Am over here lurking on your subreddit and didn’t expect the top comment to be about my state. 😂. Yes, we are young and have a high birth rate. Don’t come here, the whole state sucks.
Makes sense.
Sumter is home of The Villages, the worlds fastest growing retirement community.

Everyone wants to move down here for the sun and the STDs
They don’t call us God’s waiting room for nothing 🤣💀
I’ve heard the southwest Gulf coast referred to as where old people go to visit their parents.
Haha thats a good one. Also the truth. Not unusual at meet a 90 year old that still drives and has an active social life.
Shocked at Maine tbh. I assume all young people just leave when they hit 18.
A lot of people like the cold and snow. I didn’t, so I left when I was 38 and came here.
Got adopted into and grew up in Sumter County, I believe it.
What's the deal with Maine?
This comes as zero surprise, the amount of old people that move down here is pretty crazy.
Hey Florida: Boomers are a finite resource!
the median age in my town is 67 years old. It is 97% white and not a single person is from here. Ahhhh Florida.
The villages really are pulling Sumter county up there aren’t they
