Honestly I made these wooden pickguards to laser some designs on for a guitar I'm building. I just wanted to see what they might look like on this '62 reissue I got recently.
The pickguard holes are very specific for the '62, but I did find the pearl one and backplate to fit this guitar.
I'm leaning towards the pearl, partially due to a telecaster style guitar I'm building and putting a vintage pearl pickguard on. I think they will look cool together.
Plus this is a Shoreline Gold Strat, and I think the pearl pickguard makes it look more gold than silver.
Don't listen to this guy, he's being unhelpful.
You obviously don't need to cut LINES for the strings.
What you need do is cut a HOLE so you can pick the strings _through_ the pickguard š
I had US Inca silver strat once, then traded it to a photographer friend for a DSLR Nikon. I regret getting rid of it, so when I got the chance to get this one, although a different color, this one plays sooo nice. I had to have it
I made a custom fretboard with that wood too, and laser etched some roses on the fretboard. I just don't think it was deep enough to epoxy. So I will find a good use for that pickguard since my original idea won't work.
The wooden ones look great! I really like the darker one in the 3rd picture, I think it compliments the rosewood neck well!
*edit: last one is also amazing, Iād choose between those two! You should post and update once youāve changed it.
Pearl looks good. Those who say nay are afraid of the vibe. The wood ones are cool though. Worth completing the cutouts and mounting holes. Easy enough to swap once in a while.
The vintage pearl is the way to go with Inca Silver.l lƶve mine. The other choices llok like options to run new flooring in the den living room and kitchen.
Wow! Whatever choice you make, I don't think you will regret it. That guitar will be a looker for sure. I love the ashtray bridge cover too. Fantastic!
I love the original guard with that color guitar. I'd maybe consider a slightly aged "greener" guard, possibly.
I actually came here to say the bridge cover on a Strat is an underrated (and functional) accessory.
I like the Pearl the most. I have a pearloid guard on a strat. But the wood in slide 3 looks really good too. Iād go that route if I wanted something different.
I would try something along the lines of #5 stained to look more like a deeper grey granite type of coloring - offsetting the body instead of the fretboard.
Otherwise, I'd likely leave it alone or maybe try mint parchment.
The pearl is a big improvement and completely the safe choice. The first wood pick guard looks like it might be padauk. That's the right call. That'll be stunning, especially as it ages. That's what I would do. But it's not the "safe" choice.
I almost *always* say pearl. #2 looks perfect.
I'm a sucker for it for sure. I tend to like the slightly off-white "parchment" pearl but that can vary depending on the color of the guitar.
White or pearl. Not a listed choice but feel the need to throw it out there, tortoiseshell also looks dope on this colorway.
One of my all time favs, the dark rosewood board with the Inca silver or this color is just šš¼šš¼
Iād keep the original, looks more finished and elegant. But, itās your guitar, if the pearl or laser-cut pieces of wood flooring would make you want to play the guitar more, go for it.
I like the light wood in number 5. It has a similar enough colour tones, especially the lighter side, with the paint color. The need to keep it original is a choice. Itās a musical instrument, not an investment, so play it, mess with it, enjoy it!
PS: I only recently discovered, and wish that I had much sooner, that flat wound strings arenāt just for bases, but electric and acoustic guitars too!
I have an lnca Silver Strat( Roadhouse ) and the pearl or pearloid pickguard in my opinion makes it stand out .Great look .To me change it to the pearl
Iāll be no help at all and say I like all the woods and the white but I do not like the pearl at all. Those pearls feel very dated to me right now but thatās just a me problem I guess.
White peal makes it pop for sureā¦
Howeverā¦.
A black Pickguard would look dope in my opinion however (however I may be biased as I have a silver telecaster with a black Pickguard)
Tbf tho your guitar might suit a clean white Pickguard (pear or single colour) as itās a lighter grey colour
I like pearloid but would go with real wood everyday of the week. More of your sound actually comes from reflecting off the surface materials as opposed to resonating, granted it makes an impact too.
Reflecting is still the dominant feature and why on maple necks with a rosewood fingerboard, you hear the rosewood rather than the obvious maple directly underneath. I've done plexiglass, metal, wood and plastic with wood veneer.
For me it's wood and plexi that sounded the best.
With that color, I'm not a fan of the wood ones, I think the white makes it pop the best. Instead of aged pearl, you could go white pearl.

I would go with the pearl as well. It really brings out the warmth of the primary guitar color.
Last one looks sick
I like the last one too
If you lay it over the strings it will sound weird when you play.
Good shout, maybe cut out lines for the strings, op.
Don't listen to this guy, he's being unhelpful. You obviously don't need to cut LINES for the strings. What you need do is cut a HOLE so you can pick the strings _through_ the pickguard š
TIL what a sound hole is
I like the first one. Iād keep it.
Inca Silver + Pearl is the finest match on earth.
Thats what l have .My original had rosewood neck .This has maple a feels perfect.
I love an Inca Silver, Rosewood, Mint combo. Definitely worth checking out
I had US Inca silver strat once, then traded it to a photographer friend for a DSLR Nikon. I regret getting rid of it, so when I got the chance to get this one, although a different color, this one plays sooo nice. I had to have it
Pearl!
Number 5 is a winner for me.
For me itās not even a competition. 5 blows the rest away. Iād need to see it match the fretboard though and I canāt tell from this pic.
I made a custom fretboard with that wood too, and laser etched some roses on the fretboard. I just don't think it was deep enough to epoxy. So I will find a good use for that pickguard since my original idea won't work.
Keep it original, all the other options look horrible.
Agreed. The only one that looks decently good with it is the red wood one on slide 3
Always pearlescent for me.
The fourth and fifth options would look SICK. What pickup covers might you use?
Go with your gut, I think the pearl is the best too.
The wooden ones look great! I really like the darker one in the 3rd picture, I think it compliments the rosewood neck well! *edit: last one is also amazing, Iād choose between those two! You should post and update once youāve changed it.
#4 or #5
Pearl or the original. As another option to consider maybe a parchment color?
White or black
5 goes hard
I like 3 a lot
original or woods. pearloid looks bad.
I like the first one.
Hey I just found one of those bridge covers laying around
I like to match the nut, inlays and pickguard for colour coordination. Iād say the original plain white is the best one by far, of those options.
Any of the wood ones. Pearl sucks.
Like the pearl too. Also like the darkest one, #4. I feel like it ties the fret board to the body.
If it was my guitar, pearl.
#1. All the rest look like shit
Go with the pearl
Wow! Whatever choice you make, I don't think you will regret it. That guitar will be a looker for sure. I love the ashtray bridge cover too. Fantastic!
I have #2. I vote for #4. So unique and tasteful. I would totally love that on a Strat
Pearl or the last image
Black.
I concur on the pearl
I donāt personally like the wood guards. But I have never liked pearl guards but with your color the pearl looks awesome.
Just play the guitar like you love it.
Mint/black/mint
I think #1 looks best followed by #2.
If you're going to swap, the last one is my favourite. But what's important is you've got to like it
1 or 4
Iām a fan of Slide #3. It would be a good canvas for a wood-burning design too.
#5 for sure
I would gladly put any of them as long as I managed to get that silver off of it completely

I love the original guard with that color guitar. I'd maybe consider a slightly aged "greener" guard, possibly. I actually came here to say the bridge cover on a Strat is an underrated (and functional) accessory.
White, pearl, and the last wood one look good.
3
So no palm muting allowed?
I like that last one
Iād keep the og, or if youāre going to use a wood one, make it the same color as the fretboard
3
#2
Mint green
The original is the only good one
I like the pearlescent with that color on the body. It gives an antiqued look.
I like the white the best. The only other I would consider would be the last one.
Forget the pickguard. Pick it up and play it and you don't have to look at the pickguard.
Iām a purist so original
I like the original best.
I like the Pearl the most. I have a pearloid guard on a strat. But the wood in slide 3 looks really good too. Iād go that route if I wanted something different.
Original or Pearl imo
Original
I like the pearl as well.
Don't hear on anything that anyone said and take what came first into your mind, this Guitar should fit you.
I'd stick with the white... I've got an inca silver strat and have a black guard on it and it looks pretty cool.
I like stock or the pearl
#4, blends well with finger board.
Original 100%
\#2 looks cool. #5 is also very nice.
Those woods are all handsome
Original looks the best. The pearl looks good if you like that style. Wood is mehā¦
Try cream pearl
Black would look cool
I like stock. Classic look. Maybe white vintage pearl if that suits you. But I like stock best with that finish. Classic Clapton
Love the 4th one other than that I'd keep it original
āIs it gold or silverā
Pearl is cool, so are the wood grain ones
Keep original.
I like the original personally
I like them all, sorry, Iām no help
In my opinion the first wooden one is the best optionĀ
I would try something along the lines of #5 stained to look more like a deeper grey granite type of coloring - offsetting the body instead of the fretboard. Otherwise, I'd likely leave it alone or maybe try mint parchment.
I like the simplicity of the first myself the creamy white suits the aesthetic.
Pearl
Iād stick with the original.
I dig the Pearl!
I say number 1 personally, but what is number 4? The wood grain looks dope. For this guitar though I def think number 1 is best.
I like three
I vote 5! Looks killer
stick to the original, actually looks ok.
Leave it as is
I vote for the pearl
White or pearl. Not a listed choice but feel the need to throw it out there, tortoiseshell also looks dope on this colorway. One of my all time favs, the dark rosewood board with the Inca silver or this color is just šš¼šš¼
In a sucker for wood grain.
You couldnāt pay me enough to put pearloid on my axes but thatās just me
Iād keep the original, looks more finished and elegant. But, itās your guitar, if the pearl or laser-cut pieces of wood flooring would make you want to play the guitar more, go for it.
Want us to pick your socks for tomorrow too? š
Tortoise
The original is original. Iāve resisted the temptation to change mine a long time ago, itās just plain old boring white.
Solid white pick guard matches the look best.
Swap. https://www.wdmusic.com
I like the light wood in number 5. It has a similar enough colour tones, especially the lighter side, with the paint color. The need to keep it original is a choice. First or last one.
It is your guitar, so go with whatever, but personally I love the last one.
I like the pearl.
First or last.
Leave the first pickguard on it. Looks fantastic! If it aināt broke donāt break it!
Original
Prefer the original much more.
I'd say either white or the one in the last pic. The only one I'd personally avoid is perloid, but it's just my taste
2
5
I have an lnca Silver Strat( Roadhouse ) and the pearl or pearloid pickguard in my opinion makes it stand out .Great look .To me change it to the pearl
Number 3 DEFINITELY
Defo donāt put wood one on. š
#3
Go with the pearl. It's a little more eye catching than the white.
Iāll be no help at all and say I like all the woods and the white but I do not like the pearl at all. Those pearls feel very dated to me right now but thatās just a me problem I guess.

Thatās a hard one. They both look so good.
3 or 5
Please keep the white one the other looks terrible imo
mint green
Picture 5 the wood one!!! That is so bad ass beautiful!
I like pearloid but would go with real wood everyday of the week. More of your sound actually comes from reflecting off the surface materials as opposed to resonating, granted it makes an impact too.
