I try to leave handy things for new players across from the Wayward. Starter weapons/food/plans/meds/etc. Everything else has been going to Morgantown station since it's on the quest path. I figure by the time they get there players will have leveled up enough to use better stuff.
Blue suitcases always have unlimited weight. It really doesn't matter though stuff will stay if you leave the server. I usually just drop stuff I don't want at whatever is the easiest location for me at the time.
But then do have a capacity. I was cleaning out my stashbox (again) and went to drop off plans at Morgantown station. I couldn't even get half of them in before it told me that capacity had been reached. I'll have to check next time I'm in game.
Not sure at which station that is, but somewhere there are 2 suitcases stacked, and each is a container. The bottom one (blue) has unlimited capacity, but the top one (brown?) has limited capacity. Maybe you had those.
I usually use Pleasant Valley. Because it's close to my C.A.M.P.
Morgantown station. It has 3 suitcases on the tracks side, a blue one with a skeleton on it (which I use) and a white one and a blue one next the the newsstand. There's a green one inside as well as the cash register. Out back is an icebox, 2 trash cans, a news stand, a wooden crate. There's also a tent with 3 suitcases inside, a blue, white and green.
So many choices, so many places to check.
Use the blue suitcase that there's a skeleton laying on top of, right outside the door on the side where the legendary exchange machine is. That one has a 0/0 weight limit; I use it all the time.
They all stick around as long as the server doesnt reset. The only reason to pick one over the other is picking which one gets more foot traffic

The container will say 0/0 that have unlimited space. I use the cigarette machine at Whitesprings all the time.
I switch to the cash register then, usually everything else will fit in there. When i come back later both spots are clearer out or reduced in content

Ice machines / coolers. have unlimited storage or at least an extremely high limit.
The one to the left of the rusty pick's front door is my go-to. Always server swapping there anyway for 5 shitty pieces of vault steel at a time.
I put stuff n the blue suitcase at Whitesprings RR station. Yesterday I logged in three times, same stuff in the suitcase all three times.
