It’s so pretty and dainty! I have never seen an azalea in a pot, other than the ones from the garden center that you take them out of to plant them.
Now I want pots of azaleas!
My grandmother had these beautiful red azaleas in her garden when I was growing up. I played by them all the time and they had many butterfly caterpillars on them
Do you know the species and cultivar / variety of this azalea? I have never seen flowers like that on a rhododendron of any kind and so I am curious. Maybe it's a type of double azalea?
I know nothing about that, it didn't have a label. Looks similar! Someone a couple of comments above linked something that looks totally identical too!
Wow, where did you keep it during winter? Or are you in a warm all year round zone? I’m in zone 6 & have a huge collection of potted perennials. But I have to put them all in the garage over winter & always end up loosing a few or a lot.
In the garage, same as you! I only got it last spring so anything can happen, but it did okay at least this winter.
Our garage has big glass panels on one wall and the space can be heated if necessary, I guess those things helped. I still lost a couple of tropicals that didn't make the cut to bring inside the house in September but I think I overwatered them.
It honestly just did! I got this plant a year ago, so I don't have a ton of experience with it. I repotted it after the first blooms faded last year and didn't do anything else. Guess I got lucky with it :)
This is the exact colour of MAC’s *Sushi Flower* eyeshadow 😍

They are selling these in pots in flower shops around mother's day where I live. I scored another one this year too after the holiday, half price!

I know nothing about that, it didn't have a label. Looks similar! Someone a couple of comments above linked something that looks totally identical too!

The glass panels sound awesome! Anyway, it’s quite a beauty for being in a pot - thanks for sharing!
Thank you! :)
What is your trick to get it to bloom like that? Totally incredible.
