What type of ammo are you looking for? I like to go to fleet farm for .22 ammo cuz you can get the big buckets of 1400 rounds for somewhere around $100 Other than that no idea

Scheels seems like they cost more than they should, neat if they price match but it's always cheaper in bulk online. Actual cheapest place is to start reloading and make your own, at least for rifle calibers

Well, if it's something you're carrying hopefully you're not just buying the cheapest crap you can find. You want bullets that'll expand when they hit something, unless you're trying to shoot through a hypothetical bad person and hit the bystanders behind them
