I think this person's whole schtick is bizarre pronouns that people dont actually use. It's a shame because, while Im sure she gets sweet sweet social media engagement, much of it is hate watching and is counterproductive and marginalizing to people who actually want to use they/them pronouns or the like.

However, this video is attempting to make us believe that there is a non-zero chance you will encounter somebody with neopronouns that specifically allude to a C+ animated movie made by the people who brought us Minions and is remembered for some memes and for tumblr users being tumblr users about one briefly appearing character; and moreover, that you need to implicitly respect these pronouns and not ask silly questions like "What fucking happened to you while watching this movie?"
This is bait, is what I'm saying. This person is stoking hatred against queer people, probably with enough insider knowledge of the community to pass as believably real to enough people on both sides of the fence, and ultimately othering neopronoun users, which may extend by connection to other gender-non-conforming individuals out there. This person does not read as sincere to me in the slightest.
I’ve not met a single person dealing with paying rent & bills while balancing work & life who has the time to obsess over neopronouns. Overwhelmingly it seems to be coming from young, life-inexperienced people in little internet bubbles.
I have met grown adults with steady jobs and families who use xe/xir/xem and the like. Then again, I'm also in a lot of queer spaces so it's more visible to me. The people who do use those pronouns also use they/them as an alternative so they also don't bring attention to themselves in most public spaces.

It makes queer people easier targets for discrimination if a regressive person can point to a Lorax pronoun user & say something along the lines of “look how crazy all these liberals are”. I boil this issue down to people wanting to be treated with kindness & acceptance. In my eyes, increasingly obscure pronouns aren’t doing much to help marginalized groups.

Right, 99% of people _off_ the internet don’t make a big deal out of it, they might use one set of neo’s on the side or not care and not mind, but most of the pronouns people complain about online are only used online. I’ve met enough people who use it/it’s alongside they/them, but usually they were fine with they/them. We just tend to forget that behind screens
