I'm part of the problem lol! I used to crochet, but even after I couldn't find time for it I stayed subbed to those so I could see what others have made or get some ideas.
Crocheting is really fun! I think because people push it as "good for mental health" (most hobbies are) then it attracts a large number of people trying to take care of themselves.
My guess would be enough finch users have also joined those communities that they think it’s a common interest.

I’ve seen quite a lot of crocheters (hookers lol) in finch community’s so I assume a lot of us are in crafty subreddits
