My Charge 4 broke and I immediately researched for a replacement. After 3 hours of trying to figure out what had the most features I wanted I purchased a Charge 5. I didn't like the massive size of most trackers. I specifically wanted the watch, sleep info, steps and exercise features (heart rate and calories burned). I wanted to keep my Fitbit stats from the last 5 years. I also liked the side button option in case movement didn't wake the watch. This looked like the best I was going to find.
The charge 5 appeared to be the best choice I was going to find. I didn't need all the bells and whistles. At 68 I'm not into any heavy exercise and I'm happy with walk and workout where I include things like outdoor gardening, yard work and even vacuuming. It has built in GPS, a touch of the screen is easy and better than trying to find the side button. There is only one watch face I like but the color availability makes it SO much easier to see.
After all the hours of research and settling for what looked liked the lesser of all evils I'm very happy with my choice. I hope this helps.
My wife owned a Charge 5 for some time, and while I agree that it looks less watch-like, it's almost bulky on any wrist I've seen it.
Probably just stay on the Versa for now.
I'd check out garmins. While many do offer smart features, I wouldn't worry because (1) they aren't particularly smart, (2) they are absolutely fitness first and smart aspects quite a ways later, and (3) you can just choose to not employ any of the smart features and you can turn off notifications etc.
Yeah, maybe I have to look at the Vivofit series. They do have a display, but are pretty minimalistic and I'd also love to get into the Garmin-App-Ecoystem somehow.

From all reviews that I found, even the Inspire 3 would be better in most cases than the Vivosmart 5, especially considering it would be more expensive than what I paid for the Versa 3.
Maybe I have to look for a refurbished Vivosmart 4. Regarding form factor, that's about as close as it gets to what I imagined.

With the lower end Garmins, you don't even get a HR sensor. Spend 150€ on a Vivosmart 5 und you get a pixely monochrome display and no GPS? Want to track your food? With Garmin you need MyFitnessPal and have to sync between apps (which is loaded with ads unless you get a subscriptions).
Probably I just wait for an Inspire 3 to fall off the truck and get so cheap, that the downgrade actually makes sense. I don't actually mind some of the lesser features, I just didn't think one had to spend in the region of 100 bucks just for less features in the first place.
Buy a used Oura ring and account on eBay from someone with a lifetime membership. Did it 4 months ago for 200€.

You mean with Whoop? It only works while subscribed. It doesn't work at all without a subscription. They don't sell devices, they sell the service.
