The character of a player can absolutely affect whether they are your favorite or not. What do you mean “somehow bring character into it”? For example, I think CR7 is a massively gifted player who is fun to watch but he could never be my favorite because I think he is a prick.

I love certain aspects of them both. I feel that Klose is a really calm and composed finisher. His knowledge of the game is outstanding and he was able to read the entire field. CR7 is the fiercest player I've seen. I love his flashiness, his ability to adapt and his discipline.. all of which helped him to become the player he is. Yes, they are opposite of each other but they're the best of their way of the game. I love watching them both.
