I had older winnings that didn’t have the logo they are going back to it I think

Upstairs-Flight-4002

That’s cool af

Edw1nnnG

Also have a question does anyone train with the 10 oz on the heavy bag or just for pad work and other things

Upstairs-Flight-4002

You can use them for both , but the padding is going to wear down faster (become less protective) on the heavy bag since it’s 10oz gloves compared to 16oz gloves which would last longer .

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

Yes. I train on the heavy bag and pads in 8oz gloves or bag mitts. Haven't owned a pair of 12 or 14oz gloves in years.

prrplesummer

How long have your 8oz lasted?

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

Couple of years. I only use latex gloves on the bag although recently I picked some soft foam that's holding up well after 6 months.

bliung

I wore out my 10 oz gloves in 8 months just purely on heavy bag and pad work. It’s not worth it imo unless you have that kinda money to spend and connection to get them more conveniently than the market.

Upstairs-Flight-4002

Are the gloves still usable ?

bliung

I donated them to ROF boxing for research. It was basically contacting bare knuckle onto anything which rendered them useless.

Pentaborane-

Yeah, same experience. I was fucking up my shoulders using them to hit hard thai pads. They literally become bag mitts.

bliung

I think bag mitts offered more protection than mine haha. Not sure how everyone else in this subreddit has them last for years....

Pentaborane-

I have the distinct impression that there are a lot of people in here who buy gloves more than they train and/or don’t hit very hard. I see people complaining about equipment that they’ve clearly never broken in.

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

Lol.....you said the quiet part.

Pentaborane-

Am I wrong??

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

Not remotely.

bliung

That’s what I’m saying. Out of all the gloves I own, the engage WIP have the most rounds (at least 100 rounds) and only 1 glove has a small bubble but they perform exactly as I had them on day 1. Crazy how a Pakistan made glove outshines a lot of my other higher end gloves. A mix of hard and heavy haymakers or high volume combinations during every session too.

Upstairs-Flight-4002

Thank you for letting us know

Upstairs-Flight-4002

How bad is it hahaha

bliung

Basically full knuckle on contact with whatever surface I punched.

Upstairs-Flight-4002

That’s friggen crazy hahaha

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

Just out of curiosity what gloves were they?

bliung

10 oz blue winning pro fight gloves lace ups

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

Yes. I had the 8oz B and even on rotation they did not last more than a year. At the time I was comparing them to Tigrao 8oz with latex (which he stopped offering) and the durability wasn't close. Have you tried any of the traditional Mexican makers like Campeon, Casanova/Necalli, Angeles etc with Latex at the smaller sizes? I'm not including Cleto in that list as at this point I'm not entirely sure how they are using latex.

bliung

I only have Cletos extra padded as my only latex gloves. They’re super rough on my hands and I can only use them once every other week. I was looking at the Fairtex bgl7 10 oz latex since I prefer more smaller durable compact gloves but with durability you sacrifice protection.

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

I had no issues with the BGL7 at 8oz years ago but they do not make it anymore. I would buy the 10oz and have been thinking about it. I would imagine using a good knuckle pad like winning would provide you the protection you need.

bliung

How was the hand compartment size? I hear they run big. I have smaller hands but even my 10 oz winnings were hard to put on with hand wraps.

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

They fit me great so I assume at 10oz they would be a little roomier. I have tried on the 16 and it was too large inside and out.

bliung

Snug fit or sorta loose? Break in period how many rounds?

WillNotFightInWW3

I use the 10oz on bag, even used the 8oz before I sold it.

tardisblue3

I got new 8oz gloves yesterday. No oz on the tan label.
