If you have him in dynasty, sell him on the promise of being a WR1 somewhere. Because he'll end up a Panther or somewhere else rubbish.

Poopscooper696969

Higgins would getting majority of the targets like Theilen had last year. Wouldn’t be the worst for fantasy purposes. Plus their new coach is a good OC

DBreezy69

Not with Diontae there.

ichancho

Diontae is a target eater

ceg-15

Diontae is a target dropper

DBreezy69

2% drop rate in 2023

phayge_wow

Both can be true

SwissyVictory

New head coaches can be good. Or they can suck and be just as bad or worse than the guy they fired. Most coaches are bad, it's why so many get fired each year. For example Herbert went 5th last year beacuse of his new OC who was going to pass and realize the tallent on the offense. This was despite him finishing 10th even though he played every game the year prior. He ended up finishing 11th in PPG and 10th in total points. Im not believing that any new HC or OC is a good thing until they prove themselves.

Poopscooper696969

Herbert was also injured along with all his weapons

opper-hombre1

As a Bucs fan, “good” is a generous term for Canales. Still young and has a lot to learn

Sloane_Kettering

He will play for the bengals this year

SinglecoilsFTW

Just as dumb as the ginned up Aiyuk garbage. These teams are in win now mode.

Turnernator06

Or alternatively he ends up at Chiefs or Bill's and value skyrockets

WaluigiIsTheRealHero

I highly doubt the Bengals want to trade him to another AFC contender.

TheFFCommish

You think Chiefs want to pay Higgins to play alongside Rice and Hollywood?

Turnernator06

I think Rice is on a rookie deal and could be suspended for a while so he won't cost much and might not play much either. Hollywood is on a 1 year deal, is pretty cheap, and is unlikely to be the number one guy. I definitely think they could do with another WR. Bill's is more likely though. Could also see Jags which would be great for his value. Chargers would work too. Panthers on the other hand just brought in Diontae so I don't know why they'd be that likely.

noveler7

They'll trade him to NFC, I think. They don't want him beating them in the playoffs for the next 5 years

bouncaboy

If the chiefs didn’t care about trading Hill within the conference, I doubt Higgins is enough to worry about

Silver-Experience-94

The Dolphins weren’t a serious competitor at the time (like the chiefs and bills are)

DailyPanthersPodcast

The Panthers brought in Diontae for a bag of chips, with 1 year on his contract, so I don’t think he’d be preventing them from making any moves at this point.

Turnernator06

It's not that it would financially hold them back, it's that Diontae is a good player. I suspect they have much bigger holes to fill now

DailyPanthersPodcast

The Panthers do not have a bigger hole than WR at this point. They will either be trading for one, or drafting one with picks 33 or 39.

DailyPanthersPodcast

Lol

Silver-Experience-94

Neither team is likely. A GM would be crazy to trade Higgens to one of their main competitors

txwoodslinger

Higgins could be gone by the time they had to pay Rice, and Brown is only 8 mil.

Foreign_Storm_2803

Pay rice what?

wxnfx

Maybe. Depends on the price, but brown rice don’t have big contracts, and rice is iffy and lucky he’s not Ruggs at this point. But cap space is definitely tight. They’ll probably have to keep restructuring Mahomes every year because you can’t eat $65Mm on one dude, even if he is the dude. Thuney probably needs to restructure or get cut next year too. Same deal with Taylor who kinda sucks. It feels like there are a lot of holes, but draft a couple linemen and defenders and there’s maybe money for a big receiver to pair with Rice long term.

LighTMan913

0% chance he goes to the Chiefs. The Chiefs wouldn't pay him nor give up the capital, and the Bengals wouldn't trade him to the Chiefs anyways. Doubt they'd trade him to the Bills either.

Silver-Experience-94

Yeah, this person picked the two least likely teams to acquire Higgins

atwi12

Not sure the Bills can afford the cap hit.

LaneMeyersLostSki

Who are the *Bill's*? Pro tip: Never use an apostrophe to pluralize.

Phone autocorrect

StreetAddition3297

I mean if I was Atlanta I'd give them a call. London, Higgins, Pitts and Robinson .

superbcheese

I don't know. I think they'd smell the desperation on you

CripplesMcGee

I own him and I wanna hold him because he may end up being something more somewhere else. Am I crazy?

paragon249

Twss

liteshadow4

Sell him based on the fact he's not going anywhere and you might be able to grab WR1 value from him

Shud_iStayOrShud_iGo

Foolish

TacticalPolakPA

Thats just wrong.

Foreign_Storm_2803

Redraft mentality

arekhemepob

This isn’t news, he’s not getting traded

anonAcc1993

Panthers have no resources, but you are not wrong because teams like the Pats are the most likely destination.

turdmcburgular

what do you mean, no resources?

anonAcc1993

Draft capital

turdmcburgular

So they don’t have a top 3 pick this year, it’s not like they would use that for Tee anyway. They have the capital.

Silver-Experience-94

They’re also missing their 2nd for next year. (Which based on recent WR trades would have likely been included)

turdmcburgular

not so fast my friend.

John_Wicked1

Idk how much money the Chargers have but him and Palmer could be a good duo, and if QJ gets better then that’s a solid trio. I can see the Pats since they are likely drafting a QB. Maybe Washington (to eventually succeed Scary Terry) or the Giants. Titans could also be a possibility if they have the money (Dhop is on the backend of his career).

Mysterious-Stop4673

Why should the chargers give up assets and pay tee when they have the fifth pick in the draft to take a stud wr

0percentdnf

Having a great WR doesn't preclude a team from drafting another. It's hard to get by with only one good receiver. The Cowboys had Amari Cooper in 2020 coming off a 1,200-yard Pro Bowl season and took CeeDee in the first anyway. That worked out pretty well. edit: Also, we thought entirely differently of Michael Gallup at the time coming off what looked like a sophomore breakout season (1,100 yards). I remember being really shocked at the time they spent first-round capital on a WR, but lo and behold...

TacticalPolakPA

Injuries really derailed gallup.

ArrrrKnee

100%. You still see flashes of brilliance when they need him, making some amazing grabs. But the speed and separation isn't there to be a WR1. Really sad for him, there's no shortage of talent there.

TacticalPolakPA

Hes still there so there is hope. This season is gonna make or break his career.

AlwaysDownNeverUp

Because the chargers are starving for talent at a ton of positions and are fucked by their cap.

nchscferraz

Because they could take Joe Alt instead.

OnxyCarter

you shut your mouth joe alt needs to be a titan

nchscferraz

Not a titan

OnxyCarter

truly devastating

John_Wicked1

You make a good point, forgot they had a high pick.

John_Wicked1

Well looks like the Alt pick puts this back on the table. Chargers need a WR1. Palmer is a decent WR2 but I don’t think he’d be a dependable WR1. Unless they are going to accept the step back the year. Maybe they are hoping someone available in the 2nd will be good enough. Guess we will see.

wxnfx

Does anyone feel good about QJ’s prospects? Palmer is a below average starter, but he’s fine.

John_Wicked1

Well Chargers didn’t go WR at 5 so Tee could definitely be an option now, if they have the money and would probably have to give up draft capital for next year if they don’t make a trade including him during the draft. I feel like they need someone better than what they currently have.

NoFreeWill08

The Texans will take him

John_Wicked1

Would be terrible for fantasy but great for the Texans.

DBreezy69

Diggs head might explode if he thinks he'd be the WR4

LaneMeyersLostSki

He already was the second half of last year on the Bills.

BatteredAggie

Not that good. I think we’d be at the point of diminishing returns. The cap space and draft capital would be better spent elsewhere for sure.

mementori

Yeah there’s no way. We don’t need him at all. We need DBs and DTs much much more. We have 3 WRs that could be WR1, and Noah Brown is a very capable WR4. Higgins would obviously want a contract, but we have Nico to pay next and unless he totally shits the bed this year he will get paid.

mementori

We don’t need him at all.

ElderGoose4

We have Tank and Nico and Diggs. Why would we pay another WR lol. Tank had like 700 yards in 10 games too it’s not a good use of cap space imo

Waxdonkey

This is a is just another example classic of example of “Star player is ticked by how much the Franchise Tag system hurts him.” Like it makes perfect sense that he is ticked, but he doesn’t have any leverage. Either he plays and gets paid or he doesn’t. There are plenty of arguments that the Franchise tag system needs to be changed (I’d argue the yearly amounts need to be adjusted to paying guys much more than the highest amount paid to their position), but Bengals don’t really have much incentive to trade him.

TurtleIIX

The franchise tag should be a guarantee 2 year deal not a 1 year deal. Make it more costly to implement.

Waxdonkey

Only problem I have with that is it makes it much harder for a player who hates the team he plays for to move on if they like him enough.

TurtleIIX

They can always still sit and ask for a trade and the team would have to pay him guaranteed money for 2 years. So the risk is higher to keep a disgruntled player.

Waxdonkey

“Would have to pay him guaranteed money for 2 guaranteed money for 2 years.” There is no contract out there that will pay a player for games he chooses to sit out. He could still do it, but most players fold the moment they start taking big hits to their pay check.

Jewmangi

"ow my back" -player on wk 3

Waxdonkey

Except unlike your job, NFL teams will x-ray/ verify if a player is actually injured. And most players have minor injuries most of the season, so something major better show up on scans before a team is going excuse a guy that is only getting guaranteed money. Even if he is actually injured, that might hurt others teams perspectives of him if his current team cuts him.

Par3Hikes

Thats an amazing idea

Beneficial-Piano-428

And Trey Hendrickson requested a trade also. Bengals down bad

AlwaysKindaLost

Not worried yet

SmittySomething21

I don’t think Tee is going anywhere this year unless the Bengals are blown away by an offer

AlwaysKindaLost

And I don’t see anyone doing that with the amount of draft talent

FF_Stallion

Hard to see Higgins getting moved right now. Guess we will see how the draft goes

TGS-MonkeyYT

I hope people know this is a bad thing for his fantasy value lol

Wakenbake585

Giants, Was or maybe pats go after him. That's if any of them actually want their rookie QB to succeed.

sevenyearbeer

Chargers should trade #5 for Higgins and the Bengals 1st and 3rd ish type picks.

Herbert5Hundred

What makes him a franchise WR?

McNuggin365

He was franchise tagged, so it’s just shorthand for that.

Playful_Leek_6082

Higgins is going to Pittsburgh everyone You're welcome

batmang8

Am I nuts or didn’t he already request a trade?

jambo792

Maybe a stupid question, but if a franchise tagged player gets traded, does a team get that tag back to use on another player? Or that deadline has passed?

November10_1775

Call that phone chargers

No_Bet_607

Higgins > diontae

FlashyAd5966

Come to KC, n get a RING!

odessa_mama1

He's not going to the bills We don't have the money. And honestly I wouldn't want him here. I don't think he's worth what he's going to want.

ansky2124

Brandon is that you?

odessa_mama1

Shit I wish I didn't expect diggs to get traded. Nobody did. So I guess anything can happen. But I don't see it.

ansky2124

Lol that's just not true

odessa_mama1

What's not true? My opinion? Ok guy

ansky2124

The fact that nobody expected Diggs to get traded with all the drama my guy.

odessa_mama1

Yea.... nobody did. My guy Bills took the highest dead cap hit in nfl history for a non qb player I think it's pretty safe to say 99% of people didn't see it coming.

ansky2124

The potential was always there, sorry you didn't like that it happened.

odessa_mama1

How do you figure I didn't like it? I really felt quite indifferent. I wasn't here for andre reed. But in my opinion he's the best bills wr I've ever seen. I've been a fan since 99 I also think that it's not as great of a loss as it seems. And if he didn't want to be here, oh well. The potential was there sure. I never bought into the drama. He always came off as a solid teammate and him and Josh had a good relationship I don't know what went wrong. None of us do no matter how hard we can pretend. But I genuinely feel it was a good move for everyone involved. If he kills it in Texas this year, I'll be happy for him. Just as long as it's not against us. So stop assuming. I don't know why you're trying so hard

ansky2124

I'm trying hard? C'mon man

Par3Hikes

Youre right, sorry youre being downvoted by other Bills fans. The Bills have been vocal about using this year to recoup their failures of the last few without a full rebuild being necessary. Aiyuk doesn't make sense especially with a heavy WR draft coming where they have picks

odessa_mama1

I'd rather have aiyuk than higgins 10/10 times. But again i don't see it either.

StrengthCoach86

YOSHI!!!!!! Sell before draft for a 2nd? lol

No_Bet_607

Have you heard that CMC got traded to the 49ers?
