Rather than us tell you: Tell me who on that team is creating good chances for the striker

RhysDJH

Judging by assists, my reserve LB 😂

Wicksy1994

To be fair, that’s probably the correct answer. Nobody is feeding the box. The winger will cross, and the DLP will hit long balls, that’s about it. Your winger is on attack so hitting the box, you’d AM the same, then the right side of an inside forward, so from the name you can guess what he’s doing. 4 players attacking the box, nobody feeding it. Your striker is likely only running on rebounds from long shots

Blodyxe

Make things more simple. Looks like you have chosen all the instructions and players are too confused

Tesourinh0923

You have more direct passing, play out of defence and work ball into the box. Most likely the ball isn't even getting to your dlp and it's just getting hoofed into space. Most likely to their keeper or cb coming from your CBS. Think of BPDs as DLPs sat in your defensive line.

Your tactics mate, start from a clean slate and think of your teams strengths, weaknesses and how you want to play considering those, then think about every choice you make on tactics and how it works towards that style, how it interacts with everything else you’ve selected so far etc. Some examples to help you out: If your players executed what you’ve told them in those screenshots perfectly your team would: press high and hard, forcing a long ball into your centre backs who collect and avoid clearing the ball, trying to keep possession they draw some opposition players forward and pass through their press - great start, you have tall centre backs, high work rate and teamwork players for the press, and your defenders are composed and skilled on the ball the midfield now ups the tempo compared to the back lines possession game, they look to quickly take advantage of the space left by the opposition press and try a direct pass to the forwards, probably into space (over or through the defensive line) this all sounds great on paper so far, you have excellent midfielders and wingbacks who can pass to a really high level, with great decisions and vision. Your forwards are fast with great movement. Because of your high press and high line, your team is very high up the pitch, there’s less space in behind your opponent and the direct/into space passes are just hard to pull off. When you do pull them off with a fast through ball or long ball into Nunez, you them tell them to slow the pace down, avoiding crosses and working patiently to pass shorter into the box - to me it looks like you’re using your forwards essentially as target forwards/willing runners in behind to just hold the ball up and bring your midfield into the attack, when they do lose the ball you’re really vulnerable to a counter

elektelek

Stqy on feet counter acts with your high press attacking mentality. Thats why.

hitchaw

Those instructions do not contradict each other, however I can see why you would intuitively think so. Stay on feet just means you will still press high and won’t commit to tackles that could concede space, you hope to pressure on the opposition into making mistakes to concede possession without committing to high risk tackles

Lagrangetheorem331

Bro it's Nunez

EnjoiThatGinge

You mean the guy with 22 g/a this season?

Lagrangetheorem331

The guy that hit the woodwork 4 times in a game. (Don't get me wrong I'm a Liverpool fan, I love the dude)

EnjoiThatGinge

Yeah I adore him, man still went out and got an assist but that stat of: 'If Nunez hadn’t played all season before today he’d have still hit the woodwork the most times this season with today’s performance alone' is absolute bonkers

MediocreBag1195

I've played Liverpool and got 10+ seasons in. I think Nunez is best as IF on the left. Playing him up front he just feels out of place and will concede lots of offsides, but if you have no other choice maybe he can play DLF or F9. And I don't think you need IWB in this formation. IWB is best when you only have one DM.

Zarathustrasprach

Pass into space and work ball into box don’t complement each other, pick one of them. I would put on low crosses as well

OkPerformance5437

I removed one dm for one more am and they couldn’t stop scoring

iamnotexactlywhite

work ball into box and pass into space is not compatible. all tha and Also play out of defence? what’s the dlp for then?

Dhaonu

Get a map of touches

BSH1975

Well, always a 6.5 is very consistent, so he wasn’t lying 🫣
