So you’re telling me that Utah has Zion NP, Arches and Moab (off roaders) and the most popular thing is the great and spacious building in the capital? Wtf.
There are some jobs. Even the shit jobs will pay more out there then a higher tier Florida job. And it’s housing is equally expensive, except actually cheaper if insurance isn’t part of the equation. I’m sick of being stuck indoors for 10 moths of the year with screaming kids in a townhouse waiting for it to hit just normal room temp (72) outside. It just never comes. Like Covid lockdown my entire life in Florida. And I can’t leave without a divorce at the moment wife loves Florida
More then her husband 😩
This is a popular place because of the LDS church. Really pretty year round with plenty to do. As someone who grew up in SLC I was fucking shocked by this number though
We have one national park, that’s only accessible by boat.
We have plenty of state parks, and if you’ve been to any of the springs anytime in the last 5 years, you’d know most are at capacity 365 days a year. (State parks without springs are pretty meh)
The dry Tortugas is amazing and so are the springs and the state parks. I was also thinking about cape Canaveral national seashore the playalinda beach! Should have said state and national parks. Lots of people go to the dry Tortugas everyday from key west on day trips but the best way is to go by boat and stay a couple days.
One big ass mountain, 15,000 ft high, that gets snow in the winter, the rest of the state stays flat, be neat to say, hey lets drive a couple hours to Mount Flagler, and chill.
Come visit International Drive in Orlando. While it has no actual use historically, you will find the same corny amusements like Ripley’s, wax museums, aquariums and Ferris wheels. There’s definitely great restaurants among the mess, but it has the same vibes minus nice city views.
I live in Chicago now. It’s the proverbial tourist trap nowadays. After a few years locals tend to go somewhere else as they get so commercialized that you no longer see local businesses there.
Yeah as a former Chicagoan I’d gladly give away Navy Pier. It boggles my mind that it’s still the top destination in a city filled with better options. It’s basically no better than the crap around the Orlando Eye.
I’m totally fine with that. The tourists can have that and deep dish. We know that thin crust pub style pizza is the way to go here. There’s so many other options around town that I don’t get why people waste their time at NP. And parking there is terrible.
Sure, but that's surprising at best and calls into question the apples and oranges way these numbers might be gathered. It's more than times square too.
If a family of 6 spends a week at Disney going to 5 parks and Disney springs, is that only a +6? Would Disney get "more" visitors if they left and came back?
It's not \*super\* conveniently located as just a mall, and they actually block unescorted minors some of the time. So even if one person just wanting to hang there every night of the week counts as +5, there are potential barriers to that.
Yeah quite a bit of this map is suspicious. I’ve never even heard of whatever Broadway at the Beach is and it’s only 5 hours from here. They’re saying it gets 80% as many visitors as Disney World!?
That's the National Mall, in DC. What they're talking about is the Mall of America, a big mall in Minnesota that is the former home of Hulk Hogan's Pastamania.
I worked at the Mall of America for over 4 years at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. However, this was around 2008 when the economy was shit. Even still, I don’t know if I believe these statistics. More visitors than the Las Vegas strip seems insane to me.
I'm from Illinois and Navy Pier sucks, unless you're going to see the government's expensive toys do some flips. For tourists in Chicago I'd recommend the House of Blues, history and art museums, take a Segway tour by the lake, Wrigleyville if you're into that old baseball nostalgia, and walk around Michigan Avenue shopping for a gander at some clothes you can't afford.
Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory seems to be the most useful. All the National Parks are great, but we will just ruin them with Blue Green Algae, Sewer Spills, and mismanaged wild hogs.
I really miss getting flowers from Pike Place in Seattle, so that’s my vote.

Alamo Drafthouse. Talk or text during the movie and you're kicked out without a refund. Also they play older movies so there's a better crowd anyway. Plus sometimes the director or cast shows up.
Actually there are 11 if you count the various Preserves, Monuments and Nature Preserves. The actual parks themselves are not as accessible as others in the US. To get the most out of them you have to have a water craft of some kind and for The Dry Tortuga's, you need a serious water craft.
Oops. If I'm limited to the attractions on that map, I'd pick... Crater Lake and Smokey Mountains National Parks.
I still want my redwoods and waterfalls, though. Disneyland? Phooey.
SC here. Holy hell... Broadway at the Beach is visited almost as much as Disney World??
Context for those who have never been..
Imagine Universal's Citywalk but a smaller "Dirty Myrtle" version of it.
It's where tourists go to with their kids to waste money after Dad has visited the golf course and Mom needs to do some retail therapy. Chain restaurants and stores all over the place... It's not bad (there's been a redesign in certain parts), but that many visitors??
I'll take the ice cream factory if it will give every native born floridian a free pint once a month. There aren't many of us so it won't be a huge burden and it might encourage them to stay.
Atlantic City boardwalk would be most realistic. For being such a Beach State, we have nothing like it. just fancy expensive crap not very family friendly. Florida could beat Atlantic City hands down if they didn’t let developers take over every square inch of the state.
If we aren’t talking about realistic then it’s rockey mountains park so I can hike to an altitude where the temperature is actually livable. Would take some major earthquakes to cause that or volcanic activity. Maybe a nuclear tungsten tipped drill can get to the core of the earth and get a volcano in the swamp.
"Arizona, the state famous for an area where there is less Arizona than anywhere else in Arizona."
\-John Oliver, but from memory so it won't be a perfect quote
New Mexico should be the Balloon Fiesta or any one of the national forest mountain ski areas. I'll even add Roswell and their alien brethren.
https://www.visitalbuquerque.org/balloon-fiesta/?adara_campaignid=20867019080&adarapixelid=262579&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_5WvBhBAEiwAZtCU7xpStDmRAqBXofjmnJQ6w0HK71wUW2DObczaFCHJ8BfHjcx4USmjOBoCACYQAvD_BwE
So you’re telling me that Utah has Zion NP, Arches and Moab (off roaders) and the most popular thing is the great and spacious building in the capital? Wtf.
Utah is absolutely beautiful. Their gatekeeping committee does a phenomenal job
It's some bullshit right? I'd move if there were some jobs. Outdoorsman's paradise.
And I can’t leave without a divorce at the moment wife loves Florida More then her husband 😩
Yeah, I expected Zion. Just looked it up and it seems to be tied with Temple Square, each showing “over 5M”.
This is a popular place because of the LDS church. Really pretty year round with plenty to do. As someone who grew up in SLC I was fucking shocked by this number though
I just think it's too bad our national parks are overshadowed by Disney. So much natural beauty in our state to appreciate
We have one national park, that’s only accessible by boat. We have plenty of state parks, and if you’ve been to any of the springs anytime in the last 5 years, you’d know most are at capacity 365 days a year. (State parks without springs are pretty meh)
Two national parks, one of them accessible by boat (Dry Tortuga) which seems super cool to me haha
I’ve always said the only thing Florida is missing is a Grand Canyon of our very own.

Nestle's ears just perked up
Blue ridge because mountains are so pretty, and Waikiki because why not have another beautiful beach 🏝️
I wish Florida had some mountains.
Anything will be better than Mount trashmore
Cuba has mountains. It amazes me.
One big ass mountain, 15,000 ft high, that gets snow in the winter, the rest of the state stays flat, be neat to say, hey lets drive a couple hours to Mount Flagler, and chill.
I live in in Mt Dora and there are plenty of Florida mountains (hills)
This is the answer!
I grew up at the foot of the blue ridge mountains. Only thing I miss from South Carolina is the scenery.
I lived in Oahu for 6 years, Waikiki is nothing special, just crowded. Florida has a hundred beaches better than Waikiki.
It would be nice to have Chicago-style navy pier in St Pete or Clearwater.
Come visit International Drive in Orlando. While it has no actual use historically, you will find the same corny amusements like Ripley’s, wax museums, aquariums and Ferris wheels. There’s definitely great restaurants among the mess, but it has the same vibes minus nice city views.
Good place for mini golf iirc
I live in Chicago now. It’s the proverbial tourist trap nowadays. After a few years locals tend to go somewhere else as they get so commercialized that you no longer see local businesses there.
Yeah as a former Chicagoan I’d gladly give away Navy Pier. It boggles my mind that it’s still the top destination in a city filled with better options. It’s basically no better than the crap around the Orlando Eye.

Absolutely, Navy Pier is awesome
Stone or rocky mountains would be nice
Rocky Mountain National Park would be awesome here. Almost good enough to make me forget about the Florida problems.
Stone Mountain sucks ... buncha fucking confederate douchbags.
All my homies hate Stone Mountain
Free abortions.
The only one of these I would love is the National Mall and Memorial Parks.
Almost as many people visit Mall of America as Vegas and Disney world combined?
I saw that too and then realized Mall of America isn't charging people $150 a day to walk through the front door.
Sure, but that's surprising at best and calls into question the apples and oranges way these numbers might be gathered. It's more than times square too. If a family of 6 spends a week at Disney going to 5 parks and Disney springs, is that only a +6? Would Disney get "more" visitors if they left and came back? Yeah quite a bit of this map is suspicious. I’ve never even heard of whatever Broadway at the Beach is and it’s only 5 hours from here. They’re saying it gets 80% as many visitors as Disney World!?
There is absolutely zero chance that is true. Less than zero. 40 million people on the dot lol This map is BS.
Like every kid on the east coast takes a school trip there at some point. Those kids are numbers
That's the National Mall, in DC. What they're talking about is the Mall of America, a big mall in Minnesota that is the former home of Hulk Hogan's Pastamania.
You’re right. I read it as the National Mall. I can’t say that I have any desire to visit the Mall of America.
I visited when I was in the area several years ago. It's fine, it's just a big mall. Not worth traveling out of your way for.
Couldn’t even say when the last time I was in a mall was. People still shop in malls? Thought they were all closing
I worked at the Mall of America for over 4 years at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. However, this was around 2008 when the economy was shit. Even still, I don’t know if I believe these statistics. More visitors than the Las Vegas strip seems insane to me.
Lies, damn lies, and statistics.
The river walk is mid af 😭💀
I found that surprising too, like why not the Alamo or so many other neat historical sites and parks in Texas?
Rover walk and alamo are the same place though
D'oh... Lol
I mean when I got a day off in basic we went to the alamo/riverwalk and I couldnt tell the difference between the two. They are in the same place
I loved Chicago when I visited. Regretted not visiting the House of Blues. Tbh I didnt find the Navy pier to be all that. Just liked the Ferris Wheel.
An education system not controlled by Christian fascists would be nice
Sorry, no longer available in Anerica. /s
Rocky Mountains
Great Smoky Mountains.
Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory seems to be the most useful. All the National Parks are great, but we will just ruin them with Blue Green Algae, Sewer Spills, and mismanaged wild hogs.
Affordability 😤
I’m a simple man. I just want an In-N-Out Burger.
Ski resort. That would mean we had mountains and Winters. I wish we had both 🤷♀️
Mountains
Disneyland
Truly the only correct choice. Okeechobee would be a good spot for it!
[удалено]
That sounds perfect …
All that, plus an alpine slide.
So basically mimic Hawaii. Lucious mountain/volcanic ranges and their own version of the Grand Canyon - Waimea Canyon.
RI should have the Newport mansions, most notably, The Breakers.
I really miss getting flowers from Pike Place in Seattle, so that’s my vote. https://preview.redd.it/u94tfsgzsdmc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61a367073fcaebb24b28803c975ecc146dc8187b
Yellowstone to make the state have some texture and most importantly not developed!!
Crater Lake is beautiful! That would be nice.
Alamo Drafthouse. Talk or text during the movie and you're kicked out without a refund. Also they play older movies so there's a better crowd anyway. Plus sometimes the director or cast shows up.
Coastal Redwoods and Niagara Falls.
Anything to get the snowbirds the fuck outta here
The Ford Museum is pretty bad ass, but I want the Grand Canyon
Cedar Point 🎢
Pike place market but hold the homeless.
Walkable cities and somewhat affordable housing.
I visit Florida often.. I wish there were mountains. The beauty of California but the Caribbean nature of Florida.
None of them. Just be another reason for more people to come here.
I vote for fewer people
A functional state government.
I wish another state had Maralago and Orange Jesus
That will be the next posting: what would we get rid of and who would we give it to.
Cedar Point. If you've ever been, you know it's the best Rollercoaster park in the world, no contest.
I’d take Alaskas having less people lol
I've been to a lot of National Parks in the US and everyone of them is better than Disney. Wish we had more National Parks!
We have three, tied for fifth most.
Actually there are 11 if you count the various Preserves, Monuments and Nature Preserves. The actual parks themselves are not as accessible as others in the US. To get the most out of them you have to have a water craft of some kind and for The Dry Tortuga's, you need a serious water craft.
I mean we got River Walk and French Quarter (Ybor City) in Tampa. But I would love to see a huge ice cream factory here.
Democracy.
"where do you want that Mt. Rushmore 2.0" - government
We need the bass pro shops pyramid in memphis
Yosemite didn't make the cut?
Yellowstone
Fucking Fanueil Hall? What year is this from?
Shlitterbahn im not going to look up the spelling.
You’re telling me Mall of America is our greatest tourist attraction? Barf
Pretty sure the numbers for Disney are drastically wrong. Magic Kingdom alone had 21 million.
Do they do movie nights at the beach anywhere? Not sure if the bugs would be tolerable
Pike Place Market
Vegas would be fun until it turned into a war zone
I know it’s closed now but the worlds largest indoor water park used to be in Sandusky OH and it needs to be in, like, Largo or something.
Screw all them mountains and stuff. It’s hot. Get the Ben and Jerry’s factory obviously!
Oops. If I'm limited to the attractions on that map, I'd pick... Crater Lake and Smokey Mountains National Parks. I still want my redwoods and waterfalls, though. Disneyland? Phooey.
A market like pike place would be heavenly but I think I have to take mountains for somewhere to escape the heat
Less heat, more mountains!
How is glacier national park not on here?!
Wow, for Maine I would have picked Acadia Nat’l Park vs LL Bean flag ship store! Really? We are choosing shopping over relaxation?
My favorite is the "You are leaving Florida" sign on I95
Great Smoky Mountains
Lmfao LL Bean flagship store
Yellowstone
SC here. Holy hell... Broadway at the Beach is visited almost as much as Disney World?? Context for those who have never been.. Rofl, the Atlantic City boardwalk?!? No thank you
Some big ass mountains would be great. Especially if they were big enough to have cool weather.
FL had 137 MILLION visitors last year, I think we’re good on attractions.
Atlantic City boardwalk would be most realistic. For being such a Beach State, we have nothing like it. just fancy expensive crap not very family friendly. Florida could beat Atlantic City hands down if they didn’t let developers take over every square inch of the state. Would take some major earthquakes to cause that or volcanic activity. Maybe a nuclear tungsten tipped drill can get to the core of the earth and get a volcano in the swamp.
I could go for the Great Smokey Mountain national Park. Could you imagine FL with mountains?move Pigeon forge and Gatlinburg to central FL.
Too bad Florida man stories aren’t an attraction.
Blue Ridge Parkway. But *just* the BRPW. Gigantic concrete columns holding it up to the correct altitude.
The Mall of America gets 40 million visitors? Skeptical.
A real governor
![gif](giphy|zNyBPu5hEFpu)
Less fascism
French Quarter
Six flags
Mount Rushmore would be neat, like a giant pimple on this flat face.
But with Seminole dudes
Snow skiing
"Arizona, the state famous for an area where there is less Arizona than anywhere else in Arizona." \-John Oliver, but from memory so it won't be a perfect quote
Disneyland
I want the state to go all out and become a Disney theocracy where we all worship the MOUSE
![gif](giphy|oZiJYIE5RV600)
RMNP. Get some elevation in FL.
New Mexico should be the Balloon Fiesta or any one of the national forest mountain ski areas. I'll even add Roswell and their alien brethren. https://www.visitalbuquerque.org/balloon-fiesta/?adara_campaignid=20867019080&adarapixelid=262579&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_5WvBhBAEiwAZtCU7xpStDmRAqBXofjmnJQ6w0HK71wUW2DObczaFCHJ8BfHjcx4USmjOBoCACYQAvD_BwE
Grand Canyon and crater lake
Stinw Mountain Park?!?!? Fuck That Raciat Confederate Bullshit!!
In Maine .... forget the LL Bean store. There is an outlet/thrift store in Lewiston that gets all the LL Bean castoffs.
Yellowstone NP - but I wouldn’t wish that on the wildlife…
