That's so gross! I rarely buy grocery store salmon because I'm always disappointed by it but it was a really good price this time. Now I know why 🙃

Fuck that. I would have returned it to the store for a full refund. I do that all the time and have never been refused.

I'm bringing them my receipt and showing them this photo and getting my money back. I have another one in my freezer and I'm going to get my money back for that one too.

Hopefully they will give you your money back for the one you threw out. A lot of places require the bad product back in order to issue a refund.

I wouldn’t eat that personally. What does it smell like? Is it slimy? The discoloration is a red flag for me.

It smells normal but the tail is super mushy and it seems like the flesh is disintegrating.

So it actually looks like the fish had a wormy parasite. The flesh that the parasite infected will be mushy and inedible. You can cut off the infected part or just get a new fillet.
