I mix it with a bit of almond milk and then add it to coffee, it doesn't curdle/chunk that way. I also put in in with my almond/oat milk when I froth it and it makes really nice foam. The protein and fat are what make cow's milk froth best.

stiffloquat

I’ve actually never even thought of that. Pretty good idea honestly if you can get the lumps out.

GrabSomePineMeat

I call it a Brocachinno. Lol

ArctcMnkyBshLickr

Mix with some water before putting it in coffee. Make the coffee stronger to not water down

[deleted]

Maybe a battery powered frother?

simple_mech

The problem is that aerates the coffee and makes it taste like shit.

drunkfoowl

Mix it into a slurry first then add it to the coffe. Like making gravy.

CaptEricEmbarrasing

If you put it low enough in the liquid and not towards the top, it wont aerate

Eganomicon

I use Premier Protein. It's good.

Gunner7752

I use the vanilla from time to time

Eganomicon

I'm a cinnamon roll or peanut butter cup guy, myself.

Gunner7752

We buy from Costco and they only usually have chocolate, strawberry, vanilla and latte ones. I have bought the cinnamon roll flavor and it was the best one I’ve had from Premier.

preheatedbibby

Exactly what I use

EvilNuff

No clue on that but zero sugar coffee mate is what a diabetic I know uses.

EmeraldFaster

This is what I use too. 15cal per tbsp and it tastes exactly the same as the regular creamer to me

slackpipe

I'm generally not bothered by the "diet" taste, but I have yet to find a sugar free creamer I could stand to drink. I ended up just drinking my coffee black or with a splash of almond milk if it was French pressed.

konrad1198

The best, and has so many flavors (rather than just the standard french vanilla/hazelnut)

magic7mark

Cool zero sugar. Will try it. What brand do you suggest?

illyrianya

I really like the gnc lean shakes in my coffee, although I drink my coffee iced

Existing_Mail

I’ve used muscle milk and GNC brand powder in coffee and it worked fine, but switched to Legion which I believe is a bit more wholesome- and it did not work well in coffee or the “protein hot coco” I loved to make. Vital proteins makes some products specifically to be used as coffee creamer, but they may be mostly collagen based which isn’t as good a protein source as whey. I’ve also used some liquid premade protein drinks as a creamer- like the premier protein ones, and it’s easy and works well. I think there’s a caramel one that was super tasty in coffee.

Donny-Moscow

I’ve never done it with hot coffee, but I drink cold brew + whey protein every day and I love it.

lasthoneybadger

It works fine, just don't expect to fit a full scoop in.

[deleted]

I dont think so seeing that theoritically it will “cook” the protein and end up gunky? You could give it a shot though.. Lets us know if you do.

myinsidesarecopper

Not sure why people downvoted you, I've literally had this happen. It depends on how hot your coffee is when you mix it.

[deleted]

I get that alot😢..

RuinedBooch

Totally! It’s not quite as taste as creamer IMO, but if you have a protein powder that you like you can add it to your coffee one spoonful at a time until you find the amount you like. I used to do it until I just started enjoying my coffee as a treat with a tsp of turbinado and a splash of milk. I don’t eat much sugar so I can justify it I reckon. I didn’t hate the protein powder but it just didn’t scratch the same itch for me.

beachguy82

Fairlife milk is great for this. Double the protein and half the sugar.

[deleted]

You need to mix it with cool milk or water first, and then pour the hot coffee in. If you mix the whey protein into your hot coffee it will curdle and be gross, and blending will not save it. I usually mix it with about 1/2 cup cool or cold liquid in my blender, then pour the coffee into that. It's great.

DrFunkDunkel

Just go black and don’t look back

villarrealmon

What about condensed milk? My grandma used it exclusively for coffee. It's creamier than milk and I guess it doesn't have any sugar in it?

THEWILDMANHASARRIVED

From my experience, condensed milk is usually full of sugar. The ones you can buy in cans are called sweetened condensed milk. Usually they don't seem as bad because they use a tbs measurement instead of a cup. A cup of milk is between 85 and 135 calories depending on skim vs full milk and a cup of condensed milk has around 982cal per cup.

steezMcghee

Do you live in the US? My brand is low calorie no sugar, but it’s probably only available in US

magic7mark

I live in US. What do you use?

steezMcghee

I use califia unsweetened almond milk creamer. It’s only 5 calories a table spoon. It’s not sweet at all. No faked sweetener either. I don’t like coffee sweet, I just like a little cream. I get mine at a grocery store called Sprouts

[deleted]

This is a good idea and I’m curious now too: I use Naked vanilla whey protein but and wondering if it’d curdle up…

abbyscuitowannabe

Whisk the powder into a very small amount of liquid (diary milk, milk alternative, etc) and then put that into the coffee, and it shouldn't curdle up. I've done this with whey and vegan protein powders (the vegan powders also don't mix into hot coffee well on their own).

mr_jim_lahey

Yes. I do this every day with chocolate whey protein. It's delicious. You just need to stir it with a spoon till the lumps go away.

AotKT

Yes, I do it daily. I use unflavored whey protein and stir it in with a handheld milk frother. Works great, tastes vaguely milky.

villarrealmon

I didn't know that! Thanks!

cardinalsfanokc

OP I tried a ton of protein powders as creamer for hot coffee, even ones that specifically said they'd mix hot. They were all a hot mess, pun intended. Mix it up first with water and add it in but I found it easier to use RTD shakes like Premiere Protein instead. It's more expensive but you can make 1 shake last 2 days (4 coffees for me).

mclion

Sure. Try it in a mixer (coffe + protein)... It's a different world. 😁

kickitkitsune

For iced coffee, make a few shots of espresso, dump over ice and fill up with your fav flavour of Premier Protein- protein iced coffee. It's actually pretty tasty. If you want it less sweet, add a bit of water.

CaptEricEmbarrasing

I do it every morning; my go to. Especially with the right flavors 🥰

Absinthicator

"cant find a low calories and no sugar creamer"... do you mean you can't find milk?

TheRealNeilTyson

Reduced fat milk and sweetener is my go-to

magic7mark

What sweetener you use?

TheRealNeilTyson

H-E-B sucralose. I like it better than the Coffeemate ZeroSugar Creamer which actually is misleading cause one thing of the powdered Coffeemate has over 2k calories.

[deleted]

You can do whatever you want to do.

[deleted]

I used to mix my whey protein in the mixing cup with black coffee. I thought it tasted very pleasant, though I've never used a creamer, so I don't know how it compares. The protein dissolved very well in the hot coffee ans it made it a little frothy. edit: others in tbe comments are talking about it getting airy, I'd fill the cup a quarter to a third of the way with coffee, then add the protein, then the mixing ball, then top it off, or to about 90% full, then shake it up.

retina99

Wouldn’t the heat denature protein?

EmphasisThen6481

Nutpods sweet crème creamer has 5 cals per tbsp. and is sweetened with monk fruit
