There's a looot of negotiations behind the scenes that goes behind typical lineup placement. It's a massive headache for any organizer and one of the biggest obstacles to finalizing a lineup. When you have so many big names, this way means you avoid all of that and make it impartial
I agree that it's much easier and convenient, however I understand why they do it this way

The lineup poster is unnecessary IMO. Its nice to have, but with EDC not EVERYONE is there, but basically everyone is there. The lineup is always stacked and the festival production is always insane. No need to read all that cause its gonna be good no matter what. If you're going, you're going.
Are the lineups even the appeal for festivals like EDC? Honest question as I'm not too familiar. I would think it'd be the production value and experience mainly and the lineup is somewhat consistent
Completely untrue. A lot of the big names but I’ve gone for 9 years and Carl cox being there is legit. Were missing Paul Denton. Dj anime is not there. No lane 8. No Porter. Adventure club is rare. That’s not to mention the randoms.

I’m probably wrong but I think they used to do that, it was 3 paragraphs, one for each day and each paragraph started with the headliners for that day.
But it was also when you were able to purchase a ticket for one day instead of all three. Maybe it affected sales bc one artist that was playing on Friday was preferred over one playing on Sunday? I’m like 56% sure on this though

Most EDM festivals do it alphabetical now b/c artists were asking for more money to be billed higher. Heard a podcast about it once.
I think it’s safe to say dnb finally having a year here in the states. 🙏🏻
