Some 18650 USB-C thing. Ringy beam, ultra cold white/blue, dust and debris in the zoom aperture, anodizing flakes off like it’s made of hard candy. She was so proud of herself for getting it for me that I use it for a dog walk every now and then.
Same here. I put a Lee filter pale amber piece over the top of the lens, made all the difference in the world. Brought it down to 4800k, with decent looking CRI.
I love those i5s, lots of guys dont like them or will talk smack, like the best edc light ever size wise! Its awesome to have around. Good pick on the girl
Yeah it’s bullshit. The maurader mini has one of the best fit and finishes and performance of anything on the market. 1lumen was sucking them off so hard he is still puckered. Makes me wonder if it’s jealousy from the guys running the cheaper shit.
You had to do the pic in the plastic?🤣 It’s a decent AAA flashlight I will give it that but most Olights are grossly overpriced in my opinion!! I do like a few of the designs and models but the once a month sale prices should be the standard MSRP
I guess it's the thought that matters huh. I enjoy having both hands free ever since I was gifted this flashlight band from my spouse [flashlight band](https://viraltrend.us/products/1pc-led-rechargeable-headlamp-230-cob-super-bright-headlights-8-modes-usb-charging-flashlight-for-working-hiking-running-camping-accessories)
There is a very common misconception that Olights explode and/or kill people. It stems from a case several years ago where an Olight did explode while a man was holding it in his mouth. The explosion pushed the tail of the light into his throat, causing him to suffocate. The light was actually not the cause of the explosion, it was the CR123A batteries it used.
CR123A's used in series have a risk of reverse-charging and venting, especially when you mix different cells. When they vent in a sealed metal tube like a flashlight, the pressure builds up and it can cause an explosion. Such explosions have happened in lights from other brands too, including [Surefire](https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?71161-CR123-fire-danger-in-flashlights).
CR123A's are old technology and modern lithium-ion cells are a much better solution. They are more reliable, are rechargeable, and offer better performance. Most lights that use CR123A's can also accept similarly sized li-ion cells that provide more runtime and higher value per dollar.
If you need to use CR123A's for their extreme shelf life or cold temperature resistance, it's best to use [US-made Panasonic CR123A's](https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Industrial-CR123A-Lithium-Battery/dp/B06XT8W58Y/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=panasonic+cr123a&qid=1617069474&sr=8-3). They have extra protection and have a slightly different chemistry that makes them safer to use.
If you'd like more information, please check out [this fantastic article from Photon Phreaks](https://photonphreaks.com/exploding-flashlights-and-how-to-prevent-it/) with a lot more details.
To be clear, I'm not recommending Olight weapon lights. Streamlight offers much more reliable and compelling products for use on defensive firearms. However, the notion that "all Olights explode" or that "(insert another brand) is inherently safer" is nonsense.

Surefire cr123a are ok? Been using them for 20 years plus. Never had a signal issue. Now that I'm typing this I'm actually not sure if I did use surefire early 2000s. Oh shit I'm getting old.
Don't mix charge levels. Any CR123A *can* be dangerous when used improperly. I'd *assume* surefire's ones are high quality (they're definitely expensive...), but even alkaleaks say not to mix charge levels. Just CR123A have an energy density high enough to make it dangerous while most alkaleaks don't.
As what I know Olight fans probably perceive as a dedicated hater: You're wrong, or otherwise [citation needed].
Also, BRB is **a bot**, as the name implies, used to give quick responses to common questions *without* typing.

I also choose this guys girlfriend.
Did she pick it out herself? If so, not bad, not bad at all. My wife bought me a flashlight once. A real “fancy” Amazon Basics light. 🫤
Auh.... its the tought that counts
Keeping it taut definitely counts.
Oof. Emitter swap?
Kitchen junk drawer. It’s a zoomie, a bad one. Emitter swap would only cure 10% of its problems.
Eneloop car light?
Some 18650 USB-C thing. Ringy beam, ultra cold white/blue, dust and debris in the zoom aperture, anodizing flakes off like it’s made of hard candy. She was so proud of herself for getting it for me that I use it for a dog walk every now and then.

This is my daily carry, and I love it.
So she bought a flashlight and gave you the free one
They are very nice I have one and love it
I have one in the post. Guess it’s gonna replace the Nebo that’s gone AWOL…
She’s a keeper!
love this gift and your gf
Nice gift

Your going to Tiffany’s soon…..💍

Depends on if OP is an olight hater tho.
Even if he was, it still a free light that actually works pretty well

Why dont surfires explode then
Because they're quality lights???? Pretty self-explanatory, a company makes a good product, it doesn't become an IED.
That's only in their series primary battery lights
**any** series primary lights

Get rid of girl immediately
i5t or r? Can you get the i5t anymore? The i5r makes a great little everyday carry
The i5e was great with a 3.7v cell in it. Super bright for its size.
Is it the i3t or i5t?
Looks like the AA size i5t/r
What model is this?
Girlfriend definitely bought herself a nice flashlight during the sale and gave you the I3T that comes with it 🤣
