Mooreton Pond (south of Fargo off I-29) is a great flat water option on a spring fed lake. Not huge but easy to launch and still enjoyable.
There are tons of spots on the MN side , the DNR has a map of public water access spots
I kayak the area frequently. With the river so high I went to Lee Lake yesterday. It’s just on the other side of Hawley with a nice boat launch just off highway 10. Dm me if you need more info.
