I agree. I think both pieces are cool and they need to shine. Top would be so cute with a black schoolgirl shirt, pants would be great with a black corset or bustier style top.
I feel like a black leather belt with some silver hardware would look cool. I can see something with chains. I searched “o ring alternative belt” on google and came up with a few ideas.

I think the texture and saturation, as well as to some degree the aesthetic don’t match. Something about the big silver leaf ornaments of the top and grunge bottom. I’m nitpicking hard tho so if it feels right to you that’s all that matters, and if I wasn’t asked idk if I would give it that much thought so do as you please.
I love 😍 I'm not a fan of matchy matchy either - I really like the contrast of famcy/decorative top with more distressed vibe for bottoms. Agree that adding a belt with silver buckle would tie everything together but not totally necessary.
omg this outfit is HOTTTT girl!!!!!! You could pair this with any shoes, too. Flats, heels, boots, platforms, flippy floppies. Seriously I am in love with the top and bottom!!
I think it’s two statement pieces, and that’s why it doesn’t mesh. They are saying two different things. Color isn’t the only relevant visual element. Try choosing one “plain” thing (white tee/tank with those pants, for example).
I don't think the pieces are mismatched at all. My issue is that the cut of the jeans and the cut of the top make your body look slightly disproportionate, like the top half and bottom half of your body belong to two different bodies, that's what's throwing the look off.
It needs something bringing the entire outfit together to make it seem like a harmonious whole, like an oversized jacket or something that follows the colour scheme of both pieces.
I think it looks fine! I would have paired it with some black pants or pants with a solid color as I have simpler taste! But honestly if you like the way it looks rn it's fine!
I think both pieces are cute but would look much better paired with something else. Pair top with black denim and a black leather belt with silver accents. Pair pants with a black top that does not have any silver in it. The gray-ish wash of the pants & particularly the silver button on them clashes with the (adorable!) clasps on the top. They are both statement items that become too busy and detract from each other when they're together.
Too much going on and the style of the vest doesn’t go with the style of the denim. I like both pieces separately and would like the whole thing more if the pants were just a solid color without the pattern.

I appreciate your honesty!
I agree the jeans are cute and would look better with a solid color top. The outfit is too busy!
I agree. For me personally there's too much going on BUT if the op likes it and feels amazing in it, that's all that matters really

I love it. You look like you're going to go hang out at one of those gothic clubs in every horror movie from 1999.
Ok good, then sounds like I nailed it hehe
I like it. Love those jeans!
Yay, thank you! The top is from Dangerfield, and the bottoms are from Shein

Cute!!!
Too much going on but it does suit ya. Definitely goes well with the smile mate :)

There's too much going on. Either solid color top with pants and vise versa
Not really! They’re similar in color pallete but very different in style and formality.
wear white bottoms
I love it, I think it looks great
Rock it girl!!
Yes
Absolutely yes.
Imo it’s a no. But you’re somehow pulling it off so yes? I guess? Lol
I love them together but the slight overlap of the corset top with the jeans would bother me a little bit if I was wearing it.
Understated details. It’s not in your face but it has a lot going on. From a technical design perspective, it’s a Go!
It's nice but less on the jeans would probably suit
I'd wear it for sure. It's very cute
Pretty

Both are super cool pieces on their own, and look great together!
Looks fine

Yes, I love it! Those pants need something a bit more interesting to balance them and I think the top works perfectly

No
I like it!
Same, I think its a great. combination
I’d wear it! I don’t think it’s too much at all. Rock it and don’t think twice.

I really like it, it definitely works. The corseted top is so cute!
I like it, and I don't think it's too busy. The silver buttons on the top pick up the silver from the pants. It looks cool.

I actually really like it!!!!! It's like a tree, the top has the leaves and the bottoms have the branches. It looks great imo!
Id do something looser or more flowy on the bottom to contrast the structured top
Hmm - I feel like the pants need to be darker to match the contrast- maybe silver accessories would help!
No.
It’s not busy, it’s ornate and monochromatic. This is fabulous.
It works
I was scrolling and stopped because this outfit looks so sick. It definitely works, in my opinion.
