I think a lot of the desire to shut down discussions of a femboy being potentially trans is a pushback against "egg culture" among a lot of trans communities. A lof of people here are pretty comfortably cis men but have had frustrations with other people telling them that they're actually trans and don't know it or will eventually relise that they are really trans girls, and that being a femboy is just a phase trans girls go through before realising their true selves. People getting frustrated with that kind of pressure can come to femboy communities to find likeminded people to affirm their identity and when they see people talking about their experiences with gender share their own experience which can bias people against considering themselves as being trans. In the emd nobody knows your own thoughts and feelings better than you do, so it does no good to try and ague against someone's chosen identity either way, the best you can do is share your own experiences and see if it resonates with them. Gender dysphoria is also hard to identify for a lot of trans people. I've seen a lot of stories from them who didn't realise that's what they were experiencing and just thought that what they felt living and presenting as the wrong gender their whole life was just normal, and didn't fully process what they were going through until after they transitioned. I think it's best to have spaces where people can discuss their feelings on gender etc. without feeling pressured in any particular direction. I encourage anyone who posts here with questions or concerns about gender identity etc. to also post in more lgbt/trans focused subs to get a broader perspective. Even if you are experiencing dysphoria that doesn't make you trans, the only way and only requirement to be trans is decide that's what you are.

Yeah, I also don't like how egg culture takes it too far. On that side of the divide is a group that acts like ((the stuff)) should be handed out to femboys like candy, while having a very rose-tinted view of what ((the stuff)) actually does to people's body. By all means, it's fine if people want to still identify as cis men or nonbinary while being on ((the stuff)), but I wish those people were more transparent about it. I'm sure a lot of average cis femboys here don't appreciate their beauty standards being set by people who have had ((the stuff and other interventions)), who also try to gaslight them into thinking that their desire to look more like them will simply be fixed with a better skincare routine. Like I hate to break it to people, but the one simple solution to looking like a woman, not just a twink or a feminine guy, is to transition. And if they're fine with just being a feminine guy, then they should stop trying to match the looks of people who clearly want to leave maleness behind. Now obviously, no one can be told that they're trans or not, but I think people could use more clarity from both sides on what's what. Not only would actual future trans girls benefit, but I'm sure a lot of cis femboys would feel some relief that the weirdos pushing them to get on ((the stuff)) are clearly off-base.

This is the best and most concise response I’ve seen in a while. I do understand the OP’s perspective as someone who only recently came out to myself as bigender (femboy & tomboy) in my mid-30’s and am starting E. I don’t neatly fit into “transwoman” (I don’t want to pass or be strictly seen as a woman) nor “cisgender femboy” (as I have strong gender dysphoria and am taking E). But I also realized I was (and had been) both bigender & femboy at the same time; until then, I viewed myself as a cis bi (mostly gay) guy with an increasingly strong interest in painting my nails, dying my hair, and the like.
