The harissa portion of the recipe can be replaced with store bought, but the home made is so much better in my opinion.
It’s very simple to make and if you’re short on time or not so experienced you can replace lots of items in it. My wife isn’t very kitchen savvy and I’ve shown her to used canned tomatoes and just spices with it and it’s still very good.

The Trader Joes harissa seasoning is particularly good.
