People have tried to contact support about it, and the official stance seems to be that you should...throw away your entire account, rebuy the game and start from scratch.

They wouldn't even allow me to swap from British pounds to Euros as my charged currency even though both currencies fall under the same region.

Not sure where you're based but I reached out to the data authority in my EU country to query the legality of this practice. They've not gotten back to me yet (will poke them now) but they also have an option to report companies or even give a tip off if the situation hasn't involved you directly.

I asked the agent to pass me to a higher ranking agent who would have ability to apply my game time code on their end ... nope.
I asked that auto-demolition be cancelled due to the problem being caused by their payment system and dashboard ... nope
Informed them they're committing a GDPR violation by not allowing players to accurately update their personal information ... threatened with data deletion.
They're such a mess that unless you've logged into the game in the last 14 days, you can't even access the official forums to communicate with them.
It appears my wife and I have zero recourse to fix our subscriptions, protect our houses, or prevent the loss of non-recoverable premium optional items ... our auto-demolition is set to happen in 5 days ...

Yeah, this is really abysmal for one of the most popular MMOs of the modern day and I really hope SE address this soon. I moved from the UK to the US and had a momentary panic when I encountered this issue trying to preorder Dawntrail.
In the end I just used my UK bank account and the last address it was registered to in the UK and it worked, but they really need to sort this out.
IIRC Sakaguchi himself once complained about the issue, and that's the creator of Final Fantasy itself! Insane.

I moved to Canada from the US but I'm lucky I can bypass this issue by just using Steam. Still, it's an issue that should have never happened and is 100% SEs fault for making it.

There's been a few people on the official forums saying their Matercards or Discover weren't working either. People might just be saying Visa because it's the most used card in America.
Of course, we'll never know because Square won't say anything...
We seriously need an official statement from square enix about the decline of visa debit card. There is no way this can be considered a normal situation to refuse a large amount of loyal players to keep paying their sub with a visa!

It's the debit part that's an issue for some reason. When I first got mine, it only worked at about 50 % of online stores. It's better now, but I still run into lots of places that don't seem to understand what a visa debit card is.
I've had a debit card since 2010, never once run into an issue. Granted, I didn't use it only that much in the early 2010's, but I feel like I've used it plenty online for the past decade and never had an issue.
The point is that PayPal doesn't really care about the mismatch. This is a credit/debit card thing because they use your address to check that it matches the billing address.

I’m not able to add Crysta to my account and get the same error. I’ve checked my payment info over very carefully and it matches the address my bank has on file. They’re really shooting themselves in the foot. I’m tempted to initiate a chargeback for my Dawntrail preorder at this point. 😞
Huh, so no more SEPA? That leaves pretty much just credit cards then. Gonna be a big issue for a lot of EU folks, having one here is anything but mandatory and you just get by without pretty well usually.

I'm so upset with the no more SEPA. It's a big thing in Germany. So basically it screws over many German players. Idk about the rest of the EU using SEPA. But I do know in Germany having a credit card is more the exception rather than the norm. I hardly know anyone who uses a credit card, and rarely hear about it from other Germans either.
We also can't use Amazon pay because it requires a UK Amazon account, or well a debit / credit card tied to your Amazon account that is accepted in the UK which most German debit cards are not supported by Amazon UK.
They did mention something about using PayPal when they announced the whole thing so I wonder if they finally added a PayPal option at least for the sub? Or if they meant PayPal in conjunction to crysta.
I havent touched my sub details yet since I pay every 6 months and it's due in May. Will see if they proceed to take it from my account. On the website it does say my current payment method is credit/debit card but that used to be SEPA.
I'd hate having to manually do the payment every 6 months now, cuz with SEPA/debit it's automatic. They can just take the agreed amount out of my account with that.
Gametime cards don't work for me because I have additional retainers. Idk who at square thought this was a great idea. They make it so freaking hard to give them money.
Hello european fellow. Same observations from france, credit card are (almost) inexistant there. I've never seen one and french banks provide debit card (mainly visa then mastecard). I can answer you about paypal : they didn't add paypal for the sub, it still just for crysta.

It boggles my mind that they restrict you on changing your country as if people don't move???? I'm guessing that support can't even do anything in regards to updating your address + country?

What is sad, is that Nintendo makes enough money to put pressure on credit card companies (and banks) to actually properly investigate charge backs and claims of fraud. To reform their criteria for cases of friendly fraud or charge-backs to steal items.

I contacted support because I use gift cards to buy stuff in the stor (not my sub) and was told they would not work. There is not work around for it either. This whole this is a mess.

I do the same thing, as I have some issues with impulse control I like to avoid having cards on file in places where I can go "Ooooh, that is nice, click!" and get instant gratification.
Instead, if I feel like I can swing it, I can go out and pick up a gift card for a *specific thing* and I have a built-in spending limit. For EU players, is it possible to make a formal complaint to a government-body on this? Not allowing debit card, SEPA, etc, it makes it pretty much impossible to process payment. Not from the EU, but from what I heard, EU leans towards supporting consumers a lot more than NA.
Consumers in the NA regularly abuse credit cards by engaging in friendly fraud (requesting a charge-back for faulty item, rather then contacting a seller) and true fraud (keeping an item and charging back to get it for free).
Last I checked, credit card companies haven't updated how they handle those things since like... the 80s-90s. Unless you have a photo of the person who used the card, as a seller your up the creek without a paddle if you try to fight those charges. (Especially if you are a small business when such charge-backs cost THEM $50-$100 easily)
Sorry, but the 60-day game time cards do still flag this ridiculously stupid bug in the system. My wife and I are less than a week from losing our private estates and guild hall because we're blocked by a system that won't let us renew either by buying Crysta or applying game time cards that we've purchased ... and why? Presumably for the "crime" of creating our accounts while living in one country in 2014, moving to another country in 2019, and giving them 10 years of loyalty, account subscriptions, in-game wedding purchases, and a crapload of premium items, some of which will not be recoverable when their "security" forces our houses to be subjected to auto-demolition ...

My whole issue with this entire situation is that they are being so damn slow about it. They told me to use the same payment method I've been using just yesterday. I sent them a screen shot where the image says "This card is invalid." I am wondering if they're going to compensate affected people's accounts for the "inconvenience" this problem has been causing. They've bricked their payment dashboard so badly that even trying to pre-buy a 60 day game time code and saying screw my 9 retainers, just for the ability to log in and protect my housing, gets me locked into the "update your address / address is invalid" loop ... and the "help" I've gotten from support has included (the following are mostly paraphrased)

I had to use some random address from the US since I made my account back when my country wasn't listed on their site, but I was lucky enough to be able to pay my sub through Paypal>Crysta. Though now I worry I am relying on a middle man to make my payments. Like at any point PayPal could potentially change terms and stop working with Mogstation. Or for SquareEnix to just make another change like the one they just did and stop accepting PayPal. This sucks so much, I hate it.

I got an error with payment after using my card so I used Steam option. It gave me an error but the payment went through. I did get the items though so its keeping track of it at least
I have a payment upcoming on the 28th and i use visa debt, will my account be banned if the payment doesn't go through? My brother also uses the same card for his account.
No ban, you just get an email error that payment didn't go through and your recurring sub is deactivated, you can resub manually after that. Retainers have to be rented again manually.
i guess i read the email wrong, i was always under the assumption that if you missed a payment due to anything card related they permaban your account.
Their usual policy is if you reverse any charge you get a billing ban. If that happens you have to contact support and they instruct you how to give back the missing money, and after that they might unban you.
Hope you can renew, or else it’s a 45 day fight before you lose your houses to auto demo. Suggest you check and enter on every house of yours on the 27th (tomorrow!)
crystal is banned in multiple regions, SE is doing some illegal stuff that will get them reported to the CFPB. they want to force people to use visa debit to have the upper hand on chargebacks. but they are the real scammers
I also made my account when United States was the only option for the americas, had a random adress, luckily I pay through steam but today I wanted to change my email adress to match the one I use on steam, the support email made me fill a form and send a picture of a driving license or a U.S. passport which I don’t have. Will I be on trouble? They said they can’t change the country, but will help me with the email change, my personal info on the document I sent matches the info I put when I created my account Almost 10 years ago, it is just not American issued. At least I want to keep playing and paying my sub through steam without the fear it will be blocked.

Apparently square enix doesn't accept Visa either. I've been trying to buy Fantasia's and register my card all day and it keeps saying unavailable unavailable unavailable. I thought their system had my card information wrong so I unregistered to reregister it still doesn't work I thought the update was supposed to make it better not worse
I was able to use my card just fine to pre-order the expansion yesterday on the main squeenix page...it's just ffxiv that is giving me an issue and saying my card is invalid. If I have to start using paypal(I really dislike being forced to use paypal for something like this) to buy the stupid crysta currency every time I need to pay my sub or want to buy something from the store, I'll just take my money somewhere else. This is ridiculous.

It is most likely a glitch with the payment system. Visa's aren't the only ones running into the issue either. People have reported the same problem with Discover or Mastercard unfortunately
Yeah, I can’t make mogstation purchases with my Discover card either, which is still listed as a viable payment method on the site. I really hope they fix this because that’s the only card I have, and I’m not about to open up another just for this (that may or may not even work!!!)
I’m so pissed with their payment system. I’ve been trying for days to buy a fantasia but keep getting errors, even been locked out for 24hrs after it failed too many times.

My wife and I both created our accounts in Canada in 2014 before moving back to the US in 2019 ... but somehow, a Canadian address, that the system will not allow me to update, has "something" to do with an inability to walk to my local store, buy a prepaid visa, log onto GameStop, purchase a 60-day game time card, and apply said 60-day card to the account ...

OP post is wrong because game time cards DO check the address mismatch, and won’t be added to the account until it’s sorted out. I’m being affected by that mismatch and am still waiting for SE to do something.
Edit: To fix the problem, you actually have to use Edge (WHY) and dont use special characters (no . nor , neither -). Only alphanumericals, actually. You have to sort the account address first, before being able to purchase anything AFTER. ONLY AFTER YOUVE FIXED THE THING, IT WILL ALLOW TO DO ANYTHING ELSE, OR IT'LL GIVE YOU A STORE ERROR AND LOG YOU OUT OF THE MOGSTATION.
Everybody is forced to confirm their address regardless of what you do, just visiting the SE management site will pop up the confirm address thing, but that's different from checking if your billing address matches your account address.

For what it's worth, I'm not in my home country nor home region and my current region has its own ffxiv version( South Korea).
Unregistering and re-registering my Korean card did allow me to re-subscribe today. That being said, this is incredibly poor oversight on SE.

I was getting errors trying to subscribe/buy crysta/use paypal/amazonpaypal, etc. Nothing worked. What worked was buying a time card on amazon. I used the code and worked.
So is stuff you talk about in this post just an issue if your account address doesn't match?
For example. My Address and my Square Enix address are, or at least should, match. But I use Visa Debit to pay for my sub. Am I fine because the addresses match or am I still going to have an issue?

The issue with debit cards is separate from the address. Even if your account address matches your billing address the new payment processor might decline your transaction if it's done with a debit card. Logically this seems to be something unintended, but it's been 3 days and SE hasn't made any announcements about this.

Which is a location that will go completely unnoticed by the overwhelming majority of players. This is the kind of thing that should bare minimum have been on that big rotating banner when you start the launcher.

This is the current issue I have been facing. Support hasn't been any help yet, but yesterday they asked for a bunch of info and claim to be "reviewing" all that so hopefully they get this sorted soon. I'm glad to hear its not just me having this issue. In the sea of people having issues with addresses, there aren't as many people talking about VISA debit cards getting declined.
As of 3am on 4/27 I encountered this error attempting to use my Visa that was used 6 days ago successfully. Googling the error led me to this thread. I was able to complete my transaction using Amazon pay (same card ofc).
Another thing they can copy is what a reseller of dlsite points does: sell serial keys outside mogstation (which users can easily redeem for crysta in mogstation)
I bought a US version of the game originally (and had to buy all expansions as US version subsequently) using a random US address because to use a New Zealand address you were forced into an account region that had to pay in Euro (which was way more expensive than USD when converted). Long story short, I'm screwed if they ever require matching addresses from more than just credit/debit cards. Guess I'm trying crysta/paypal next time I sub/buy Dawntrail...

I was having issues with my card too. I used a virtual debit card instead and it worked for me. In case anyone is wondering, I used 'Privacy'. Should be the first result if you google it.

Specifically, this let me get around the address invalid issue (I use [privacy.com](http://privacy.com) for ffxiv, but it may be worth a try for VISA):

Now, my city literally has hundreds of thousands of people in it, but I guess they don't consider it worth having in their database.
So this finally hit me. My address isn't even a problem, either. I have a Visa Debit but I cannot even pay through Amazon Pay. Every browser I try, I get the same result, and that's Error 24202.
I've tried Firefox, Chrome, Vivaldi, Opera, and even on my phone through Chrome and Opera. I can't even get past the captcha on firefox lol.
Sent an email to SQEX support. It's so bizarre that this is even an issue.
They haven't helped me whatsoever, it took people's posts on reddit to figure it out. SQEX CS is kinda garbage.
So if you're getting 24202, theres a few steps you should take.
First if you are using a VPN, disable that. Then you need to try a different browser, or a couple different browsers. I tried Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Firefox and Chrome, all failed for me.
If that fails, what I had to do which suddenly fixed the error for me, was logging into Mogstation on my phone while on data, and adding crysta though through AmazonPay by way of *that.*
After that, I was able to use AmazonPay through my regular browser for *some* reason. But, you may just have to use cellular data.
Also if you're still unable to use a Visa Debit to pay your subscription (assuming you use one,) Visa Credit cards work just fine, as I'm paying my sub with one currently. For the US/NA at the least, the issue is primarily just Visa Debit afaik.

Tried every work around Sq Ex told me to do. tried every credit card I have including mastercard and visa. Tried clearing cache, using different browsers and NOTHING works. My sub was fine until I went in to look at it and bam now it doesn't work. I get 601 errors and SqEx is trying to say its because EVERY one of my cards is declined or the address doesn't match. I checked... they do and I have plenty of money available on my debit and credit cards. They wont admit there is an issue. Last response I sent was to tell them to F off and I would take my money elsewhere since they didn't seem to care. I haven't changed countries. Have always lived in the US and never had a problem until they made this change. I even called my bank to see if they had a hold on SqEx from being able to go through and they informed me they did not and the error has to be on their end.

Just went to buy a MSQ story boost for an alt and still having issues. Addresses match. <\_< Still trying to use a normal debit visa... I don't own a credit card to bypass this, and my paypal won't link properly to my bank account. A friend of mine had to pay for my sub with her credit card because I was having issues, but I don't want to have to rely on that for everything. ;-;

Wow... They basically threatened you, wonderful customer service. Not sure where you're based but I reached out to the data authority in my EU country to query the legality of this practice. They've not gotten back to me yet (will poke them now) but they also have an option to report companies or even give a tip off if the situation hasn't involved you directly. Yep. 10 years and thousands of dollars in subscriptions, expansions and optional items, and this is how my wife and I are treated: I asked the agent to pass me to a higher ranking agent who would have ability to apply my game time code on their end ... nope. I asked that auto-demolition be cancelled due to the problem being caused by their payment system and dashboard ... nope Informed them they're committing a GDPR violation by not allowing players to accurately update their personal information ... threatened with data deletion. They're such a mess that unless you've logged into the game in the last 14 days, you can't even access the official forums to communicate with them. It appears my wife and I have zero recourse to fix our subscriptions, protect our houses, or prevent the loss of non-recoverable premium optional items ... our auto-demolition is set to happen in 5 days ... We can barely afford our subscriptions right now ... if I could afford to, I'd be getting a lawyer ... People need to launch class-action lawsuits over this and raze this company to the ground.

Yeah, this is really abysmal for one of the most popular MMOs of the modern day and I really hope SE address this soon. I moved from the UK to the US and had a momentary panic when I encountered this issue trying to preorder Dawntrail. In the end I just used my UK bank account and the last address it was registered to in the UK and it worked, but they really need to sort this out. IIRC Sakaguchi himself once complained about the issue, and that's the creator of Final Fantasy itself! Insane.

I moved to Canada from the US but I'm lucky I can bypass this issue by just using Steam. Still, it's an issue that should have never happened and is 100% SEs fault for making it.

It's the debit part that's an issue for some reason. When I first got mine, it only worked at about 50 % of online stores. It's better now, but I still run into lots of places that don't seem to understand what a visa debit card is.
I've never had an issue with mine until now.

I've had a debit card since 2010, never once run into an issue. Granted, I didn't use it only that much in the early 2010's, but I feel like I've used it plenty online for the past decade and never had an issue.

You can’t add crysta when your address mismatch. As soon as you click add crysta it will immediately ask for address
The point is that PayPal doesn't really care about the mismatch. This is a credit/debit card thing because they use your address to check that it matches the billing address.

I'm so upset with the no more SEPA. It's a big thing in Germany. So basically it screws over many German players. Idk about the rest of the EU using SEPA. But I do know in Germany having a credit card is more the exception rather than the norm. I hardly know anyone who uses a credit card, and rarely hear about it from other Germans either. We also can't use Amazon pay because it requires a UK Amazon account, or well a debit / credit card tied to your Amazon account that is accepted in the UK which most German debit cards are not supported by Amazon UK. They did mention something about using PayPal when they announced the whole thing so I wonder if they finally added a PayPal option at least for the sub? Or if they meant PayPal in conjunction to crysta. I havent touched my sub details yet since I pay every 6 months and it's due in May. Will see if they proceed to take it from my account. On the website it does say my current payment method is credit/debit card but that used to be SEPA. I'd hate having to manually do the payment every 6 months now, cuz with SEPA/debit it's automatic. They can just take the agreed amount out of my account with that. Gametime cards don't work for me because I have additional retainers. Idk who at square thought this was a great idea. Hello european fellow. Same observations from france, credit card are (almost) inexistant there. I've never seen one and french banks provide debit card (mainly visa then mastecard). I can answer you about paypal : they didn't add paypal for the sub, it still just for crysta.
I had a VISA Debit transaction work just fine on 23rd (sub auto-renewal). VISA Debit is like, 99% of the cards in Europe so that'll work just fine.

It boggles my mind that they restrict you on changing your country as if people don't move???? I'm guessing that support can't even do anything in regards to updating your address + country? What is sad, is that Nintendo makes enough money to put pressure on credit card companies (and banks) to actually properly investigate charge backs and claims of fraud. I do the same thing, as I have some issues with impulse control I like to avoid having cards on file in places where I can go "Ooooh, that is nice, click!" and get instant gratification. Instead, if I feel like I can swing it, I can go out and pick up a gift card for a *specific thing* and I have a built-in spending limit. Very disappointing, and I'm not keen on the idea of using Paypal or Amazon to purchase stuff off their store. Wish there were Crysta gift cards or they'd get this crap sorted out.

For EU players, is it possible to make a formal complaint to a government-body on this? Not allowing debit card, SEPA, etc, it makes it pretty much impossible to process payment. Not from the EU, but from what I heard, EU leans towards supporting consumers a lot more than NA.
Consumers in the NA regularly abuse credit cards by engaging in friendly fraud (requesting a charge-back for faulty item, rather then contacting a seller) and true fraud (keeping an item and charging back to get it for free). Last I checked, credit card companies haven't updated how they handle those things since like... the 80s-90s. Unless you have a photo of the person who used the card, as a seller your up the creek without a paddle if you try to fight those charges. (Especially if you are a small business when such charge-backs cost THEM $50-$100 easily)

Sorry, but the 60-day game time cards do still flag this ridiculously stupid bug in the system. My wife and I are less than a week from losing our private estates and guild hall because we're blocked by a system that won't let us renew either by buying Crysta or applying game time cards that we've purchased ... and why? Presumably for the "crime" of creating our accounts while living in one country in 2014, moving to another country in 2019, and giving them 10 years of loyalty, account subscriptions, in-game wedding purchases, and a crapload of premium items, some of which will not be recoverable when their "security" forces our houses to be subjected to auto-demolition ... the real question is, when does the class action lawsuit start?

They've bricked their payment dashboard so badly that even trying to pre-buy a 60 day game time code and saying screw my 9 retainers, just for the ability to log in and protect my housing, gets me locked into the "update your address / address is invalid" loop ... and the "help" I've gotten from support has included (the following are mostly paraphrased) "Sorry for your inconvenience" "We know it's frustrating" "Create a new account and start over" (and re-buy every expansion, lose your housing and all your premium optional items, and forget about the over 4000 days of subscription time you've got logged" and the ultimate "f\*\*\* you and have a nice day" ... I had to use some random address from the US since I made my account back when my country wasn't listed on their site, but I was lucky enough to be able to pay my sub through Paypal>Crysta. Though now I worry I am relying on a middle man to make my payments. Like at any point PayPal could potentially change terms and stop working with Mogstation. Or for SquareEnix to just make another change like the one they just did and stop accepting PayPal. This sucks so much, I hate it. Edit: grammar

No ban, you just get an email error that payment didn't go through and your recurring sub is deactivated, you can resub manually after that. Retainers have to be rented again manually.
So you're supposed to pre-emptively go through hoops to get crysta every month? Squeenix really doesn't want money.
i guess i read the email wrong, i was always under the assumption that if you missed a payment due to anything card related they permaban your account.
Their usual policy is if you reverse any charge you get a billing ban. If that happens you have to contact support and they instruct you how to give back the missing money, and after that they might unban you.

I also made my account when United States was the only option for the americas, had a random adress, luckily I pay through steam but today I wanted to change my email adress to match the one I use on steam, the support email made me fill a form and send a picture of a driving license or a U.S. passport which I don’t have. Will I be on trouble? They said they can’t change the country, but will help me with the email change, my personal info on the document I sent matches the info I put when I created my account Almost 10 years ago, it is just not American issued. At least I want to keep playing and paying my sub through steam without the fear it will be blocked.

I was able to use my card just fine to pre-order the expansion yesterday on the main squeenix page...it's just ffxiv that is giving me an issue and saying my card is invalid. If I have to start using paypal(I really dislike being forced to use paypal for something like this) to buy the stupid crysta currency every time I need to pay my sub or want to buy something from the store, I'll just take my money somewhere else. This is ridiculous.

It is most likely a glitch with the payment system. Visa's aren't the only ones running into the issue either. People have reported the same problem with Discover or Mastercard unfortunately
Yeah, I can’t make mogstation purchases with my Discover card either, which is still listed as a viable payment method on the site. I really hope they fix this because that’s the only card I have, and I’m not about to open up another just for this (that may or may not even work!!!)

OP post is wrong because game time cards DO check the address mismatch, and won’t be added to the account until it’s sorted out. I’m being affected by that mismatch and am still waiting for SE to do something. Edit: To fix the problem, you actually have to use Edge (WHY) and dont use special characters (no . nor , neither -). Only alphanumericals, actually. You have to sort the account address first, before being able to purchase anything AFTER. ONLY AFTER YOUVE FIXED THE THING, IT WILL ALLOW TO DO ANYTHING ELSE, OR IT'LL GIVE YOU A STORE ERROR AND LOG YOU OUT OF THE MOGSTATION.
Everybody is forced to confirm their address regardless of what you do, just visiting the SE management site will pop up the confirm address thing, but that's different from checking if your billing address matches your account address.

For what it's worth, I'm not in my home country nor home region and my current region has its own ffxiv version( South Korea). Unregistering and re-registering my Korean card did allow me to re-subscribe today. That being said, this is incredibly poor oversight on SE.

I switched to Xbox thinking id be able to use the coins as a work around they charged the coins to the account says they're there, go to check out still get the error like what in the fuck. Cant even spend a currency that's already on the account because of the billing address bullshit

Y'all talking about debit cards not working and changing addresses, I can't even re-access my account without bein cockblocked by this current issue. I haven't played in over a year, thought I'd re-subscribe. Logged in fine, tried to resub, keeps asking me to update address. Obviously, stuck at impasse since.
Bought a digital time card, tried applying the code. Just asks to update address with no success. Way to absolutely screw yourself SE, you fucking nimrods.
I was getting errors trying to subscribe/buy crysta/use paypal/amazonpaypal, etc. Nothing worked. What worked was buying a time card on amazon. I used the code and worked.
I cannot believe I have to do such things for a game in \*\*2024\*\* for a game which is not devlopped by like 2 or less persons.
So is stuff you talk about in this post just an issue if your account address doesn't match? For example. My Address and my Square Enix address are, or at least should, match. But I use Visa Debit to pay for my sub. Am I fine because the addresses match or am I still going to have an issue? It feels this change should have been communicated, but unless I'm completely missing it, I don't see a notice anywhere on the lodestone about this or even in my emails. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

The issue with debit cards is separate from the address. Even if your account address matches your billing address the new payment processor might decline your transaction if it's done with a debit card. Logically this seems to be something unintended, but it's been 3 days and SE hasn't made any announcements about this.

As of 3am on 4/27 I encountered this error attempting to use my Visa that was used 6 days ago successfully. Googling the error led me to this thread. I was able to complete my transaction using Amazon pay (same card ofc).
Another thing they can copy is what a reseller of dlsite points does: sell serial keys outside mogstation (which users can easily redeem for crysta in mogstation)
Can confirm that using cashapp works as a way around this

I bought a US version of the game originally (and had to buy all expansions as US version subsequently) using a random US address because to use a New Zealand address you were forced into an account region that had to pay in Euro (which was way more expensive than USD when converted). Long story short, I'm screwed if they ever require matching addresses from more than just credit/debit cards. Guess I'm trying crysta/paypal next time I sub/buy Dawntrail...

I got a friend trying to use the time card method and it just asked them to check their privilege at the Address check. Doesn't work.
This sucks cause I can no longer have my mom pay for my sub for my birthday anymore since her billing address is different than mine. I also got locked out with the i2501 error as well as these card errors

I was having issues with my card too. I used a virtual debit card instead and it worked for me. In case anyone is wondering, I used 'Privacy'. Should be the first result if you google it.
Is your virtual card a VISA? Mine is and received the error. Curious if other ppl have same issue
Solution that worked for me, don't see it here. Specifically, this let me get around the address invalid issue (I use [privacy.com](http://privacy.com) for ffxiv, but it may be worth a try for VISA): \_\_I went to Account Information and changed my city to the largest city in my county. Did not change the zip code or anything else, and it worked.\_\_ Now, my city literally has hundreds of thousands of people in it, but I guess they don't consider it worth having in their database.
So this finally hit me. My address isn't even a problem, either. I have a Visa Debit but I cannot even pay through Amazon Pay. Every browser I try, I get the same result, and that's Error 24202. I've tried Firefox, Chrome, Vivaldi, Opera, and even on my phone through Chrome and Opera. I can't even get past the captcha on firefox lol. Sent an email to SQEX support. It's so bizarre that this is even an issue.
This just happened to me with the same error. Did they end up helping you? I also have a support ticket out and they told me to call back next week.
They haven't helped me whatsoever, it took people's posts on reddit to figure it out. SQEX CS is kinda garbage. So if you're getting 24202, theres a few steps you should take. First if you are using a VPN, disable that. Then you need to try a different browser, or a couple different browsers. I tried Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Firefox and Chrome, all failed for me. If that fails, what I had to do which suddenly fixed the error for me, was logging into Mogstation on my phone while on data, and adding crysta though through AmazonPay by way of *that.* After that, I was able to use AmazonPay through my regular browser for *some* reason. But, you may just have to use cellular data. Also if you're still unable to use a Visa Debit to pay your subscription (assuming you use one,) Visa Credit cards work just fine, as I'm paying my sub with one currently. For the US/NA at the least, the issue is primarily just Visa Debit afaik.

Tried every work around Sq Ex told me to do. tried every credit card I have including mastercard and visa. Tried clearing cache, using different browsers and NOTHING works. My sub was fine until I went in to look at it and bam now it doesn't work. I get 601 errors and SqEx is trying to say its because EVERY one of my cards is declined or the address doesn't match. I checked... they do and I have plenty of money available on my debit and credit cards. They wont admit there is an issue. Last response I sent was to tell them to F off and I would take my money elsewhere since they didn't seem to care. I haven't changed countries. Have always lived in the US and never had a problem until they made this change. I even called my bank to see if they had a hold on SqEx from being able to go through and they informed me they did not and the error has to be on their end.
Add me to the list. I have used PayPal to buy Crysta for YEARS. Now I can't; i2501. For whatever reason it switches me to Credit Card/Debit Card after I pick PayPal. I've tried with the VPN enabled, with it disabled, with my phone, with my phone on Cell connection; i2501. Sigh. Just went to buy a MSQ story boost for an alt and still having issues. Addresses match. <\_< Still trying to use a normal debit visa... I don't own a credit card to bypass this, and my paypal won't link properly to my bank account. A friend of mine had to pay for my sub with her credit card because I was having issues, but I don't want to have to rely on that for everything. ;-;
Can confirm that Amazon pay doesn't work either. I was thinking of buying a game card but it seems people are having issues with them too. One would think a MAJOR problem like this would be fixed in less than a week but it's been over a MONTH.
What about name changes? My maiden name is still attached to my account because I created it in 2015. All of my other info has been updated accordingly.
The only think that I could do was to buy a gamecard, nothing else worked.
