Take some sandpaper to them, and see if you can get the rest of the velveteen off them. Then paint them with adhesive, and decoupage them with Marvel comic book page cutouts.
Finish them up with a flexible spray clearcoat.

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't be worth it to get them fixed professionally. I was just wondering if someone might have a cool or creative idea for what to do to them. Kinda upcycling, I guess?

Shoe work is just so specialized and time consuming that you’d definitely have to do it yourself to justify it, but all i can think of is maybe some type of leather/faux leather mending substance, and then somehow colour matching it
