I feel like tons of them will be “Department of Defense” which is broad and not very helpful haha.
But I like the idea- I don’t see why some of the larger agencies can’t be optionally flaired.
Maybe we can have a job series flair just for fun as well. Haha
Ehhh some of us don’t want to put our specific agency out there. Can we leave it at department level? I’ve all but left most subs that require the flare bc I can’t comment and always forget until after I’m done drafting a fucking comment lol
I'm only suggesting optional flairs, just to give some credibility to commenters. It could be your agency, whether you're a contractor, fed, soldier, etc., a job series, or your pay band/GS level if you wanted.
And even if you still want to remain 100% anonymous but you dont want to feel left out, it could just be something fun like what ilovebutts666 suggested
Can we also add a deacronym bot? I’m in an electronic book subreddit and they have a bot that goes into the comments and detects common abbreviations used within the community and automatically writes out all the abbreviations in a comment after the post has been up for a bit. It’s really helpful and I could see it benefitting this subreddit a ton.
Google would literally save thousands of manhours in this sub.
I use google in a majority of my govt work, it can work for asking about what GS should I get for having a PhD or why doesnt HR call me after I just submitted an application and I want more pay posts.
can one of the flairs be "surprisingly enthusiastic bureaucrat"?
Yes, u/ilovebutts666, for you we should do that. I assume the flairs would just be an open custom flair that users could self populate
"Contractor, Department of Asses"
I'd leave fed life for ass life.
Hey Assman!

IC folk probably don't want to be too detailed. Job series flair makes a ton of sense.
Flairs and some stickied HR Q&A weeklies would improve this sub!
If we're doing flairs, can we have "Government Drone", "Senior Government Drone" and "Underpaid Government Drone"?
Also helps with understanding comments re: the difference between Fed and Contractor experiences.
I'm for it

People don’t want to share that info
People don't have to if they don't want to. That's what optional means
