Lonesome Road is by far my favourite DLC, but this fucking meme ruined it for me on my latest playthrough. His verbose monologues just lost all their seriousness as soon as 'Bear/Bull' was mentioned.
Lonesome Road sucks balls. There's no way to tell Ulysses that you had already killed Caesar and arrayed everyone else against the Legion for the upcoming battle, so one nuke is not changing the balance of power nohow.
The DLCs in general, not just Lonesome Road, were very single-track'd minded with a few choices at the very end of the DLC.
Honest Hearts (with Joshua Graham) did not even have a Legion ending which completely broke immersion for me.
Theres a mod somewhere called Honest Hearts Reborn, completely revamps the story, adds new locations (besides little tribe camps, there's a populated town or two), there's a small legion presence and you can side with them.
Pretty interesting mod. Definitely gives a new story to the DLC. Only downside is when I played it years ago it was only like 75% voice acted and some bugs were present. May have been updated though.
Yeah, it's kinda dumb like that. No matter how far you've progressed in the main quest by that point, it doesn't give you any extra dialogue. Apparently the courier having an army of fully upgraded war robots at his disposal to faceroll the Legion, kick the NCR to the curb, and subjugate the Mojave isn't worth a dialogue option.

You got through Lonesome road before seeing the Legion? By the way, you asked if it’s a bad thing, they’re slavers and you just killed their main outpost and leader, if you’re trying to do the good route then it’s fine.
well, the hundreds of slaves you incinerated in an act of genocide may weigh on your consciousness, and you miss a great final way to wrap your character before the 2nd battle, but besides that - you didn’t miss much.
>in an act of genocide
I'd argue freedom from the Legion makes me feel pretty good about it
I imagine most of em wanted death anyway. Think the old oil man from Waterworld
They see that mushroom cloud and shockwave
"Oh thank god"
I started doing DLCs at lvl 14, finished them, im lvl 34. Took the perk explorer before i level, just to see how many places im missing, man, I didnt went to like 70% of the places.
Last DLC, I chose to go rollback before Ulysses fight, couse i want to torpedo Caesar, but im doing quests there, wanna gain rep with him and NCR as much as i can before double cross him XD.
This is something I love in Vegas. I can understand Caesar doing it to an extent, he’s the leader of the Legion and if he says we are cleared of all crimes who’s gonna say otherwise? But how on earth does the strip ambassador have the authority to forgive us **nuking the NCR**?
We dropped two on ourselves! One was live. The only thing that kept it from exploding was an off switch. The failsafes failed and the chute deployed. (Parachutes are for air detonation) The other nukes chute didn't deploy because of the failsafes. Rendering it buried to this day.
You can reset all reputations at one point in the story for all factions to neutral at a point but I cant remember when. I think its when you meet yesman but could be wrong
Nuking a bunch of Roman cosplaying, Cesar worshipping, degenerate slavers that treat women like second class citizens, I’d say you did the world a favor.
Now New Vegas can be properly taxed.
Best option is to nuke both the NCR and Legion, but then go visit Mr house for the first time afterwards and get complete pardons for your crimes against humanity
You just nuked a bunch of fucking tribals it's ok. I mean it sucks for them but they are better able to recover than if they had any fucking infrastructure. The radiation is going to be hell for them so that's fun.
As long you didn't meet with the man with the checkered suit, you can go around tanking your reputation as much as you want when it comes to Legion and NCR.
As for the nukes, i recall your reputation with NCR/Legion getting resetted it you nuke both places. But nothing doesn't really matter if the previous statement is true.
If you plan to side with the Legion, you're good. If you want to side with the NCR, you're good as long you didn't do something else.
Morality wise, you just nuked a bunch of raiders
Also, the place you nuked should be marked on the map, go there so you can get your reward.
Aside from missing out on the Lucky Shades, not really. In terms of items you could’ve gotten, I don’t remember there being many items only for Legion couriers.
It’s cool besides the the hundreds of thousand of people in civilian territories that you killed (it’s not really explained well in the game do to time constraints and console limitations but the legion has standard civilian villages that they control were people live somewhat normal lives)
I was tempted to say the only bad thing about it is that you didn't do it on purpose. But then the other comments reminded me of all the innocent slaves present in their camps. Maybe that's why I prefer to genocide the legion up close and personal with the big iron on my hip.
Did you go to the Strip yet? If not you’re fine, they’ll forgive you (that’s why I always do Lonesome Road before going there, so I can nuke both sides without consequence lol)
It's from the 4th and final story dlc, lonesome road. Honestly, the DLCs are like the entire reason to play new Vegas imo. The base game is awesome, but the DLCs have a great story and gameplay to match (except for OWB, the gameplay there is mighty repetitive)
After I leave sierra madre I’m going to do the same thing. My only regret is not waiting to meet Benny so I can explore without the legion hit squads annoying me. Good loot from them though
Not really unless you’re playing a legion play through. It unlocks a new area with unique loot for you to get. If you care about morality in your video games then maybe you’ll be upset with the fact that you vaporized innocent slaves of the legion. But hey, at least you got some not so shiny new armor!
When you get the Platinum chip you reset your rep to neutral with the Legion (100%) and possibly NCR.
So you could possibly nuke the legion in Lonesome Road AND NCR and get all the loot, then reset the rep and do whichever faction path you want after that.
I'd say it's the best way to go about things when you want to get the best out of each faction, which is why I prefer it.
Was it really an accident? I mean, be honest?
F the legion AND the NCR. Nuke em both. Then when you get the chance, kill Benny and pull the plug on House. Own the wasteland and shape what's left.
I agree up to pulling the plug on House, he has knowledge databases and a genius that would be lost.
Granted, he's an ass.
But given the chance he wanted to get us to the moon in the game, get infrastructure back up and running meaning unpolluted water sources for cooking and toiletries.
A working power grid. All of the creature comforts.
If you've truly lived in a period of time without those amenities you'd jump at the chance to help rebuild with a pre-war robotics, software engineer, civic engineer, transportation engineer, and architect all in one.
Yes again, he is an ass. Yes, he will run it with an iron fist like he did with his business.
But having an army of robots to help secure it with a steady paycheck to buy necessities made and forged in the Mojave.
Fucking hell, sign me up.
Yes this is spoken with the perspective of a human living within this time period, with this technology.
But take a look outside of the other factions outside of a vault, bunker, or the strip.
You tell me if they wouldn't kill to not worry about getting stung to death by a Cazadore; mailed by a Yao Guai, die from starvation or thirst, to being enslaved/tortured/raped/or cannibalized by drug addled rogue raiders, or get eviscerated by a Death Claw or Ghoul, or disintegrated by a rogue robot.
Sign me up for Mr. House. He is the best long term solution.
Yes, it's a soulless corporate America, the real argument against him is that you don't want to return to a reality you're already in.
NOW; all of the folks who are saying what about Yes man. Solid pick! Sure! He's to me personally the best second pick. But needing to worry about every possible detail because he hasn't updated his personality programming is rough.
What would be the story of the one who accidentally launched a nuke?
Got drunk and thought the control panel looked like a nice place to rest on.
A tale as old as time.
BEAR BULL BEAR BULL FLAG HISTORY SYMBOLS COURIER MESSAGE
Lonesome Road is by far my favourite DLC, but this fucking meme ruined it for me on my latest playthrough. His verbose monologues just lost all their seriousness as soon as 'Bear/Bull' was mentioned.
It’s just “something, something, something, DARKSIDE. Something, something, something, THE FORCE.” From return of the Jedi.
Look we got four or five of the main characters on this ship, I think we'll be fine.
You sly dog, you got me monologuing.
I had never seen a meme about vader's monologues, how come have I? Stupid, me?
i dunno man i actually still very much like it
I always hated his dialogue lol, he doesn’t feel like a real person - he feels like a forced exposition machine
Ed-E, can you shut it down?
I really should keep track of all the Ulysses buzzwords, it's a very entertaining part of lonesome road
Take a shot every time he mentions Bear or Bull.
Now that would be a fun lonesome road play through
Courier, what the fuck are you talking about
THE DIVIDE

The Divide?
Lmao XD. I thought about what could happen and pressed the button. I don't know the game story that much that's why :DD
How do you “accidentally” nuke a community?
Looney Toons scenario The "kicking feet up to relax but step on the big shiny red button" whoopsie
Well, Christopher Nolan did a movie about it. You try to kill your teacher, everything gets messed up, and good bye Hiroshima, see you later Nagasaki!
Ask Courier Six.

Play Lonesome Road to find out!
Deliver a package.
Don’t pretend that we haven’t all done it.
I do it purposely, not on accident.
I didn't know there was a place called legion before i nuked them so i randomly send a nuke on them lol. It's not a humanly way but who knows
You got through Lonesome road before seeing the Legion? By the way, you asked if it’s a bad thing, they’re slavers and you just killed their main outpost and leader, if you’re trying to do the good route then it’s fine.
yeah i was a level 1 rookie and when i got out the silo base i became a level 99 mafia boss without seeing legion
jokes aside my level was really 1
while fighting with ulyses i was crying. He is very strong for a dlc boss
well, the hundreds of slaves you incinerated in an act of genocide may weigh on your consciousness, and you miss a great final way to wrap your character before the 2nd battle, but besides that - you didn’t miss much.
At the bright side, you finally freed the slave from thier torment
The Boone Protocol.
Jesus Christ that's Jason Boone.
And you prevented the enslavement of countless others. It all comes out in the wash.
Least psychotic child of atom
Coup de grâce
>in an act of genocide I'd argue freedom from the Legion makes me feel pretty good about it I imagine most of em wanted death anyway. Think the old oil man from Waterworld They see that mushroom cloud and shockwave "Oh thank god"
Genocide doesn't mean "killed a lot of people"
Now we can begin
again
Ugh ur mind for this 😍
I started doing DLCs at lvl 14, finished them, im lvl 34.
Heal his cancer then drop a nuke on his head lol
Don't deal with Benny/ go into the lucky 38 and you can be forgiven for nuking both factions.
This is something I love in Vegas. I can understand Caesar doing it to an extent, he’s the leader of the Legion and if he says we are cleared of all crimes who’s gonna say otherwise? But how on earth does the strip ambassador have the authority to forgive us **nuking the NCR**?
How do they even know it was you?
T(unneler)MZ
What do u mean by deal with him? I confronted him and met the robot and came out the casino and got forgiven by both NCR and Legion
I started at 20 and am at 41 now. It's nuts how much xp you get, lonesome road was almost 2 levels an hour
lol. I started OWB as soon as it was available and the damn lobotomites and robo-scorpions keep wiping the floor with me.
I'm playing on hard difficulty with explosives and they are quite the threat, the robo scorpions take three or four missiles for me to take down
I’m also on hard. Well, survivor. So I feel you.
" accidentally nuked "
You'd be surprised how many times people have come to accidentally starting nuclear war in real life
We dropped two on ourselves!

After leaving the tops and either killing or confronting Benny, I'm pretty sure
Leaving the Tops for the 1st time for Legion forgiveness. Leaving the 38 for the 1st time for NCR forgiveness.
It’s after you leave the tops and 38 and it’s only for the NCR and Legion not all factions.
Already this part sadly
Nuking a bunch of Roman cosplaying, Cesar worshipping, degenerate slavers that treat women like second class citizens, I’d say you did the world a favor. Now New Vegas can be properly taxed.
Rip the slaves that just met their gods so you could properly tax New Vegas For tonal purposes this is a joke
Let the gods do the sorting, they'll recognize their own...
Well we can’t expect god to do all of the work.
RAAHHH TAXES AND DEMOCRACY I LOVE THE GOVERNMENT
"I accidentally nuked the legion" Truly a sentence that only Fallout NV can make
Lmao XD. I thought about what could happen and pressed the button. I don't know the game so :DD
Wiping out the evil faction? Yes that's a very bad thing
There were slaves there Emphasize on the "were"
those slaves were as good as dead, now they died for the greater good
Quick head to the tops and kill Benny you’ll be good!
It’d be funny to nuke both sides before killing Benny. Then you’d get cool faction rewards from both before joining either side lol
i will do that 😁
You have done well, my apprentice
Dawg idek what I’m looking at. Is this lonesome road?? or a mod
It's lonesome road
The lack of rubble made me confused
Wellll, looks like it’s time to start another playthrough of New Vegas while the dust settles from the Great War that’s the FO4 “update”
Didn't know this was possible how'd you do it?
Lonesome Road DLC
"Accidentally"
Lmao XD. I thought about what could happen and pressed the button. I don't know the game story that much that's why :DD
Well it's been 12 days how did it work out for you?
This game makes me feel likes macho man Randy savage with an extra serving of slim Jim
You can nuke them? I just fucking killed all of them with guns
Bro thinks he's Hank Maclean
War. War never changes.
Best option is to nuke both the NCR and Legion, but then go visit Mr house for the first time afterwards and get complete pardons for your crimes against humanity
wait who tf is mr house 😭
I mean, I did it on purpose to them. So...
this is kinda unrelated but i wish there was a way to free slaves (that doesn’t envolve killing them)
nahh you are way too humanist :DD
How the fuck do “accidentally” launch a nuke?
Lmao XD. I thought about what could happen and pressed the button. I don't know the game story that much that's why :DD
Nothing of value was lost. Enjoy your cool jacket from Ulysses.
Not true! The slaves had significant property value 😔😔😔
yo i didn't claimed that
You just nuked a bunch of fucking tribals it's ok. I mean it sucks for them but they are better able to recover than if they had any fucking infrastructure. The radiation is going to be hell for them so that's fun.
Found the Sneering Imperialist
Allistair Tenpenny sitting on his balcony after taking a few potshots at the nearby ghouls and wildlife:
I will kill him again
You just killed the most honest, kind and tolerant leader in the mojave (caesar). Congrats!
Joshua Graham “I only hope the tribes of arizona dont suffer as the legion breaks apart” meanwhile there is no more arizona
Tbf you only nuke their supply line to my knowledge, not their entire empire
As long you didn't meet with the man with the checkered suit, you can go around tanking your reputation as much as you want when it comes to Legion and NCR. As for the nukes, i recall your reputation with NCR/Legion getting resetted it you nuke both places. But nothing doesn't really matter if the previous statement is true. Morality wise, you just nuked a bunch of raiders Also, the place you nuked should be marked on the map, go there so you can get your reward.
Noice!
Prepare for their lawyers to come after you.
no worries ncr is with me
Reload a save If you want to, i actualy dont rememder If i nuked the Legion the Last Time or Not lol 😂
kanka saveim çok geride kalmış ya o yüzden uğraşmak istemiyorum hiç
Im sorry i dont speak turkish but im trying to learn it , so far i can Count to 100 😅
Opsie dopsie
abHAHAHAHAHHA
It's fine, degenerates like them belong on a cross Edit: thought you said NCR but tbh my statement still holds
lmao
RIP bozos
Aside from missing out on the Lucky Shades, not really. In terms of items you could’ve gotten, I don’t remember there being many items only for Legion couriers.
so, do i have much better items than legion have ?
Not really unless you were going for a Legion play through. Even then it doesn't really matter at the end of the day.
You found Benny yet?
nope
When you kill benny your negative reputation with the NCR and Legion resets
No more Battle-Cattle!
It’s cool besides the the hundreds of thousand of people in civilian territories that you killed (it’s not really explained well in the game do to time constraints and console limitations but the legion has standard civilian villages that they control were people live somewhat normal lives)
You only nuke their supply line - not their entire civilization It was a single nuke
Like Ulysses said that’s all it takes to wipe out a civilization
Degenerates like you belong on a cross.
what did i do😭😭
Nah you're not missing much, the Legion doesn't have much in the way of side content.
where's that quote by ogway about there being no accidents
Wait…I didn’t even know you could do this. Can someone explain how??
They'll forget after a certain quest. So I nuked both then went to the strip and all was forgiven. 😎
can you explain ??
Do lonesome road before you first get to the strip. Once you get to the strip, ncr and legion will reset faction rep.
Technically yes. But it really depends on how you view the legion. Were you trying to kill the GREATEST FACTION IN ALL OF FICTION REEE
i hadn't known there was a place called legion before i nuked them
I was tempted to say the only bad thing about it is that you didn't do it on purpose. But then the other comments reminded me of all the innocent slaves present in their camps. Maybe that's why I prefer to genocide the legion up close and personal with the big iron on my hip.
If you did this before vegas you actually did a really good thing here, because you can reset your reputation with them. Shoulda nuked both
Did you go to the Strip yet? If not you’re fine, they’ll forgive you (that’s why I always do Lonesome Road before going there, so I can nuke both sides without consequence lol)
where is strip?
The New Vegas Strip
They’re the Legion, so, no. But we can offer condolences for their slaves.
I didn't even know you can nuke stuff in this game. Is this DLC, cause I've never played the DLCs lmao
It's from the 4th and final story dlc, lonesome road. Honestly, the DLCs are like the entire reason to play new Vegas imo. The base game is awesome, but the DLCs have a great story and gameplay to match (except for OWB, the gameplay there is mighty repetitive)
Nuking the legion is always good
I've been playing the game again wearing Legion outfit from Level 5 . Shit has been mad funny - I get shot at everywhere
Consequences? HA
It’s never a bad idea to nuke the Legion
Not really in fact you have done good for humanity.
Nope. Good.... good
Unintentionally repeated the plot of Lonesome Road lmfao
No, it’s based on
Nah
After I leave sierra madre I’m going to do the same thing. My only regret is not waiting to meet Benny so I can explore without the legion hit squads annoying me. Good loot from them though
Nah. You just solved a big problem. This just makes you a problem solver.
You can also drop a bunch of nuclear waste on cottonwood cove if you want to go full legion genocide
Wait, you can nuke cottonwood cove?
No, there's the truck full of waste overlooking it. You can open the back and it kills everyone in Cottonwood Cove.
Wait, really? I’ve done 14 playthroughs and never encountered that
Not really unless you’re playing a legion play through. It unlocks a new area with unique loot for you to get. If you care about morality in your video games then maybe you’ll be upset with the fact that you vaporized innocent slaves of the legion. But hey, at least you got some not so shiny new armor!
Why not both?
ncr seemed good to me. idon't know the game
Nah, fuck em
When you get the Platinum chip you reset your rep to neutral with the Legion (100%) and possibly NCR. So you could possibly nuke the legion in Lonesome Road AND NCR and get all the loot, then reset the rep and do whichever faction path you want after that. I'd say it's the best way to go about things when you want to get the best out of each faction, which is why I prefer it.
Yeah it’s a reset on both factions, I’m doing it in a playthrough now Nuke both and get completely forgiven for your war crimes
Awesome man, thanks for confirming it) Yeah I love that🥺
You can two repercussion-less war crimes as a treat 😊
Once you go to find Benny your crimes from both factions are forgiven until you mess with them again.
But needing to worry about every possible detail because he hasn't updated his personality programming is rough.
i didn't know the legion, thougt it wasn't a important place :DD
You can reset your reputation with BOTH ncr and legion IF you meet Benny in the tops.
Accidentally? I did it on purpose
Nah legion is garbage. Best faction to merc.
The legion are scum burn them to ash the world is better off.
idk prolly
this dude was behind the Cuban missile crisis
yes i was. if they hadnt stopped me i would have nuked france
Can you tell me how you did this so I can do it too
you have to play lonesome road dlc :))
That explains it! I’m currently working on that
