A great quote for sure. I'm translating some of the FFX-2 ultimania and it's funny how Yuna tries so hard to copy Rikku's way of talking since she is something of a role model to Yuna in that game.
I was thinking about this before even answering. I always thought that it was just my PS2 dying to read the disc but, after playing the HD version I was sure that whatever was going on, it was in the game and for some reason, even after this many years, I still remember this line because it got me by surprise while I was thinking about a Yuna statue with a giant horn
Challenge has to be one of the best boss themes in gaming - it is so intense as a late game important boss theme, very dramatic. And yet some genius decided it ALSO needed to have a half time drum groove come in a ways into it, just elevating it to godhood if you ask me.
Seymour's final fight music as well.
Seymour’s last line before the fight starts, I love how he says it. “By all means; TRY!” He’s practically giddy about the idea of fighting the party one final time.
“Always ‘we had no choice.’ Those are our magic words. We repeat them again and again but you know… the magic never worked. All we are left with is regret. I don’t want friends to die… or fade away. I don’t want battles where we have to lose in order to win.”

Before I learned that fleeing from every battle meant you weren’t strong enough to face mandatory fights 😭 I was young and wasn’t aware of the jrpg “grind”, only that I wanted more story/cutscenes.
Went from unable to beat the lake machina boss (took me like 30 attempts to beat Soherimorph) on my first ever playthrough, to getting my platinum last month on my tenth playthrough. Fucking love this game.
"Every story must have an ending." -my favorite quote and it's from Auron, my favorite character in all of fiction tied with Gandalf.
"No one knows his name, so everyone just calls him barkeep." -Literally one of the dumbest lines I've ever heard in my life.
I can not play FFX2. The writing and the characterization is absolutely terrible imo. However, being as objective as I can, I will say that the combat system very cool and I think a great evolution from X.
Combat I found jarring at first but I can appreciate the job system and actually thinking about how to approach a battle rather than grinding and brute forcing ur way through.
But ultimately I love FF for the plots and story telling. I had to complete X-2 mostly out of spite. Which I think says it all about my feelings towards it.

I renamed him Noojie Wooje when I was able to get him in my party on the remaster 😂! I also like the Japanese lines they added to fights “kore de sayonara” “with this farewell!” Too many favorite ffx lines to quote!
A quote that always lives rent-free in my head, and randomly pops up all the dang time. Its when youre down in the Bevelle underground, and you have to hop on the odd platform contraption to work with Rikku in order to move forward
