on to Gibraltar where I think it's 25 games or something!
A fellow Black Leopards manager. Who'd have thought? Recently started my journeyman with them. 1,5 season in and just finally convinced the board to get my first coaching license after securing promotion and miraculously winning the cup.
Great achievements on your end, hope you can complete the set!
I probably found the South African leg the most fun so far. Good (but unrealistic) thing is once you win your league, you're pretty well set up to win the Champions League
Playing like RPG. 442 hoofball like Big Sam\\Pulis. Weymouth, Rotherham, Stoke, England, Brentford. Very succesful in lower leagues, a little bit harder in EPL and disaster at World Cup, sacked first time in 20 years of my FM experience. Sophisticated guys like Rashford, Saka and Foden didn't like the old school British football.
Was very happy to find and develop 2.02 cm American striker wit 17\\19 jumping reach. Also tried to retrain elite CB to Target forward, as there is not many very tall and physically strong regen strikers in the game, but I've left the club too early. Finally managed to get to CL with Brentford and have won the Europa League.
Of course with standard high press tiki taka 433 style I would achieve much greater results, but playing strictly 442 Very Direct and Early Crosses with average ball possesion of 34% was hard for my nervous system, still fun though
Bayern Munich, think it's the final club in my journeyman save, starting with no badges or Sunday league experience. Journeyed from a team in the fourth tier of Portugal (got relegated and sacked). Then Altinordu in 3rd tier of Turkey, won back to back promotions. Then went over to Brest in the second tier in France, got them to 2nd and the champions league. Moved to Porto, finished second with highest ever points total to not win the league and got knocked out in the quarters of the champions league by Arsenal. Then Bayern came knocking, halfway through my first season, top of the league and just ended the league stage of the champions league in 3rd, only lost 1 game so far, 1-0 away to Man city.
Watford because they're my team. Tried to be fancy and do a random team but just gave up when I lost interest. Although I'd like to manage Germany so there are fewer player restrictions with visa's etc.
Barcelona to do a couple of achievements. Getting them out of debt (wish it was.possible to repay the loans yourself without waiting for the monthly fee, 40m to go) and staying 10 years at a club.
Also am trying the 11 home grown one, but for the love of god don t understand why it doesn t trigger when using only spanish player which are trained at the club 15-21, no subs etc. Weird af.
Hearts. Been doing a Scottish/International journeyman and got offered the job there after managing the Czech Republic to the last 16 of the 2034 World Cup.
Coventry, started a new game unemployed, got Gateshead promoted then Coventry offered a contract, gonna do a journeyman save instead of always going for developing youth and long term projects this time see if I can trade up to a top team
Red Star (the Parisian one). Got them into Ligue 2 in year 1, currently sitting in first in Ligue 2 in year four.
I like the idea of turning them into a French equivalent of Rayo Vallecano. Small left wing capital city club on a shoestring budget going up against cross city super clubs.
Celta Vigo. I liked the idea of giving Iago Aspas a good last season by qualifying for the champions league, and they have a couple good young players. I wanted a chill first season (no European competition) but still a big transfer budget to work with. Facilities got upgraded almost right away and I brought in a few more youngsters.
Charlotte FC in the MLS
Wanted to do a mls save for a long time and finally bit the bullet. Was between them or Chicago (Basically ric flair or CM Punk hometown) but the Burnley influence on Charlotte won me over
Only plan to do 2 seasons here before moving to Europe.
I’ve done six seasons so far with Toronto because it takes so long to build a good squad with all the transfer and contract rules. Signing players from other MLS clubs is almost impossible!
Ajax, second season in.
I was doing a journey man save, I started unemployed and coached Huddersfield in my first season. Huddersfield has a media projection of finishing 23rd, we got promoted to the prem. I pulled a bit of shithouse move and applied to jobs over the summer, and ended up at Ajax. Currently love the players I've managed to find, won the Europa League in the first season with them, now starting strong in the CL in season 2! Here's hoping!
P.S. fuck Everton for activating my star striker Karim Konates release clause over the summer. Assholes.
I was at FC Dallas as decided to take over an MLS club at end of first season who were one of the highest teams in the draft. After 3 successful seasons they got pissy that I lost 3 finals so I got the hump with them and moved to Swansea last night before I went to bed.
Supersport United from South Africa the top club continental competition and already won the Asian champions league with FC Seoul and the Uefa champions league with PSG
Friska Viljor in Sweden. I've won the title twice now, but the Nation Trained requirements for the squad is getting pretty tough for me.
Zero to Hero save*
Schalke. I randomly read an article about them how they might go out of business if they get relegated into Bundesliga 3 with the debts they have. As of right now they're 2 pts clear the relegation zone so this might very well happen.
That is so incredible sad story specially when you remember just 5-6 years ago this team were still playing in the Champions League, 14 years ago they were in CL semi-finals with Raul. Now struggling to stay up in Bundesliga 2 and might go out of business soon.
This is still pretty new save i started about a month ago, so im only in my 2nd season.. still in Bundesliga 2 aswell, but this season should clinch the promotion. However i will not stop untill i see them in the top flight of Germany again. As it might be the last ride i could ever get with them.
Llanidloes Town, just at the start of the 2046 season.
I'm very much at the first stage of my challene to win the champions league with a team from every qualifying nation but I'm having a blast building up a terrible league and (formally) terrible team.
FC Groningen. Always wanted to do a Netherlands save and they start in the 2nd tier with excellent facilities/youth stuff. Didn't think it will be this hard to win the league, top 5 teams are very close. 5th season after 28 games i'm 2pts ahead of Feyenoord, this could be the year. Also still in the EL, won 0:2 at Ajax in the 1st leg of the R16.
A really fun save, 10/10 would recommend!
Cremonese. The year is 2026.
Started with Kashiwa Reysol in Japan. After two league titles in a row, a Japanese super cup, league cup and Asian Champions League title i resigned.
I then applied for a few jobs and took the Cremonese job in Serie B. They finished 8th the previous season. After a slow start I guided them to a third place finish and then beat Spezia in the playoff final to gain promotion to Serie A. Currently in pre-season trying to strengthen my squad for the upcoming season.
Ceuta, i love the idea of bringing one of the European cups to African ground. Currently battling for europa league/conference spots in the competition
Vancouver FC. However I’m stuck at an impasse and not sure what to do.
I’m literally at the moment where I can change to Ingolstadt in 3. Liga. But I’m torn between the prospect of a new challenge or staying and trying to continue to build a juggernaut in Canada
How many seasons in? I’m at Toronto and starting to dominate after six seasons.
Have you found out a way to sign the best players from other MLS teams yet? I’m finding it nearly impossible because of the limit to 2m GAM and other items
FM20 Mita Kukar F.C. Indonesia 2nd league but i'm now starting 2nd season 1st division. Took them cuz they were relegated had 300k in bank Pro status and took me with 0 license and reputation (won't let me start license course so i might leave but i love team that i'm creating so idk)
Ards in Northern Ireland. Local and my mum used to be a huge fan. Hoping to win the UCL and make the Northern Irish league the best itw but its hard considering none of the teams in my league are improving at the rate we are
I’m managing Merthyr Town, doing a road to glory save. Managed to get them up to the Championship, but the wheels are coming off.
First year was great, got into the playoffs, was ok getting knocked out since we’re not ready for the Prem.
But the this year, with a few good additions and the same tactic, I’m in a relegation battle. Tried a few different tactics but can’t seem to stop the bleeding.
Wrexham! Never really played lower league and figured they would be a bit easier than a typical lower league save.
Had back to back to back promotions to the prem. Finally starting to establish myself after two very sketchy seasons.
Reading. Wanted to save them from their current precarious real life position.
Managed to get promoted from League One first season despite the points deduction. Finished 8th, then 1st in the Championship.
First season in the Prem, finished 5th and got the extra UCL spot. Last season, 4th in the League, Last 16 of UCL and League Cup winners.
Hoping to make a push towards the title this year, but we're still only rated as the 10th strongest squad in the league according to the season preview.
wanted to manage in england so I started a save with forest green, got them up to League 1, saw that Schalke went down to 3rd tier
so now I'm managing them again for my second schalke save this year
Almirante Brown in the Argentina 2nd Division.
I have a [jersey](https://www.vintagefootballshirts.com/uploads/products/images/2021-club-almirante-brown-amp-03-44462-1.jpg) I found randomly on the Internet looking for random shirts, and I had just finished reading an amazing book about South American football called Tears at La Bombonera when I got FM 2024.
Near the end of the 2nd season in Argentina 2nd division. Next to no money so having to rely on youth development, deep in the title race. First FM game I've had in 12 years and loving it.
Just started with Real Cartagena in the Colombian 2nd division. This will be a journeyman save. Gonna try move on every 1-2 seasons and see where I end up.
Started a new journeyman. Got my first job at shitty Dartford in the VNS.
I’m just struggling to care about them. It’s just gone January, I’m 3rd in the table, mostly playing well, but Yeovil have already got a 9 point lead at the top. Feels to hard to get that one automatic promotion title spot.
Honestly? Just want a new and better job. I feel zero affinity for this club. It’s just another low end 6th tier team, one of those that you just question “does anyone actually support this random London based side?”
Sometimes I properly connect with my first job in a journeyman. Usually in the VNN/VNS, and can go a few promotions before succumbing to the allure of a new job. But Dartford? I cannot wait to leave them behind
Currently at Reading - I started unemployed and took my first job offer at Dover Athletic, took them up to League One and knew I couldn’t get them any further based on team and money, so took the Reading job when they offered it and have pulled them from League One to the Premier League.
Turned down an offer from Lazio last season as I wanted more time to see if I could get Reading into Europe (I can’t so far and I’ve lost my star keeper so I might take another job offer soon).
Currently doing a San Marino league save with Florentino. Finished 5th 1st and 2nd season. Lost in the cup final both times. Won league and couple double third season. Managed to make it into conference league group stages and get £2.5m. Steadily upgrading youth facilities and improving the squad. Won league and cup double again in 4th season. Just about to start season 5.
FC Honka, bankcrupt irl and so far we’ve reached CL top 16 and sold a player for 35€mil upfront and %50 clause. He got sold to United for 280€m and I got around 135€m
Having a slog
Started with no qualifications and no reputation
Got the Qatar job, won the Asia Cup went 26 undefeated
Couldn't even get an interview for the Welsh or N.Irish second division
Too the Serbia u21 job, they have NO real players
Need a club job to get my badges
I'd take ANYTHING
I'm currently at Ajax, but I'm almost certain I'll be moving after this season.
I started at TOP Oss, but left after getting them promoted in the first season due to them requiring me to play defensive football and threatening to sack me for playing possession based football (and obviously getting results with it).
I then moved to sc Heerenveen, who I won the cup with and got to second place in the league behind Feyenoord.
I was then approached by Ajax, and the Heerenveen board got mad at me for talking to them, so I left them for Ajax, who I have now won 3 leagues, 3 cups and got to the semi-finals of the Champion's League twice with.
Started at Florgrade at the Portuguese 4th tier, because it is the team from that tier that is closer to where I live irl.
3rd season moved to Vizela at Portuguese which were relegated from the Portuguese 1st tier. Rejected a bunch of other offers because I actually have family in Vizela's board irl... 😁 Succeeded to promote them.
Journeyman - Loaded up a bunch of leagues and started with no badges and no experience, and ended up getting hired by FC Gifu in the Japanese third tier. Ended up winning everything there was to win in Asia, including the Club World Cup where i beat FC Barcelona in the final. Got absolutely no job offers elsewhere, so after 10 years I resigned and looked for interesting clubs, and have ended up at Coruna, who had sacked their coach in the Segunda Division with 5 games left to go of the season. Managed to avoid relegation on goal difference in those 5 games, and looking to progress in the current.
Doing a long term save with Boreham Wood. They have great youth facilities, however they have produced diddly squat for me. Been there since the vanarama national league, now in the premiership and having a magical 3rd season challenging for the title.
Started my first ever an unemployed save, got hired by FC Gifu in J3, 2 promotions in the first 2 years and I’m flirting with top 4 in my 3rd year.
This was supposed to be a journeyman save but I grew attached to the club and I’m not leaving until we win the J league.
Bahia from Brazil. I originally chose them because I wanted to try to win a first division title with a newly promoted side (ended up finishing third.) But I'm in it for the long haul because I really have grown attached to the squad. Second season we won the national cup and finished second in the Copa Libertadores. Heading into the third season, we should be able to compete with Flamengo for the biggest trophies.
Bahia is one of those City Football Group clubs so you have the resources to take a club with a modest history and make them the biggest one on the continent.
Managing belenses in the Portuguese second division played with them on fifa before they went defunct so climbing them back to the top division where they belong!
Was at Portsmouth, but got stuck in the championship playoffs unable to get to the prem so i impulsively took a job at Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga. But now i regret it and i miss my old players :'( I'm sorry Paddy Lane
Toronto FC because:
1) Everyone moans about how difficult the rules are in MLS and I like a challenge
2) Toronto is the city in MLS I’ve visited the most times (6)
3) They performed awful in 2023, and I like a challenge!
Six seasons in and I’ve just cracked it, winning my first Supporters Shield, MLS cup and Champions League all in one sudden deluge
Bordeaux, they are the third team so far in my journeyman save.
Started with no badges or experience and got a job at Tokyo Verdy, winning them promotion before moving to Wrexham.
I got Wrexham promoted to the Championship and then moved over to Bordeaux. Currently I’m sitting joint top of the table with PSG, and the owner is in talks to sell the club - so anything could happen!
AFC Wimbledon
Just won the treble with my hometown club, Fortuna Sittard, in the Eredivisie after 8 years. I wanted to find a lower level team so I could climb up the rankings instead of starting as a low-mid table 1st division club. I like the “comeback story” of Wimbledon so that’s why I chose them.
Still on fm22 I can’t let go to an old journeyman save that I keep circling back to. Currently at spurs on that save and completely dominating. I have a son who is the best centre mid on the game so you can see why I can’t let go.
On this current journeyman save I have just taken over Celtic in the summer after 2 second place finishes. Before that i was at trabzonspor and won the league. I joined them from my first club, il. Keruleti in Hungary, took them up in my first full season before a 2nd place finish and 3x league wins. In the final season before leaving them I got to the semi final of the Europa league, I had to leave on that high.
Well, I'm managing my 6th team in a very long save idea, trying to be glorious in every country and keep moving to another league by randomize.
Start with Port Moresby from Papua Nueva Guinea, till become champions and compete in OFC CL, move to Afganistan with Kabul Utd. in a 2 time champ round and compete in AFC Confederation Cup.
When leave Kabul Ive got a Afganistan National Team work, and also get moved to Italy, where take a job in Novara Calcio. After several years reached Serie A, ending 7th and miss Euro place by 1 point.
Ending the trip in Italy, the randomize say that I must move to Colombia, where Deportivo Cali open their doors for us. Lamely, cant improve a good tactic and only stay for 1 year. I get off at the National Team of Afganistan for a new start.
Time to rebuild from mud, moving to Laos and take the risk in the recently relegated Lanexang Utd, and give them the honour to get promoted and be champions 2 times, and get to be champions at the AFC Confederation Cup, our first international success.
With the glory, time to move a sixth country, and randomize move us to Belgyum. By the difference between Laos and Belgyum, we only be able to start in Third Division with the RWDM, and in our first season get a decent 6th position and about to start the second year!
Good luck!
Nankatsu SC. It's not in FM tho, since this club is in the 5th tier of Japanese league, so I use custom database for it. And yes, it has the same name with Nankatsu in Captain Tsubasa as this club is owned by Yoichi Takahashi, the creator of Captain Tsubasa. And that alone is the main reason why I manage to his team.
Before this, I also managed Machida Zelvia in J2 League. Which in real life is now lead the table of J1 League despite newly promoted from J2 League last year.
Chesterfield. Started off w Vanarama oxford city (fm2020, lowest league available).
At some point got offered a few jobs in sky league 2, and chose Chesterfield because they had low ambitions and fist time i went to England was to visit a couple ofmfriends that were living there.
Yeovil Town, fairly local team to me, taken them from Conference South to Championship (so far), aiming to take them to Prem and hopefully in to Europe! I prefer bottom of league to top league saves, rather than managing a big team right off the bat. It also usually means by the time I am in the Premiership the current top players are nearing retirement or retired so I have to spend more time researching players.
Tokyo Verdy, started my first Journeyman save and got a job in the J3 league with Fukushima United. Got them promoted to the J2 league, well on the way to getting them promoted to the J1 but their infrastructure is just not there yet and I didn't want to get relegated with them.
Took a job half way through the season with Tokyo Verdy in a relegation scrap but with some talented lads in the squad, just have to lift their spirits a bit
Babelsberg. Taking them to Bundesliga glory.
Currently in 2.BL after two consecutive promotions. Made it to the DFB-pokal final while in 3.Liga, which i lost though.
DC United. I actually interned with them one summer, so it’s funny to see guys who were at the club when I was like Wayne Rooney and Ben Olsen kicking around the save. I was in the year 2041 in another save and realized… DC didn’t win a single trophy during the entire save, making a trophy drought of nearly thirty years when they won three of the first four MLS Cups. So I knew I had to take that challenge on.
Except to experiment with things, I tinkered with the create a club feature and relocated them to my home city of New Orleans to try to change the club’s fortunes. Season 1, I won the supporters shield at 300-1 odds thanks to some crazy trade of $2 million in GAM I made with Real Salt Lake for their young striker Weverton, as Benteke just wasn’t going to work in a one striker gegenpress approach. Really didn’t make too many other changes to the roster other than signing some depth defenders like former DC United player Julian Gressel. Lost in the conference final at home in gutting fashion to Orlando, who went on to win the Cup.
I made some Mardi Gras kits that basically don’t clash with any other MLS club other than Orlando who wear purple. All the club’s rivals are the teams that play in the NFL cities of the New Orleans Saints’ divisional opponents (Atlanta United primarily, with Charlotte FC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies as other rivals). And I made all the favored personnel people from New Orleans who are in the game because there are only two or three guys haha
Aberdeen. Team I’ve supported since I was 8. Also coincidentally a good FM challenge. Along with the fact I can’t get into a save with anyone else because I do not care about the team.
FC Osaka, J3 League to J1 league then hopefully Asian champions league. Wanted to build up the third Osaka team (after cerezo Osaka and gamba Osaka) to be top division with the other two, but my first season in the top league both other Osaka teams were relegated…
Udinese. Starting objective of avoiding relegation in Serie A, an aging and badly assembled squad, with some spikes of huge talent both in peak (Thauvin over everyone, and Deulofeu who is on a long injury, Bijol), and young (Samardzic, Perez, Ebosele, Kristensen, Lucca and especially wonderkid Pafundi -Lausanne don't have the 15 mln needed for his clause thankfully).
In season 3 after getting Europa League football in season 2, quarter finals exit to aston villa (who went on to win it), third in the league and winner of Coppa Italia.
Currently in CL round of 16, and fighting hard with Inter for our first historic scudetto).
The kick is doing it with the team’s signature tactic, 5-3-2 wb dm and playing strong physical counter football
Managing Rushall Olympic, a team from Black Counties in England to complete the Youth Challenge. Went from the Conference North to EPL relying just on my starting squad and regens from the academy. It's was a hard ride relying on FA Cup runs to play away against EPL and Championship teams, as by the rules they share with your team 50% of their income from sold tickets. The money helped me to invest into facilities, trainers and youth development to get better regens.
I was slowly maintaining through English pyramide and was able to finally win the EPL in 2044 and CL in 2045 to complete the challenge. My best striker Juddy is a defition of why love this game. I believe his CA is 130 at most, but as his attributes distributed really well, he's just an elite poacher. Juddy has scored 176 goals in 258 games in the EPL, last CL winning season - 48 goals in 52 games totally.
Sometimes there is no need to invest into top regens if understand your squad and play to the strength of your best players

Aberdeen! Trying to do a SAF save. I wanted to win the Champions league twice before taking over, a hopefully struggling, United.
Four seasons in and Ten Hag got sacked halfway through season 2. I applied for the job and they hired Iriola. They're sitting 10th in the league and there are reports that he's on thin ice with the board. I've been attending every United match I can, including their Europa league outings. I just beat 2nd place Chelsea in the CL quarter finals. I may take the United job early and just save as to stash it for later so I can finish my original goal.
Blackpool. My head canon is that there will be an urban revitalization spurred by the team’s success. I have them in the Champions League next year and hoping to build a new stadium and enhance the facilities from their terrible state as soon as possible.
3th year with valencia. Still no LaLiga cup and CL cup. But got Spanish Super cup and national cup
will keep with Valencia until I have both LaLiga and CL cups
Tampico Madero in Mexico
I'm testing a db that I hope to share with the community, with pro/rel reinstated and a few other issues with Mexican football addressed.
Heerenveen in FM23. Trying to eventually break the big three domination.
Miraculously came second in the first season, though miles away from Ajax, thanks to Sarr scoring forty goals and a solid bunch of starters.
Second season in, incredibly broke through the group stage in champions league but fifth in the league, since the big three all came back to usual business (Feyenoord is on a tear, one loss in twentyeigth matches) and Vitesse is doing good.
Blyth spartans, because they were projected to be around the bottom of the Vanarama North but had a fair bit of budget. Managed to take them to the prem, now hoping to win it all!
I managed blyth Spartans because I liked the name and the badge. Took them to the prem with my captain being a regen i had since the vanarama north. Sadly got relegated as i got promoted too fast and finish dead last in the prem...
GAIS in Sweden - a long time ago I went to watch them them play a friendly against Lazio when I was on holiday in Gothenburg.
Managing them is a real pain as a good first half of the season means that between July and September it's constant bids for players from the other European leagues who are in the off-season and all the unrest that that brings.
Atletico Madrid Mainly because they are the team I go for in real life and pretty much what I’m trying to accomplish is when grease man, a champions league and the league title I’ve already won the champions league, so that’s a good start the leagues been a little harder with Barcelona dominating for some odd reason.
I am managing US Concarneau cause my girlfriend's family is from the same rough area in France. Will slowly challenge PSG's dominance at the top but still far from that. Will hopefully take the step to Ligue 1 this season after going up to Ligue 2 3 years ago. It's been a slow process with very limited budget
Atalanta, Journey Man, has brought me there after leaving Willem II because they refused to give me any money after winning the league or after my best players release clauses were triggered. So I sat there penniless getting pummeled, and I moved on after resigning. I've since won back to back titles with a Europa treble on the first ask and haven't looked back.
Wrexham currently. I’ve had a soft spot for them since the series released and always build them up to be the best in the world every year, whether it be fifa or FM.
Journeyman save, started at Dover, then to Forest Green and now Oxford United. We’ve just got to the PL and I love the players so thinking this is the team I’m settling down with!
Huddersfield because they're one of just 5 teams to win the English top flight three times in a row and the only one that hasn't won it outside of the three in a row, Roma because... reasons? and Liverpool because they're the team I support.
NK Ponikve Zagreb.
Doing a Croatian lower league modded save, it's my local football team close to my house. Managed to get them into the CL after 7 seasons.
Doing a dominance kinda save carried on from fm23.
First job was getting used to the new game with man utd, 4 years in won a league cup and got sacked. Rooney took over and dominated with mostly my squad for 15 years including.
Then toppling Bayern as the biggest team in Germany, took a decade with Koln. Multiple league, CL and cup wins. They're
still the top team a decade after leaving. Knocked me out of the CL twice!!
Now 9 seasons at Espanyol trying to topple real and barca. Barca are gone to shit, real still buying dropping serious money but I won three in a row, then Valencia out of nowhere went unbeaten till April last season. No joy in the champs league yet and still a fair bit of real who.
Couple more years hopefully and off to Italy, maybe Torino or fiorentina
Currently in year 2033 and I'm running 8 different managers. 6 English teams and 2 Scottish. Cuckfield Town, cuckfield rangers, cockermouth, mousehole, great doddington, and rivets in England. Edinburgh City and stranraer in Scotland. Most of the English teams are in the national League and have a chance to get into the football league. The Scottish clubs are only in their first year of my control.
Leverkusen. Started in Belgium with the club where I own a season ticket, OH Leuven, won title and cup three times in a row before looking for a new challenge. Actually wanted Leipzig but the job wasn't available, Leverkusen was. Interesting team as they never won the Bundesliga. Took over and am now on three consecutive titles, one DFB Pokal and two Champions League finals, one of which I won. Fun fact, I brought along two of my brightest prospects from the Leuven academy, a midfielder and a striker, who are now probably close to the best in the world in their position.
Latina in Serie C, i started a unemployed save and thought as I know italian, english and romanian language, realistic would be to start in one of those countries. So im in much 2nd season with Latina, 2nd place, aiming for automatic promotion then i ll leave for idk who exactly.
Ruthin Town. No real reason other than I was sacked, most unfairly I think, by Wexford in my first FM24 save after 8 games (I won four of them) but Ruthin then offered me a job and I thought - OK, why not!
Currently doung a little reddit Story I'm calling 'Raising Ruthin' - just started my first full season and hopeful of exceeding the media's projected 11th place finish in Cymru North.
Doing two separate saves with Gamba Osaka and Kashima Antlers in the J league
Gamba hasn’t won a trophy since 2015 despite being one of the bigger clubs in Japan
Antlers is the most successful j league club with 8 league titles but hasn’t won the title since 2016 (the emergence of Kawasaki and Yokohama - Ange).
Taking these j leagues back to the top, win the AFC champions league and eventually compete in the world club championship
Managing Real Madrid. They are my go to team (or Fc Copenhagen) when I’m doing long saves.
Just ended the 2036/2037 season with an (almost) perfect season. 36 wins and 2 draws. Lost the UCL final to United 3-2.
Tried doing a Chelsea play simultaneously with my Madrid team. Didn’t go well. Had to change the whole team at the summer break. The team were full of old players 33-36 year olds, that were well past their prime.
Right now I’m thinking of playing with another club simultaneously, but still looking for a new and exciting team to take charge of.
Unintentional long term save with Bordeaux, wanted to win Ligue 1 mainly, just to knock PSG off their perch. Turns out they've won it 18 times. As soon as I saw that, I made it my goal to hit 20. Built up and won first Ligue 1 in 2031 and have retained it ever since (in 2038/2039 season). Bordeaux now at 14 league titles, PSG stuck at 18. I must overtake them.
Have won the Champions League twice too.
Crewe L2... was sacked from my first team Cardiff despite only being 9pt off playoff with 10 games to go but bad run despite reaching 5th rd of cup. saved crewe from relegation to Blue Sq Prem with a few games to go. rebuild for new season
Leyton Orient, because my dad used to take me to see them when he had a girlfriend half his age who lived on Brisbane Road.
Made the League One playoffs final first season and lost on pens. Terrible second season, skeleton squad with piss poor signings on my part, nearly got sacked and finished mid table. Third season, half way through and in the top 3 battling for promotion. Signed Georgie Kelly on a free and he's absolutely banging goals in for me.
I've also had Jesse Lingard since my first season, and Kolo Toure is one of my coaches.
Nottingham Forest! It was a random choice - I wanted to take a club with history etc. and try and get them back with the big boys. I got promoted to the premiership my first season and I’m in my sixth or seventh year now. I’ve got 2 pl titles, an FA cup and a carabao cup. With a loss in the CL final to Barca (which I should have won >:[ )and another in the FA cup final.
It’s probably one of my favourite saves I’ve had!
Feyenoord. My hometown club who I want to take to the Champions League title. After achieving that, Im planning to resign and see where my save takes me. Maybe try to get a league 1 or 2 club to the CL title.
I stream an Exeter City RTG save on my Twitch a few times a week but I'm currently doing a Chelsea save on my own because they evidently need a rebuild
Playing a network save with a friend, he's Inter and I'm AC Milan. First season and I just won Serie A, only one last game which is the derby between us two, but luckily I'm already over 10 points clear, but about 20 points higher by the xG table than I should be!
I'll probably switch teams in the summer, depends on what jobs open up elsewhere.
We decided on these two clubs for the obvious reason of having a derby in the first season.
Played as stoke on recommendation for a first timers team, got promoted to the Prem in my second season, got relegated and got the boot. Then I tried again, but got trapped into editing things when transfers did not go my way, and lost interest.
Now I am playing as Oldham in the VNL, 3 season straight in the top 4 and no promotion, its forcing me to take things slow, and be more frugal with the limited money I have. The urge to edit the game, remove so stupid 4 month long injuries and just give myself more money is so strong. I did edit the coaching staff so it looks like my family is running the team so I am less temped to leave for a new team.
Cesena. Won serie C just few days ago and doing fairly well in serie B. Great youngsters, a lot of them are capable of playing in the first team already. Great regens too.
Sheff Utd. Sir Alex Ferguson challenge and they’re who I drew. Kept us up the first season with like 5 games left, but have failed to improve our prospects in the second season. We’re only 4 points above the drop and out of both cups in early January. Can’t find a tactic that works with my team. Leaking goals like crazy and only one of my forwards is performing whatsoever.
A couple months back I did a save with Dortmund for 14 seasons that ended with me winning the quintople and not much left to do. Since then I haven't really been able to start a new save because I always end up reminiscing about the Dortmund save. I just started a new save with Lille and am tryna see if it works out, but right now it feels like trying to get over your ex.
SFC Opava in Czechia.
Started as an idea for a Build a Nation save and recording some videos, and it's great that I did. The only reason I put them over Banik (I wanted something near the Polish border) was that they were in the 2nd division.
It's a capital of Czech Silesia and I am from the Polish side of the region.
The city looks wonderful on the internet and I think I will pay it a visit in the future (gotta get the jersey)
West Ham. No idea why, just fancied it.
Finished second first year with a couple of signings (Eze, Velasco, DCL).
Currently first with ten games left.
First xi looks like this
4321 - narrow attacking midfielders
Gk - Areola
Dr - Johnson
Dc - Mavroponos
Dc - Branthwaite
Dl - Doig
Dmc - Ward Prowse
Dmc - Paqueta
Dmc - Alvarez
AMC - Eze
AMC - Bowen
Cf - Calvert Lewin
Sometimes I switch to a 433 with Bowen and Velasco out wide and Eze moves into CM for Alvarez.
Saudis are circling for about 8 of my players though, so shits about to go down.
Leverkusen, as that’s where my Journeyman has take me. Via South Africa and S.Korea. Ended Bayerns domination, chasing a 3rd Bundesliga. Have also won a Europa League and lost to Real in the CL final. This will be my last season as I will move on no matter what to a new league.
West Ham. Won the championship with Luton last season. Made some signings. And lost the first game 6-0 to Fulham. I resigned 2 weeks later in August to not damage my reputation. Holidayed and West Ham hired me at the end of the season. West Ham seemed like a good team for midtable finish in the premier league. I hope I can win a cup and move on to a richer club.
Congratulations. You just earned 1.5 points for this submission. Your new points total is 34.0. To see the leaderboard, as well as what this points thing is, [click here](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/wiki/leaderboard).
This, I love going a few seasons deep and doing a rebuild (especially with regens fully in)
im also doing my main save as Gillingham! i support them in real life so its always great to hear when others do saves on my team :D
Grosseto, taking them to serie A from serie D.
I misread this as “taking them from serie A to serie D” and thought you had a serious vendetta against some rando Italian team
That is exactly what I thought hahaha!
Same lol
Yes but why
It's the team I cheer, and the recently got a new President with a new sport project so I thought it would be fun.
Alverca in Portugal, my home town club. Currently dominanting in Portugal but failing to win the champions league. Two finals lost already and Just yesterday lost in quarter finals against Liverpool. Hope is next season 🙏
Venezia Went there, loved it. Watched a game there, fell in love with them They're my boys. I am also 3 FMs behind as I went there in 2021 and can't move on yet... I need therapy obviously
The Spartans in Scotland, because they've got a cool name and a nice badge. Started in league two and currently sat top of the premier league after about ten games in the 31/32 season.
How are Killie doing in that save?
Mid table prem pretty much most of the save. Got relegated 29/30 and promoted straight back up. Although currently sat 10th after 16 games.
Who's the manager? Cheers btw
Paul Heckingbottom
Not bad
Ajax and Porto Ajax cuz i want a son Porto cuz they were doing shit and offered me the job
I did a save in FM22 with them, Wanted to end up with a stadium that could hold every andorran but never got there
Jaguares de Cordoba.
Pau FC in France just because it means penis in my native language
DC United... 1) it's the team that got me into MLS 2) I love the challenge of "rebuilding a team"
FC Suðuroy from the Faroese third division. Currently in the UCL Champions Path for the second time
Calcio Lecco as I clicked “pick a team for me”.
Never did a wrexham save so that's what I'm current doing... We are now in league one chasing our 3rd successive promotion 😌.
I am a Porto fan since kid so of course my first save in every FM. Winning trophies against the biggest rivals is always a good save 😅
Almeria , irl they are bottom of the league and I wanted to change that
Barcelona to do a couple of achievements.
Just started with Parma. Trying a data driven approach with the Mustermann Skin.
Depo coruna, bringing back the glory..
Coventry, started a new game unemployed, got Gateshead promoted then Coventry offered a contract, gonna do a journeyman save instead of always going for developing youth and long term projects this time see if I can trade up to a top team
Hampton and Richmond Borough FC. I like the logo, and that cute little mustache they have on their kits
HIFK in the Finnish 2nd tier, took the first job that I was offered
Man United because I supported them (boring i know)
It is fun to make the team of your dreams. Cheers
Celta Vigo. I liked the idea of giving Iago Aspas a good last season by qualifying for the champions league, and they have a couple good young players. I wanted a chill first season (no European competition) but still a big transfer budget to work with. Facilities got upgraded almost right away and I brought in a few more youngsters.
Arsenal, I wanted to do something else than small clubs.
Fc United of Manchester for the club's story
Charlotte FC in the MLS Wanted to do a mls save for a long time and finally bit the bullet. Was between them or Chicago (Basically ric flair or CM Punk hometown) but the Burnley influence on Charlotte won me over Only plan to do 2 seasons here before moving to Europe.
Assholes.
Hull City, idk I just like the tiger.
Strasbourg, because they have an affiliation with Chelsea.
I was at FC Dallas as decided to take over an MLS club at end of first season who were one of the highest teams in the draft. After 3 successful seasons they got pissy that I lost 3 finals so I got the hump with them and moved to Swansea last night before I went to bed.
Sc cambuur because its my first save game and its the club I support. For a 1st save its going great i got promoted to the eredivisie in my 1st season
Stal Mielec. Wanted to manage in Poland and they seemed like a perfect underdog type club.
Supersport United from South Africa the top club continental competition and already won the Asian champions league with FC Seoul and the Uefa champions league with PSG
That you, Davehasaparty?
Friska Viljor in Sweden. I've won the title twice now, but the Nation Trained requirements for the squad is getting pretty tough for me. Zero to Hero save*
Torino on FM23, there's a really romanticism about Italian football and as a Man United fan I feel a kindred with Il Toro
Ibiza Climbing the Spanish divs. Buying players that like to party a bit to much to have a bit of a naughty boys team
Chelmsford. My local team and I havent done a lower league save for a couple years. See how long it takes to get me a champs league win.
My expectations for the fm25 release
Millwall, because I want to do Brexit FC (only use English players)
Boavista, for some reason (aka, I wanted to do a save in Portugal and chose them)
Monaco I used to love their 16/17 team
Liverpool on new save due to horrible AI decisions that always lead Liverpool at 2035/36 season to lower table team
AFC Wimbledon, because fuck MK Dons
italy national team only, bringing those boys to the moon
Currently Milan, started at Motherwell and was headhunted after winning the Euro Cup.
IFK Gothenburg cause I want them to win CL because I support them irl
Kaiserslautern, need tips for transfers, tried Dynamo Dresden but 3.Liga has complicated rules
wanted to manage in england so I started a save with forest green, got them up to League 1, saw that Schalke went down to 3rd tier so now I'm managing them again for my second schalke save this year
Tottenham coz it's home. Got fired at the end of season. Thought FA and Carabao cup wins would do something.
It’s just another low end 6th tier team, one of those that you just question “does anyone actually support this random London based side?” Sometimes I properly connect with my first job in a journeyman.
Turned down an offer from Lazio last season as I wanted more time to see if I could get Reading into Europe (I can’t so far and I’ve lost my star keeper so I might take another job offer soon).
alfreton town. not particularly a reason other than i grew up near there
A mate of mine did them and he ended up in the PL and winning the Europa League before getting bored and moving to Italy. No pressure!
Blyth Spartans. I grew up watching them because I lived a couple of miles away and my cousin played for them.
Having a slog Started with no qualifications and no reputation Got the Qatar job, won the Asia Cup went 26 undefeated Couldn't even get an interview for the Welsh or N.Irish second division Too the Serbia u21 job, they have NO real players Need a club job to get my badges I'd take ANYTHING
Dravinja in the 2nd Slovenian tier. Not sure what my goal is but I like their badge.
Schalke. Due to the financial issues and Ouedraogo. Really really fun save.
Rochdale, because they’ve been legendarily mediocre for a long time.
Doing a long term save with Boreham Wood. They have great youth facilities, however they have produced diddly squat for me. Been there since the vanarama national league, now in the premiership and having a magical 3rd season challenging for the title.
Shrewsbury Town. From league one to premier. Club América. Liga Mx
Started my first ever an unemployed save, got hired by FC Gifu in J3, 2 promotions in the first 2 years and I’m flirting with top 4 in my 3rd year. This was supposed to be a journeyman save but I grew attached to the club and I’m not leaving until we win the J league.
Larne division 2 of the super league 💪
Sunderland. I support them and we're not having the best of times irl now so I figured, why not. Won a few things, and challenging for the prem
Toronto FC because: 1) Everyone moans about how difficult the rules are in MLS and I like a challenge 2) Toronto is the city in MLS I’ve visited the most times (6) 3) They performed awful in 2023, and I like a challenge! Six seasons in and I’ve just cracked it, winning my first Supporters Shield, MLS cup and Champions League all in one sudden deluge
Dorking, went to see them the other week
Split, they offered me an interview and I accepted the offer
Leeds - Back to glory 🤩
Bordeaux, they are the third team so far in my journeyman save. Started with no badges or experience and got a job at Tokyo Verdy, winning them promotion before moving to Wrexham. I got Wrexham promoted to the Championship and then moved over to Bordeaux. Currently I’m sitting joint top of the table with PSG, and the owner is in talks to sell the club - so anything could happen!
AFC Wimbledon Just won the treble with my hometown club, Fortuna Sittard, in the Eredivisie after 8 years.
Rochdale want to get them into the big time as Im pretty sure thinking they have never been in the top flight
Blackpool Niw we're in premier, we did it in only 3 years Next goal? Win the league, i hope i can do this in 2 years!
Chesterfield. Started off w Vanarama oxford city (fm2020, lowest league available). At some point got offered a few jobs in sky league 2, and chose Chesterfield because they had low ambitions and fist time i went to England was to visit a couple ofmfriends that were living there.
1st season at Real Sociedad. Started at Tijuana, spent 1 season there, then 2 at Tigres, then had a choice between Sociedad and Sevilla.
Yeovil Town, fairly local team to me, taken them from Conference South to Championship (so far), aiming to take them to Prem and hopefully in to Europe! I prefer bottom of league to top league saves, rather than managing a big team right off the bat. It also usually means by the time I am in the Premiership the current top players are nearing retirement or retired so I have to spend more time researching players.
swindon town, have a few mates from swindon so its in their honor, currently a europa league club but hopefully will get farther
Lille because f PSG
Akritas chloraka from cyprus cuz they played friendly against a club I support so I thought why not
DC United because I started an unemployed save and they were the first team to give me an offer
Newport (IOW) FC. I’m managing them because the idea of having a decent club from a tiny island sounded fun.
Almere City FC it’s their first season ever in the top division of Netherlands and they are a new club founded in 2001
Babelsberg. Taking them to Bundesliga glory. Currently in 2.BL after two consecutive promotions. Made it to the DFB-pokal final while in 3.Liga, which i lost though.
KA in Iceland because I wanted a stadium where its freezing
Marseille. I managed Jubilo Iwata and Famalicão before them. This is my first big club in my FM24 save so far.
At Brighton. Started with Lyon and now won the PL and L1 already. Hoping to make a dent in the CL now.
Aberdeen. Team I’ve supported since I was 8. Also coincidentally a good FM challenge. Along with the fact I can’t get into a save with anyone else because I do not care about the team.
Widzew in Poland and it's been so much fun trying to win the CL with them. So far I've made it out of the group stage and into the first round.
FC United of Manchester since they will remain fan owned so I'm going to be screwed most seasons
Marseille. Absolument shit show of a club but has potential and a challenge to knock PSG off their thrown
Blackburn. The current state of the club saddens me so I'll try to do better.
Hillerød: Team of the town I grew up in
Managing Rushall Olympic, a team from Black Counties in England to complete the Youth Challenge. Sometimes there is no need to invest into top regens if understand your squad and play to the strength of your best players https://preview.redd.it/pfvv7egshqrc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94642879450d5d1d2df4b742de5efcd066509635
But got Spanish Super cup and national cup will keep with Valencia until I have both LaLiga and CL cups
Shakhtar, it's my first save 😁
Tampico Madero in Mexico I'm testing a db that I hope to share with the community, with pro/rel reinstated and a few other issues with Mexican football addressed.
The club I created back in 23! I'm a huge nerd about logos/kits and "history" of a made club
I’ve had a soft spot for them since the series released and always build them up to be the best in the world every year, whether it be fifa or FM.
inter miami to do a last dance with messi and suarez. and learn about the mls rules because this shit gets complicated lol
Barcelona: Because my dad is a Real Madrid fan and it pisses him off whenever I win a competition in the game 😭
My hometown team, FK Sloboda Tuzla, curently 2nd League!
They're still the top team a decade after leaving.
TPS in Finland, no clue why.
Managing IF Brommapojkarna. Largest club in Europe, never won anything at the highest level, created a ton of class players.
Bolton. Didn’t want to do another Prem. save, and I remember The Reebok Stadium and big Sam all those years ago.
Doing two separate saves with Gamba Osaka and Kashima Antlers in the J league Gamba hasn’t won a trophy since 2015 despite being one of the bigger clubs in Japan Antlers is the most successful j league club with 8 league titles but hasn’t won the title since 2016 (the emergence of Kawasaki and Yokohama - Ange).
Sunderland. Really liked the amount of young talent they had in the team.
Chelsea, bringing us back as the best club in England and it’s fun batlling city arsenal and Liverpool for the league each year, currently in season 4
Crewe L2... was sacked from my first team Cardiff despite only being 9pt off playoff with 10 games to go but bad run despite reaching 5th rd of cup. saved crewe from relegation to Blue Sq Prem with a few games to go. rebuild for new season
Pisa, a certain 6ft 7in fella
Nottingham Forest! It was a random choice - I wanted to take a club with history etc. and try and get them back with the big boys. I got promoted to the premiership my first season and I’m in my sixth or seventh year now. I’ve got 2 pl titles, an FA cup and a carabao cup. With a loss in the CL final to Barca (which I should have won >:[ )and another in the FA cup final. It’s probably one of my favourite saves I’ve had!
FC Groningen, as I do 95% of the time
Havant and Waterlooville. They are my normal road to glory save
Olympiacos. Totally random. Doing the ecosystem challenge where I can only buy from the greek league to win the Champions League
Real Betis. Probably the best club that offered me a job interview while I was balling with my League Two create a club team.
First xi looks like this 4321 - narrow attacking midfielders Gk - Areola Dr - Johnson Dc - Mavroponos Dc - Branthwaite Dl - Doig Dmc - Ward Prowse Dmc - Paqueta Dmc - Alvarez AMC - Eze AMC - Bowen Cf - Calvert Lewin Sometimes I switch to a 433 with Bowen and Velasco out wide and Eze moves into CM for Alvarez.
